I've gotten into writing reviews lately, so here's my typical mindset with scoring and some examples.
(10) I absolutely adored the anime to a great extent and in my opinion, it had zero flaws in the writing, execution, story, etc. If I rate something a 10 it is instantly put into my favourites list, I also will not put something in my favourite unless I thought it was a 10/10 (with some exceptions but ill get to that later). I would recommend this anime to anyone and everyone. These are the animes that made me walk away in deep thought, or with a deep smile. or more often than not, drenched in tears.
Examples: Violet Evergarden, Konosuba, Your Name, When the Cicadas Cry.
(9) I loved the anime a lot, it had great writing, storytelling, execution, however, there were a few flaws that stuck out. Nothing detrimental that halted my enjoyment too much, but enough for me to notice a little. Maybe a weak episode, an extremely minor plot hole, a couple cringy or odd dialogues, the ending felt a little off. But again not enough to have a big effect.
Examples: Erased, The Future Diary, A Silent Voice, RE: Zero.
(8) I really liked the anime, maybe even loved it, it was very enjoyable and I'd probably recommend it to people. However, I wasn't completely over the moon about the anime ether. While the execution was very good, there were minor noticeable flaws or things lacking that prevented it from being rated higher. For example, maybe one of the side characters was a little annoying, the actions of the protags didn't make perfect sense, storytelling was a little rough at times, maybe it was a little weird, an episode or two was a little boring, maybe the anime was just a tad drawn out or rushed, or perhaps I felt the ending could have been better. These are animes I walk away from with enjoyment (and maybe even some emotion) but not really something I'll think about after a month.
Examples: Rascal Does Not Dream of Bunny Girl Senpai, Mysterious Girlfriend X, Love, Chunibyo & Other Delusions! The Case Study of Vanitas
(7) Most anime so far for me fall within a seven. It was good, I liked it but there were actual noticeable flaws that rubbed me the wrong way. Still not enough to make me not enjoy it but enough to make me not REALLY enjoy it. It was just good, that's about it. Maybe the ending was disappointing or the story wasn't the best, there were some plot holes, etc. I walk away knowing I enjoyed it but I wouldn't normally recommend it or think about it much after a week.
Examples: Toradora, High School DxD, Angel Beats!
(6) I thought the anime was OK, I enjoyed it a little bit but kinda felt I could have spent my time better doing something else. Perhaps I found it a little boring or disappointing but it might have had some redeeming moments, concepts, or perhaps I simply didn't like the execution of the ideas. doesn't mean the anime is bad, it was ok just not my cup of tea.
Example: Don't Toy with Me, Miss Nagatoro
(5) five is an odd rating. It would have to be an anime that was not bad, but also not good either. An anime with no redeeming qualities but also no aspects that sink it into the "this was bad" category. To be honest I've never watched an anime that walked this fine line between a good piece of work and a bad anime.
(4-3) I didn't like it, I got very little enjoyment out of it and walked away very disappointed. However, maybe there were some good concepts, animation, or something that made me want to stick around to the end to see where it goes. Even though I didn't like it I can still see that the anime might be good to others or work well for an audience that wasn't me. I would never recommend it but id understand if someone liked the anime.
Examples: Evangelion, Saga of Tanya the Evil .
(2-1) "Jesus Christ what did I just watch". The anime was so bad, so awful or disgusting I wouldn't recommend it to anyone unless it was for a prank. This anime has zero good concepts or appealing aspects in my opinion and the people who made it should, in fact, feel bad. I don't understand why people would like the anime and I would judge anyone who did.
Examples: The Future Diary: Redial, Redo of Healer.
**exceptions in my complicated, over-worded rating system and favourite list**
-A 10/10 for me lands it as a favourite, however, I won't list it in my favourites if it is a sequel/prequel/spinoff of a an original piece I also gave a 10. This is just to save space. Putting all of Konosuba or When the cicadas cry would pretty much fill every favourite spot on its own.
-As stated, if I don't rate something a 10/10 it will not be in my favourites list, however, there are a few exceptions. (As of now one in particular) An anime that may have clear flaws and issues may make its way into my favourites on how much I simply enjoyed it, despite the fact I know it's not anywhere near perfect. For example, the future Diary. I couldn't bring myself to give it a 10. I was fully aware it wasn't a masterpiece by any means but id be lying if I said I didn't absolutely have a spectacular time watching it.
In saying that I'm honestly quite biased towards greek tragedies, tragedies in general, tearjerkers, emotional works, Dramas, etc.,
Oh and lastly, my reviews may have a handful of spelling mistakes or issues with grammar. While I am a university student in social science thus spend most of my time writing papers, I'm still dyslexic as shit nonetheless.

Hmm... Checking my complete browsing history, I'm not sure how I even stumbled upon your account. The site before you is just the official MAL for Plastic Memories. Maybe it was a bug?
> > I'm actually still currently in the prosses of writing a draft for the review I'm planning to post on MAL.
Cool, good luck on that, I'll be waiting for it.
> > I'm quite happy that you were able to push past my immense spelling and grammar errors, as said in some of my reviews I am dyslexic so it's nice to know people are looking past that when reading what I put out.
Even though I'm not a doctor, all I want to say is, please don't ever blame yourself or your dyslexic for your troubles in typing a review. Everyone has their strength and weaknesses, and if I do say so myself, your review has barely any mistakes.
Anyways, it was great talking with you, looking forward for your newest reviews.
Even though I do disagree on such a high score, I agree with your point of view, great Mirai Nikki & Konosuba review too
Nice job, keep up with the great reviews!
If you think this comment is offensive, I am sorry.
Everything about the story makes it interesting to watch, from the cliffhanger from the first season to the plot twists throughout the show. The ending of Code Geass was well done, definitely a masterpiece of an anime to watch.
I found your Future Diary review in MAL homepage.
Our opinions about this series is quite similar. In fact, the main series was really entertaining. On other hand Redial was trash.
BTW are you watching something interesting?
And also apologies for not replying promptly.
