Mirai Nikki (TV)

Fate Stay Night and Mirai Nikki both tells about Survival Game in which the contestants battle against each other to win the prize. They also features similar protagonists who were initially weak and pathetic, but grows as the series progresses. In FSN, Emiya Shirou is accompanied by Saber while in Mirai Nikki Yukiteru is accompanied by Gasai Yuno. Yuno and Saber are both powerful heroines able to surpass the heroes in combat.

Both animes began to unveil dark, hidden secrets as the story progresses.

The characters are forced to participate in a game where they must kill in order to be granted any one wish. There are no familiars, but the concept is similar. The main characters are both unwilling, but this anime is more horror though.

Fate/stay night and Mirai Nikki involve Emiya Shirou and Yukiteru Amano, respectively, being dragged into a survival game against their will. The games in both involve goin against a set of opponents with a certain objective. In Fate/stay night, the objective is to eliminate all the opposing servants of the other contestants. In Mirai Nikki, you must destroy all other future diaries owned by the contestants. If one were to win in Mirai Nikki, one would become god of their universe. If one were to win in Fate/stay night, one would receive the all powerful Holy Grail. Both main characters are portrayed to be weak and soft in their personalities. The two characters receive help from strong-willed, more experienced females--Tohsaka Rin in Fate/stay night, and Gasai Yuno in Mirai Nikki. Both shows can be lighthearted but can also become very dark. They were both very enjoyable to watch. read more

Similarities:
Both animes involve a winner-take-all game where the combatants have to fight one another to the death.
Both have a protagonist who is reluctant to fight unless absolutely necessary
Both have a female main character who is clearly more skilled than the protagonist (and is much more willing to play the game)
In both this female character assists the protagonist in trying to win the game
Both are quite dark and have a lot of bloodshed and deaths as the story progresses
Both have very good fight scenes and story exposition, as well as good character growth 

Differences:
Mirai Nikki uses cellphones as diaries to predict the future and the characters have to fight amongst themselves, whereas F/SN the characters summon servants to help them fight
Mirai Nikki the game is held to determine the next God of Space and Time, F/SN the game is held to determine a worthy recipient of the Holy Grail read more

Both shows have similar premises, main characters, and present a balanced mix of action & drama with a fair share of plot twists and dark undertones.  Also the main pairings presented are similar in many ways (though are both different enough to feel unique from each other as well).

However the biggest reason I have is, oddly enough, the main criticism people have for both shows ~ that they are said to have many inconsistencies and plot holes.  The underlying reason for each is different, but if you disagree/don't care about this being an issue in one, then the main reason people will tell you not to watch the other is null and void for you.  As such you are better suited to enjoy the other for the things it does well. read more

Both have extremely dark undertones, and both take a couple episodes to get running. Though Mirai Nikki blasts you faster, Madoka also hits you in the face. Both have:
-Strong Character Development
-A mysterious heroine that gets revealed later through the series
-An ending that will drive you off a cliff

Though their plots differ, their dark themes, messages, and characters will make you love one if you preferred the other.

Even though, from a first approach, you could mistake Mirai Nikki for a shounen and Mahou Shojo Madoka for a fantasy/shoujo/magical girl anime, don't be fooled. Before anything, they are thrillers. Their intrigues can be related, but on the same time they are not actually that similar (won't say more not to spoil you). 
Overall, I make this recommandation because these two anime can give you the same feelings (chills, thrill or WTF), especially when they start to run wild. If you enjoyed watching one, you will enjoy watching the other.

How far would you go for the person you care and love? Are you ready to face the consequences of your actions? Both series have a dark themed atmosphere filled with  a sense of mystery and action thrown into the mix. The two contain gore and fighting as well, albeit in their own way. The build up of tension, the drama, and the way the plot unfolds; both series will surely keep you glued to your seats.

Both revolve around a protagonist who doesn't want anyone to get hurt but gets thrown into some sort of "survival game" nonetheless

In turn, both feature a mysterious girl who protects said protagonist and seems to have very deep feelings for them, even though they just recently met.

