Both series mainly revolve around a girl with pink hair who has a sick obsession with a single individual. Happy Sugar Life is less fantasy focused, but it maintains a similar atmosphere of unsettling delusions and shows the true horror of stalking. You may find yourself sympathizing with morally reprehensible characters, or enjoy watching the train-wreck unfold as the possessive yandere characters struggle for power and control.
They both have a crazy/chaotic main female character who would go to all lengths including murder for the one they love. (Also known as yandere)

If you like your psychotic Yandere anime, give Happy Sugar Life a go. The shows have different premises but the-send-shivers-down-your-spine type yandere madness where they find common ground.
They both have the signature Yandere MC, but Mirai Nikki takes the format of a death game while Happy Sugar Life takes the format of a kidnapping story.
While there are tremendous differences between the two, both emphasize the yandere mindset in a very detailed manner. Mirai Nikki presents the absolute dedication and obsession of a yandere. Happy Sugar Life shows the motivation and purpose that could drive someone to become a yandere.
In a way this makes the differences a good thing, because if you feel like exploring a different side to a yandere, then the other series is a good one to find it.

- Both Yuno and Satou are typical yanderes.
- In these two animes, one main character is defenseless and the other main character protects him/her at any cost.
- Brutal, bloody scenes.
In my opinion, Mirai Nikki is better than Happy Sugar Life but if you like psycho female characters, brutal scenes and deep relationships you must watch HSL.
If you liked Satou, you will almost definitely like Yuno Gasai. They are very similar in their way of thinking. They are both crazy yanderes with unhealthy obsessions and they are not afraid to kill anybody that gets in their way.

The MC is a yandere. She won't let anyone have her loved one even if she kills other people. Dark anime and storyline.

Both of the animes involve someone who will go to extreme lengths to protect their love... both main characters also have an insane side, if you enjoy the horror psychological genres then you'll like both. They also can be a bit disturbing at times so only watch if you are comfortable with that.

Both anime’s have a pink hair yandere girl that will do anything for love including committing crimes. Future Diary has more action in it, but still recommend if you liked Happy Sugar Life.
Both have a Yandere Girl who is sweet and kind at first glance, but when it comes to their object of love and affection will act obsessive and violent. Both Yuno Gasai and Satō Matsuzaka both act sweet and kind to on-lookers at the start. But when someone were to get involved or get in the way of their object of affection (Yuno with Yuki and Sato with Shio) they become violently aggressive and murderous. Though Yuno's body count is definitely higher than Sato's, what Sato brings to the table, in terms of obsessiveness and possessiveness, rivals even Yuno's. Anyone who enjoyed Happy Sugar Life

If you enjoyed Mirai Nikki, than you'll love Happy Sugar Life for sure! Both have a yandere after all. One difference with Mirai Nikki however is that in Happy Sugar Life the yandere is more psychological, so to say. But all in all, it'll be an amazing watch experience for all you yandere fans! And it's only 12 episodes so it won't take you too long to finish it either.

Both these anime are about a psycho Yandere who is willing to do anything for the person they love.
In Mirrai Nikki, Yuno Gasai is in love with Yukiteru Amano who she protects and helps during the huge battle royal to decide the next god. More action and mystery with a lot of brutality and less psychological aspects to it.
In Happy Sugar Life, Satou Matsuzaka peruses love by going out and sleeping with random guys but ends up falling for a little girl names Shio Koube. She protects her from creeps and other people who may harm her but goes to far even killing people who

Mirai Nikki is a divisive topic among anime fans. But if you've seen it and need your fix of pink haired yandere that will do anything for the one she loves, then Happy Sugar Life will definitely fill that void.
The themes in Happy Sugar Life are much darker than in Mirai Nikki and places a lot more of it's focus on the characters. But the legacy Mirai Nikki has made will outlast that of Happy Sugar Life.
Mirai Nikki and Happy Sugar Life both have yandere as their main character. They are extremely protective over the other main character, and the wish of the yandere is that they can end up happy and together with the other main character, without any “obstacles” in their way.
They have the same type of premise about a pink haired yandere who will do anything including killing others in order to protect the one they love.

This two anime are top tier psychological anime.The MC in both anime are girl and they do what they what even killing for that matter.In my opinion this makes this two anime similar and worth watching if your a fan for psychological genre.

Basicaly, Happy Sugar Life is a "Mirai Nikki on steroids".
Mirai Nikki is more focused on the story and character developement, whereas, Happy Sugar Life focuses more on the Yandere character herself.
