yeah i mean the first problem was TMS being picked as the studio, i don't like them. but i still think this doesn't look as bad as i expected. i'm fine with this level right now because the story is kinda more goofy at the moment, but when things get serious and the main story kicks off from deathrow prisoners arc, they need to do better. i think the fight choreography in ep 1 and 2 were not bad, just some problems like slow mo scenes when it's not needed and no slow mo when it actually is need (that one part where sakamoto took apart that gun) and some proportions looking off. i don't mind skipping some episodic chapters at the start tho because it doesn't do much for the story, it's apparent that by skipping, they wanted to do a thing where a new character gets introduced every episode to keep people's interest locked in. the limited animation is definitely obvious but i feel like my expectations were so low that even this level is not too bad for me. it's not great but watchable. like i said, as long as they somehow do better from deathrow prisoners arc, i'll be fine but if they don't then i'll definitely be more concerned

it's not as great as i hoped it to be generally, but this episodic parts of the manga was kinda slow so i don't mind it for now. it's enjoyable enough for the tone it has at the moment. deathrow prisoners arc is where the main story really picks up imo so that's where i'm hoping they really start doing their best from

what about you?

As a manga read, I'm certainly conflicted. I mean, I thought the animation would be the biggest worry, and thankfully it's not as bad as I thought it would be, but it's definitely not the best either, but the fact that they skipped over chapters is what really irked me...

Not only did they skip some good development for Sakamoto and Shin, but they even cut out the chapter that the baddie officer showed up in... Only two episodes in, and I'm certainly not optimistic about this adaption at all.

Though, at least from PVs, it looks (and I HOPE) that they've prioritized the amusement park arc, so that's decent, I guess.

What do you think though lols? Excited for Hanako-kun later today bud?

i appreciate you reaching out to me for this, and sorry for the late response! me personally I found myself inside of tokio and I found my boyfriend in azuma, and I find myself always inserting into stories as I find that all stories are inherently intrapersonal. I also feel like early on there are some homoerotic feelings being shared between the characters of tokio and azuma in the moonbeast arc. along with those, later on when azuma said that he would start dating ely, it didnt feel like a announcement of love, but instead him talking to tokio and telling him that he has to move on from the feelings he has for him, and fall into a stereotype to live free from him. thought I do understand how it can be viewed as not gay due to japans homophobic culture in some of its areas, but I hope this helped!

yeah it's called baccano and it was narita's first LN, he also went on to write durarara which is another one that i really enjoyed and he even wrote a LN on bleach called CFYOW which is pretty popular. narita gets approached to do a lot of work on other series since he's one of the best novelists in japan and now i finally started reading FSF, i'm loving it already

much appreciated! tokyo ghoul re is my favorite of the two and ive yet to catch up on much of Choujin X as of late. But when I get the chance to binge, ho boy is that the next series i binge read. Ichigo is an amazing character as well, I just have reread the manga in awhile since I was younger. Maybe rereading that would refresh my perspective on his character.
ryzxgum Aug 20, 2024 10:22 PM
yes i did see that strange fake prologue, i absolutely loved it! thing is, i didn't even know the artstyle was gonna look so different from FSN and zero, yet it still looked amazing in it's own way. i'm planning to read the LN as soon as i'm done with the one i'm currently reading- which also happens to be by the same guy who wrote strange fake, but with 9 volumes still left before i can get to FSF, i have a lot on my plate lmao

speaking of fixed endings and added scenes, i've heard people say that jjk might also have to do the same by the time the anime reaches it's ending. seeing as how there's only 5 chapters left to wrap everything up

i agree with that take about sakadays anime sadly, well i'm not the biggest fan of elusive samurai but i do think something of the amazing sakuga definitely clears what little we've seen of the sakadays pv so far. my only hope/cope is that they're holding back the ''really good'' looking stuff for when the anime comes out lol. but yeah so far it's not looking good. the most exciting thing about it for me is sugita voicing sakamoto, he became my favorite VA after his performance as gintoki so at least that's something for me to look forward to

ryzxgum Aug 12, 2024 10:17 PM
haha thanks! yeah love fate but i need to rewatch it sometimes tbh since it's been a while. i did finally watch the saber route earlier this year tho, found it a lot better than most people said. now i'm just excited for strange fake

i don't hate bleach btw, soul society is my favorite arc by a landslide. the earlier parts of the series are still my favorite, back when orihime was still eating plain bread in class and rukia was sleeping in the closet lol. tokyo ghoul: re is another one i don't remember much of because it's been so long, but disliking it definitely seems to be a cold take

but yeah don't mind my taste, i'm just very particular lmao. good to see you with one piece, csm and sakadays also in favorites. even naruto

Sorry for such the late response bud.

But yeah, hearing and seeing that Kubo's changing so much things in TYBW make me happy. Hoping that this delay they had for cour 3 was used well because this is around where I started to not like the TYBW. I also have faith that Kubo will cook and make the ending better, even just slightly. It's sad what was going on in Shounen Jump back in the day, but thankfully nowadays, Shounen Jump is a bit more nice to their employees and treats them like actual humans.

Shounen fans have been FEASTING this year and next year seems to be no different. I'm not really liking Elusive as much as I thought I was going to. It's a bit too generic for me at least. I do like all the early Japan setting and I think that whole thing is my favorite part of the show. CloverWorks have been cooking at least when it came to the first three episodes... don't know what happened now with all that CGI. CloverWorks has gotten better and redeemed themselves after the disasters that were HoriMiya, Promised Neverland S2, and Wonder Egg in the beginning of the decade, but they're still not perfect.

Really excited for Dandadan, I'm going to the premiere later at the end of the month that's how exited I am. Was told that between SakaDays and Dandadan from a friend that SakaDays would probably the one to read between the two because of how shit the anime looks lol. According to leaks as well the production is already in shambles. I'm starting my SakaDays journey tomorrow now that my five volumes finally came in. I'll be sure to update and let ya know what I think.

Ha thanks. Sadly I haven't read Tokyo Ghoul yet, but I know once I do it'll be up there. And I wanted to put Bleach in my tops, but I didn't really like the ending too much, but apparently the anime'll have an original ending, so maybe I'll like it then who knows lol.

Looking forward to talking more :D

Princess Tutu's not like Evangelion, it simply did all the themes and stuff better. It's actually pretty wholesome and dark comedy centric but it has great mystery around it

Gungrave is a less appreciated masterpiece
Feitan_exe May 18, 2024 8:10 PM
Evangelion failed where Princess Tutu shined the most, It's basically Evangelion but not depressing just wholesome with smart humor and great characters

Dk Gungrave is pretty rare among watchers, some just have an unjust hate on the second half of the series, These people don't get it that the second half was supposed to be like that cause it has to at least replicate the original videogame to be called Gungrave. Plus the ending was so much better even tho 2nd half was like ok really good and the first half was brilliant but the ending was just amazing and perfectly suits the overall series and a perfect closure to the series

Oh, ok. I read the synopsis and it sounds like it got some potential to be interesting. The rating is kinda low but since I’ve never read it I can’t really form an opinion on it. And yes, the author of FMA is a female.
It’s time to ditch the text file.