I won't spoil the ending, but let's just say they have the same "vibe".

If you are into a little bit of "gore" theme and would want to see straight to the point action, then somehow this will entice you to go for this series.

Some of you may encountered that "Akame Ga Kill!" is a no good series. Well for some reason:
1. They started of really good but upon reaching the end. They did not anymore follow the manga series.
2. (P.S. - I may be a little bit biased here) Rule of thumb, just don't pick who your favorite characters are you'll see xD

It's one of the most similar anime that you could find to Mirai Nikki. It's going in the same line, although the argument is different.
Perhaps this anime doesn't have a part as romantic and fictional as Mirai Nikki, in other words, it's more possible or seems more real.
Punctuation that I have put in this anime is similar in both because graphics are very good, opening and ending are fantastic despite of they don't have a lot of soundtrack, but the best is the unexpected, that surprises you, especially at the end.
In summary, if you like Mirai Nikki, I believe that this anime will like you.

The main character is an innocent boy who just wants to live a normal life, until he's abducted and forced to assassinate people. There, we follow his journey to become a man and kill like a beast.

Cataclysm. Akame ga Kill and The Future Diary both give a cataclysm of a world as a base for two average MCs. In this world, their MCs must fight for their survival by all means in order to secure their wishes.

MCs Tatsumi and Yukiteru are both made to participate in a deadly venture being an assassination group and survival game respectively. Though Future Diary gives the victor the ability to become god. AGK is selfless in that the Night Raid wishes to take down the empire for the good of the people.

Both have a good tragic atmosphere for an anime involving evolved items on a supernatural level, being a literal Future Diary in Future Diary and advanced deadly weapons for AGK. read more

If you want a very R rated anime with a dark atmosphere, then you'll probably like these two. You will find in both : 
- A large cast of main characters each with their own motivation and reason to fight
- Lots of gore and blood scenes
- A steady pace with many fights
- Heartbreaking death scenes
- A really dark environment with many crazy and sadistic characters

Both have a school setting and a romance where one of the girls is basically THE definition of "yandere" and the boy doesn't speak his mind (or, quite frankly, is an idiot). 
There's gore in both shows (though in Mirai Nikki a lot more).
School days rather focuses on the romance and the drama, while Mirai Nikki has a plot that revolves around a survival game, though the romance is still important for the way the character act. 
Both can be a bit disturbing at certain parts and both are kind of hit-or-miss shows with a lot of people loving them and a lot of people not liking them at all. read more

The protagonists are both idiots. 
School Days has less gore than Mirai Nikki, however, and is a lot more bearable. Mirai Nikki is longer with a more complex plot, whereas School Days instead focuses on the "romance".

For those who likes "yandere", should watch Mirai Nikki, the women protagonists of both animes are psychopaths (Kotonoha and Yuno). Mirai Nikki is more violent and dramatic than School Days, but both of them have the "Psychopath Love".

There is an obessive girlfriend, the story is very twisted and deep, and at the end there is extreme violence involved. I highly recommend if you're into horror , an extremely deep story and a little romance.

These two series can gives you a bit of enjoyment because of the retarded characters in the show. Both are gory and dramatic which also focuses on romance. If you are a person who like dark stories, well, you're gonna enjoy these two shows.

Extreme. I have to say, I don't quite see extreme stories like Future Diary and School Days a lot. It is too a point of absurdity as well, as in, they don't really care, absurd kinda levels. In saying that, both stories are drastic takes on the themes aim to tell a story about.

With Future Diary ultimately being a far from realistic survival game story, School Days being an over-the-top harem deconstruction of how something as such cannot work. Both use their characters in ways that would make you question the very reality you live in, whether by mentally questionable means or physically logic breaking themes.

Both are still pretty psychological good anime that at least deserve praise for the lengths it goes for its stories. Future Diary more or a carnage than the silhouette that crawls closer and closer in School Days.

