I love animes that have a soul in them, intrigue me or involve me or are enjoyable. It should either be extremely well executed simple concept or a brilliant concept, I love One piece and naruto among the weekly airing animes. Bleach always pisses me off with the stupid and an age long filers and the author has run out of creative gas.
Mawaru penguindrum, Baccano, Fullmetal alchemist are some anime that i believe are masterpieces and transcend imagination. I love MP especially for the kind unique and awe inspiring vibe it created and i believe its way ahead of its time or it has timeless beauty. MP is the kind of series for which you'd like fall in love with creators and not just appreciate them. Baccano it way different from other series and it somehow creates mystery vibes without making the atmosphere dull and actually making it more enjoyable, hats of to the creators for creating such insane characters and story where they can fit in. Fullmetal Alchemist was an intense story, the only one where emotions of dark beings, monsters like homunclus and darker nature of humans were put justly and i loved it for that.
Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya is yet another tiltle i love to love, it tops the list of tsundere, comedy and insanly unbelievable character. There are many characters like Haruhi out there, arrogant, blunt, tsundere, selfish and generally authors try to make them lovable and sometimes enviable. Well in this series it has been nailed properly and yet again its how the author created the situation around the characters that mattered.
Topping my comedy list is Baka to test and school rumble with Historiy's strongest desciple kenichi making their places in my heart and memory. I love these because they did what the comedies are supposed to and for someone who is willing to appreciate it. Ouran Host club was a nice story and i like it for its originality.
I hate bullshitting in an anime, meaning the one with nothing original, that which take help of cliches and those that give me the feel "ah! not again" or "oh! i already know whats gonna happen next". Belonging to this category are titles like Mirai Nikki and Mayo chiki. I saw them for timepass.
I dont like animes with unbelievable psucological situations introduced just because the author wanted to make them gory or gross or whatever the trend is. Emphasis again is on how well the situation is created.
Hellsing(the older one) is one such anime which has a perfect balance of simple story focusing on a legend like character, coolness and violence. The violent atmosphere here complements the characters perfectly. Gantz was pure gore and aim was also that so its alright.
I loved Hajime no ippo series, Code geass series, Hunter x Hunter, Deathnote and Nodame cantabile for the interest they manage to create by going into the details or strategies and tactics where they were involved. These did justice to the genre they belong to.
I hate the series that claim to go deeper into the darker nature of humans and end up creating shitty atmosphere where no character is believable and just to insane. Gantz claimed to such a series, I enjoyed though didn't think much of the claim.
Coming to slice of life K-on was simply too slicy. And about romance or shojo type animes, I think lovely complex did a decent job, Itazura no kiss should've avoided cliches, Bokura ka ita was brilliant but i dropped it as i realised same shit's happen after a point, it was selling a dream pretty well untill it tried to do something different and obvious. Fruits basket deserves a mention here it was the best i've seen of shojo demography.
I tend to avoid the kind of series where you actually don't enjoy at all but in some moods i'm drawn to them. These are series like Monster, Mouryo no haka, Stein's gate. And i just couldn't get across, Boggiepop phantom and serial experiment lain and had to drop them.
Mononoke was pure art and Samurai champloo was too. They aren't comparable though they are different art pieces with different expressions shown.
I couldn't get to start Aria series too it seems so slow that i had to drop it in first episode itself. i had done the same for One Piece earlier but eventually i knew i had to see it. Dont feel the same towards Aria series though. Same goes for Eureka seven
I watched and enjoyed Maid sama, Vampire Knight, Kuroitsuji, D grayman, Pandora hearts etc because they were the light not much intense or appriciable yet enjoyable and good for timepass
Last but not the least the epics of anime world such as One Piece and Guin Saga, I believe are the animes where virtues like bravery, courage, wisdom etc are glorified justly. In other anime they are just thrown around making the characters so unnatural and inconsistent and making the story bumpy.
So if you think you could know me by the above make recommendations for me or be a friend if you find it interesting...And btw the profile pic is my own eye captured by my brother from camera and stylised by me...:)

if you get bored and K pops up in your mind, maybe you can give it another try with a whole new perspective
I think every anime deserves some imagination from the audience. The only reason you didn't come to the conclusion I did is because how you approached K is different from how I approached it. Your approach wasn't wrong and my approach isn't right either.
But before dismissing K as offering nothing, you need to keep in mind your approach influenced how you saw it.
I wrote you because I think if you change your approach, you'll see K differently.
What do you like about Luffy? He's pretty stupid most of the time, right?
But to me he is also the clearest in the head. One Piece never explicitly showed it. It's only through his actions I came to that conclusion.
I judged the characters of K similarly.
But I'm a serious hardcore One Piece fan so I can't bring myself to resent your review even though it's prejudiced.