The story is about a group of people trying to survive by following their cell phones command or else they will die, and Mirai Nikki has the same idea except their cellphones have abilities that would help them survive in this survival game. The characters all have their own twists and turns.

Survival game (of sort). A lot of references to Mirai Nikki (OP, ED, some plot elements). Clever and somewhat sociopathic main female heroine (Yuno is definitely many notches higher though). Initially weak willed MC, growing stronger as the plot proceeds. Mature themes in both animes. Teenage issues.

SHORT VERSION:
Similar main characters (in terms of personality, actions and interactions) similar-ish plot. and Gleipnir having amazing fight scenes that sometimes go off-model but it enhances the experience and lastly, there are god-like powers in either show and a god-like figure 

LONG-ISH VERSION:
These two shows are similar in the sense that both genres are generic ecchi/action/romance shows. in regards to characters and plot, both lead female characters are psychopathic they both show traits of typical yandere (Claire is less so then Yuki), the lead male character for these shows is your A-typical cry-baby, who doesn't want to hurt people however both progress to change that, there are some similarities in plot however not many, I recommend both series as if you like one you will most likely like the other. read more

The male main characters in both shows don't have a backbone and instead rely on their partners.

Both of these anime uses the concept of a "game", in which every characters have to fight each other to acquire a "power". 

The main casts of these two anime has a similar role as well; the FeMCs are the one who actively participates in fighting each other, whereas the MC plays a role as a courage fuel for the FeMC

Mirai Nikki is similar to Gleipnir in the way that both have a pair of protagonists - a girl and a boy - fighting to kill extraordinary things in the world. Gasai Yuno is a very jealous girl, and Aoki Clair is also possessive towards Kagaya Shuuichi's other form.

Except for these reasons, they are not quite comparable however, I could't stop thinking of Mirai Nikki when I watched Gleipnir.

Hot garbage to hot garbage, both with confused and default-template MC and stereotypically unhinged female MC. The plots try to be something which transcends themselves, but fails disgustingly horribly. Atleast Mirai Nikki is goofy to watch, has a (stupid but) interesting plot dynamic, really potent characters and actual space of improvement. Gleipnir has none of them.

Watch Mirai Nikki if ya wanna have a good laugh with the homeboys, watch Gleipnir if ya wanna give reasons to game-end yourself.

Both of these anime test the characters' morality as they struggle to survive in threatening situations. In Mirai Nikki, participants fight to the death to become the next god, using diaries that grant them special abilities. Meanwhile, in Shiki, the villagers strive to survive as vampires begin hunting them. In both stories, the characters face difficult decisions, sometimes having to harm others to stay alive.

Wimpy isolated protagonists have to fight for their lives and become a central part of the impending apocalypse. Both have unstable (young) people engaging in brutal but also strategically interesting combat. Both have... Kaworu, pretty much.

Concerning the Main Character:
 Both Shinji and Yukiteru are young boys who have lived a lonely life. Both of their fathers want nothing to do with them unless it benefits them. Both of them are suddenly forced to have a level of power that very few others have. This causes many moral dilenmas for the MC, and it takes a LONG time for both to even begin coming to terms with it.
Both of the main characters are typically overshadowed in the series by a stronger female role, who typically performs the more significant feats in the series (Asuka in NGE, Yuno in Mirai Nikki). In addition, both have their own dark pasts which have a severe effect on their current mindsets.
In addition, there is a 'divine' being in the form of human male that shows up in both series and takes a strange liking to the main character, but the relationship, usually inferred romantic, never gets to progress in any direction.

In addition, both series are not afraid to go all out with showcasing the graphic nature of the situation. Blood is spilt, and spilt heavily, in both series. The loss of human life is a serious thing and is treated as such.

And both series have a depressing atmosphere that just permeates the entire world around them, though NGE's is more noteworthy due to it's late-series decline in animation quality. read more

This one kid, seemingly can't do anything and has to leave the work to the other more enthusiastic lasses to get the job done. But is that entirely the fault of the boy? The boy who was dragged into this detrimental unhinged "reality" where death is closer than ever and unexpected raids are to be expected. It's a catastrophe of a world to live in, but that is the life these two, named Yukiteru and Shinji respectively, must rise up against. Quench their fears and take on the disorder in from of them. 

Whether that be aliens from space or a ridiculous large battle royale (for a playing field). Future Diary and NGE are very good at putting our characters into situations made for them to grow with every ludicrous or unracking event that comes.

Both are very good psychological anime as a main focused theme. Of course, action is a given, and both prevail in such.

Both anime have very simliar protagonists: Shinji and Yukki both have very low self-esteem and problematic relationships with their fathers. Both have a characteristic fear of rejection, however Shinji's psychological complex gets a more in depth analysis.

What sets both of them apart is the type of deuteragonist they employ: The other two main characters in NGE serve primarely the developement of Shinji, while Yuno Gasai - the deuteragonist of "Mirai Nikki" - is a very interesting person on her own right and maybe a "better" version of what Rei and Asuka in NGE could have become.

Creepy schoolgirl stalkers with a cute side, some gore and mindscrew, and Japanese schoolgirls being your average Japanese schoolgirls, bloody knifes included.

DTK being an OVA suffers quality-wise, but voiceacting is very nice, and the thriller feeling is just as good.

The atmosphere is very similar in both, dark, eerie, yet also some quirkiness at times... and the presence of much blood and gore, very graphic and psychotic... The male protagonist in both also seem similar in that they are just normal students until they are entangled in a "game" of life and death, contemplating murder in order to survive. They both also met very crazed girls who seem to hold no remorse for killing.

Although the plots to Mirai Nikki and Tokyo Ghoul are nowhere near each other, they're pretty similar in all other aspects. It all really comes down to the central idea of anime not being just for kids. Like Tokyo Ghoul, Mirai Nikki delivers in violence, character development, and plot. If you're looking for a bit more twisted romance and less censored violence, then be sure to watch Mirai Nikki. If you want badass characters and character development coming straight out of every orifice of the protagonist, then watch Tokyo Ghoul. Either way, both shows are of my favorite anime and I highly recommend you watch them right away.  read more

Both animes involve a lot of gore, and the MC of both animes is a pussy for at least half the show. The MC's supporting character is a Yandere that is madly in love with him in one(Mirai Nikki) While the other one is a Tsundere who i honestly couldn't say if she loves him or not (Tokyo Ghoul)

Both animes feature a beta male who meets a crazed girl that causes them to become more confident and self assured. Both have tons of gore and are psychological thrillers.

I found that both these anime had a creepy spine tingling feel to them
they both deal with a power one being seeing the future and the other becoming a ghoul and that causes them both to have to kill
both have male leads who have to kill but hate doing so
both leads go from soft to hardcore when it come to protection who they love
both are well done and fun series with horrifying moments and heartwarming ones as well

Both contain mature and adult themes that have a refreshing dark taste while mirai nikki can be more suggestive but it doesnt take away from the appeal in any way i feel like if you enjoyed tokyo ghoul youd enjoy mirai nikki

Both anime are about survival and the approach of humans to a dangerous situation with teenage main characters.
Mirai Nikki has a psychological approach with action elements, Devil Survivor 2 has philosophical elements about the destiny of mankind.
Also some characters have traits in common.

Both series involves around a city in which there is strange supernatural phenomenon taking place. The usage of cell phones is a part of those phenomenons.

The setting also features a game-like scenario where survival is the key. In other words, lives are at stakes and there are no second chances.

The series also has action, drama, and deals with how the main characters must overcome obstacles in order to survive.

Both have an element where you can predict future deaths using your phone.
(Well more specific is in Devil Survivor 2, it's a phone app)
It's a similar idea as it's survival, but rather than it being a Battle Royale, people/humanity are clubbing together to defeat demons. So it's a new story to enjoy!

They both are some kind of a battle royale (however, Devil Survivor is less of this) and the characters uses mobile phones which has an special application, that lets them survive. Main character for both series, and also the main "antagonist", are almost the same in terms of personality, but Devil Survivor isn't as extreme as Mirai Nikki.

As for general plot, while it's similar one to another, Mirai Nikki is more like Devil Survivor 2 Record Breaker's Triangulum path (original game), so it's more recommended for those who enjoyed the main game of DeSu rather than anime-only fans.

I found that the main characters of both (Zero Two and Hiro, Yuno and Yuuki) have very similar traits and characteristics that bring together their independent series'. Zero Two and Yuno have very passionate and goal-directed behaviour, whereas Hiro and Yuuki are both leaders in their own right (Yuuki falls into the category a lot later than Hiro though).

And yes, each pair have the same hair colour.

If you loved the Romance in Mirai Nikki you will love Darling in the FranXX,for me it was a little difficult with the childish Robot-stuff, but if you hold on, you will feel the same as in Mirai Nikki.

- Both shows have very similar romances and relationships between the male and female leads.
- Both male and female leads have similar personalities and both characters look similar.
- Both force teenage couples into a very serious and dangerous situation

the romance is very similar; a guy just trying to live his life and things aren't really going his way, then all of a sudden a bold girl with pink hair changes everything. Interestingly, the guy and girl have the same hair and eye colors.

both yuno and 02 have similar personalities. Obviously yuno is much more of a yandere, but 02 has those moments where she goes crazy and does some aggressive things and is also madly in love with her darling

in the middle of both shows, the SAME EXACT thing happens: the guy gets hurt as a result of the girl's overly ambitious actions, then the girl tries to reach out but the guy rejects her as a result of his friends. This is a major point of the story (In future diary it's the episode where yukki and his friends leave the abandoned building that yuno trapped him in. In DITF it's when Hiro is hospitalized after Strelizia goes berserk, and 02 sees him but Hiro calls her a monster)

in both shows, the romance is kind of uncalled for because it's a mystery to the viewer at first why the girl is so in love with the heroin. Later we learn of Hiro's actions as a child and Yukki's conversation with Yuno about their future careers.

There are a lot of unexpected but sort of satisfying ships that manifest. For instance, Mitsuru/Kokoro and minene/nijishima.

In the last couple episodes, a big plottwist occurs and the main character has to fight a completely different villain. (In future diary, it turns out that Yuno was the winner of the first world, which leads to fighting between Minene/Yukki and Yuno/her Murumuru. In DITF, it turns out that the Klaxosours aren't necessarily the bad guys and they have to fight aliens instead).

The ending of both shows have to do with one of the romantic partners desperately searching for the other partner, who was lost due to some supernatural circumstances. (In future diary, 3rd world Yuno has to go to another dimension to find Yukki. In DITF, Hiro must go into space to find 02's bodiless soul which is now attached to Strelizia) read more

some people has been selected to become a god. in order to become a god in both anime they have to fight for it. it's almost the same tipe of gore anime that maybe you looking for and also they have to find an answer to the mystery behind all of the nonsense in their world.

Both about competing to win the title on being god. They both contain murder and annihilation between each other. Both of the main characters in Mirai Nikki and High Rise Invasion form allies. They may not be a romance but certainly have romantic interests contain. Mirai Nikki is a competition to see who will become the next god, just like High rise invasion where both animes both have devices that they could use during the game to gain advantages.

Well from the initial premise, both Mirai Nikki and  Dansai Bunri no Crime Edge involves a twisted game using dangerous objects. These objects has supernatural abilities that can be fatal to opponents when used correctly.

More than that though, the main protagonist from both series has seemingly has an obsession (although different in nature). 

Both series contains a mystery like aura as well given the background of the game that the characters are involved in. Additionally, it seems that the game itself has consequences for losers.

Both series also adds in flavors comedy, drama, action, and inklings of romance between the two main characters from their perspective stories. read more

Kill or be killed. Both anime will give you several characters and then you can bet which character will survive. Main protagonist must find allies to fight enemies, but not all ally can be trusted. Fear, hate, and revenge will cover every character personality. Blood everywhere, and corpse everywhere. Who will survive? Watch and you will know how difficult to survive with other survivors...

Both series are about a bunch of people who are suddenly forced into a situation where it's 'Kill or be killed', and they battle it out until only a couple remain. (or in Mirai Nikki's case, one).

They follow almost the same plot line. Future Diary and Magic Girl Raising Project both have “magic cell phones”, it’s battle royal, they were specifically chosen to fight.
The differences, Future Diary has a Yandere character and it’s much more mature than Magic Girl Raising Project.
Magic Girl Rasing Project is way more cutesy but still have the same elements that all battle royal type anime need to have.
Also, while Future Diary has more of “insightful cell phone”, while in Magic Girl, the girls each have their own specific powers to help them fight.

There is this common link between the two series which is hard to get into without getting into spoilers for 11eyes, yet in some ways the common link is one that is going to vary from person to person, as one person’s favorite character isn’t going to be the favorite character of another person. What I can say though regarding this common link is that I personally have felt a deep connection with the characters of both series, but found myself rooting for said characters. Yet, in this regard, both series are dark, so one should not go in expecting a happy ending.

If you're a fan of that survival game theme, then you'll definitely enjoy this. Mirai Nikki focuses more on a direct linear storyline with 2 MC (2 others joining them later on)  while Bokurano focuses on a storyline that bases on each individual character in a linear storyline. Both contain a lot of action, drama, psychological twists, and horror. Mirai Nikki also focuses a bit on romance between the two main characters.

I've grown disgusted of the word "both". So, let's just say this: Mirai Nikki has quite a few kids (along with plenty of adults) wrapped up in a deathmatch perpetrated by a dying god looking to crown his successor. Where Bokurano portrays people coming to terms with duty and death, Mirai Nikki portrays people willing to part with the core of their being in order to survive. Bokurano employs a more consistent set of laws and concepts to its world, but fails to reach as far off the deep end as MN does as a result.

The art styles of both Anime contain Gothic elements. The story lines are dark. The main characters are nobodies. Technology is in some manner involved. A game is involved that could leave one completely out of the game for good. Things slowly get revealed over time. They also have interesting casts of characters.

They both share a similar characteristic of playing with your emotions, although Mirai Nikki has a much much stronger element of fear added in the mix.  Both have strong plots and dark character backstories that become motives for their struggles.  One could also argue that Mirai Nikki is a perversion of Angel Beats! since the participants are forced to fight each other to alleviate their live's sorrows instead of working together to overcome them.

Both are involved with tournament-survival game, where book owners (Gash Bell)/diary's owners (Mirai Nikki) will have to destroy each other book/diary. 
The winner, which is the last one standing will became king (Gash Bell)/god (Mirai Nikki).
Mirai Nikki is darker than Gash Bell in many prospects including destroying diary will lead to death of the owner, thus owners mostly wouldn't care less to kill each other directly. While in Gash Bell, the demon of the book will return to demon world after destroying the book.

Tbvh this Mirai Nikki isn't even similar to Corpse Party at all.

But it has that psychotic, crazy, mental feeling in it that makes you want to say "This is so messed
up but wtf that was cool as hell." Especially at the end of Corpse Party I was like //woah.

Plus! If you like gore and blood and just crazy psycho characters running around killing people
with wide open eyes and creepy smiles then Mirai Nikki is for you. And to throw in a bonus
you will meet the queen of yandere's: Gasai Yuno. You'll have a blast with her :))

Both animes are about a boy who can't fight on his own and a girl who just goes crazy for him, and defends him all the time. Haiyore Nyaruko-san is less brutal and is more of a comedy genre anime, but I still find some similiarities between these 2 animes.

Same feeling of helpless excitement/tension. Both bring a certain sense of relief when things go right and a feeling of dread when it goes wrong. MCs are a lot alike too. Helpless at first but well rounded and tactical later on.

-Both shows have a lot to deal with supernatural themes
-Both can get rather extreme at times (although this happens more in Mnemosyne than in Mirai Nikki)
-Both have a female lead who is associated with the show (Yuno Gasai in Mirai Nikki, Rin Asogi in Mnemosyne)
-Both happen to have at least one female character who has "god" powers in a way (Mnemosyne has Rin Asogi and Mimi; I can't say who the characters are in Mirai Nikki without spoiling them, but if you've seen Mirai Nikki, you'll know who I'm referring to)
-Both are really scary and violent

These two animes share the really similar game of desperate elimination of each other, the Alice game of Rozen Maiden and the future diary destroying in Mirai Nikki. All participaters are just trying to get to the top at all costs. Only that Mirai Nikki is the bloodier version.

Action, Supernatural, Thriller/Horror, Both anime contains the same genres, Both are a little bit brutal, (Even though on High School Of The Dead they killed zombies? Is that called a brutal?) No wonder, There are some blood shed, Action, Fighting, And I've seen some zombies in Mirai Nikki, Isn't that called a zombie? Or err, Just similar to zombie would be fine, One more thing, Both shows contains Mild Nudity. High School of the dead shows some porn? Or what, Just what they mean "Ecchi" And about the Mirai Nikki, I think less than?

Both really Plot-twisty and exciting to watch.
The main girl characters (AIKA, YUNO) have interest personalities and story twist is main revolved around them.
The main characters really does not have any special powers whatsoever.
Similar Length.
Both has questionable moments about what the main conflict is as well as who or what is the antagonist.
Both Mysterious.
Both really underrated and overlooked animes.

The psychological tension is in both animes. Death parade i guess more. If you like psychological and plot twist animes i have to recommend Death Parade because it's really interesting , not quite similar to mirai nikki but I feel like the mood and theme is same.
In Death parade people are put into very tense situations and from that you can see mental breakdowns and more interesting ''events''.
Have fun watching it, Don't marathon it - Its more interesting 1-2 episodes a day!

Both of these Anime involve a dark storyline from the start. While Mirai Nikki doesn't have actual puzzles, the characters have to figure out a kind of mental logic puzzle when it comes to the other players in the death game. As for Phi Brain, while the death games aren't as drastic, the main characters have to solve the puzzles so that they or other people won't die.

The main similarity shared between the two anime is the theme of "Love."

In both anime, the lead female character loves the leading male protagonist so much. With this, it makes them seem as a stalker/yandere... which is true (It's obviously true in Mirai Nikki as she killed people for the leading male while the leading female in Netoge No Yome acts like one, but never actually kills a person).

"At first, the leading male doesn't care much for her, in fact he views her more of a creep. But over time, he tends to like her more and more." This is true for both anime. 

So if you like the completely obsessive girlfriend, they try this recommendation out.

Both animes are death games, where the last surviving player will win something on a mass scale. To survive the death games, the characters participating are given something to help them succeed. In UBW, the characters have servants, who were once heroic spirits, fend for them. However in Mirai Nikki, the characters have personalised future diaries .

This recommendation may be a stretch, but these two series both gave me weird feelings while watching them. Mysterious Girlfriend X is more light-hearted and lovey-dovey while Mirai Nikki has more of a serious tone to the whole anime. Both series have their main characters obsessed over one another (Yuno and Yukki in Mirai Nikki, Tsubaki and Urabe in MGX). If you liked MGX, I think you should be able to like Mirai Nikki, and vice versa.

Just like Mirai Nikki, Kiseijuu has a lot of gore and bloody scenes, the plot is original and the graphic is awesome just like Mirai Nikki. Both animes have unexpected turns of situation. Also, you may like that little drib of romance inside it that makes the character grow little by little.
