As you can guess by the name, I am a basic pleb. I chose the number 420 because "LMAO, smoke weed every day."
Since I'm a basic pleb, I'm always open to recommendations, so if you think there's a show I absolutely must see, let me know.
I'm always willing to accept friend requests. I'm trying to get a more rounded palette, and having more friends will certainly do that.
So I've seen 250 anime (well, actually 267 as of current, but whatever). Thusly, here are my 10 favorite anime EDs. Also, admittedly, these are the only EDs I really remember.
10. I had a hard time deciding what the 10th ED would be, but ultimately I decided to go for the ED for Rainbow. GAR was something this list was missing, and this ED fills that need. Also, I just enjoy it.
9. If there's one thing Rumiko Takahashi series are good at, it's memorable music. This ED from Maison Ikkoku is my favorite from the series. I love the hollow sound. It's as if it's coming from some lonely basement bar.
8. I saw School Rumble a while back, so the fact that I remember the ED for the first series is a sign it's something special. Catchy, upbeat, amusing, quirky, fast, much like the show itself.
7. This rather rambunctious ED is from Welcome to the N.H.K.!. The lyrics, about a desire to return to the womb, can be something we sadly relate to some of the time. However, I chose this more for the sound and just the oddness of the visuals.
6. The first ED for Mawaru Penguindrum might be one that surprises some, but I genuinely love the shoegaze-esque aesthetic of the track. Forget that. YouTube deleted the video, so uh, here's the ED for Gungrave, which I enjoy as well.
5. You knew I had to include this somewhere on the list. The music, along with everything else, is one of the key factors that draw people to Cowboy Bebop. I may move it higher up the list, so be on the lookout for that.
4. Azumanga Daioh is an excellent pick-me-up and this wonderful ending song is sure to keep you smiling after all the fun is over. It's a little hard to put into the words the feelings I have for this track, but I love it.
3. We come to the ED of yet another Rumiko Takahashi series on this list. Truth be told, if I were to fill this list with all the Urusei Yatsura EDs I liked, half of this list would be Urusei Yatsura ("Koi no Mobius" receives a very honorable mention), but I decided to be fair to the other shows and only pick the one I liked most, and that would be the infinitely catchy "Cosmic Cycler."
2. Using gentle music and tranquil images during the end credits of an intense series is a rather well-known gimmick, but for Now and Then, Here and There, it actually works. After seeing Shu be brought down to his knees by Hamdo and his army, it's good to have this to take the edge off and remind you that survived another episode. It's simple but it's memorable and achingly gorgeous, at least for me. The still images of a peaceful Japanese town especially drive home the point that Shu is very far from his comfort zone. This song, along with everything else about NTHT, cements the series' standing as a masterpiece in my mind. (Note: I picked this version because it had the highest definition and the lyrics were present, although the last six seconds were cut off.)
1. What else did you think the #1 pick was going to be?
Hey, there! I came across your profile in a random discussion thread as I was instantaneously drawn to your username. It's rare to see someone with such a modest namesake these days; I've seen tons of overzealous "weebs" revel in their own self-glorification as they go under all sorts of online guises that aren't reflective of their true selves in the slightest. It saddens me to think that hardly a day goes by where a bunch of unacquainted people talk with one another about topics they show a mutual interest in over the internet.
I'm just trying to keep up with classes and work for the semester, I actually just had a snow day on Tuesday which was awesome since Tuesday's I'm on campus from 8:30am-10:45pm so that was a nice day off for me. I'm taking 2 drawing classes now so I can get back into drawing and everything. I'm also going to a smash tournament on Friday which is coincidentally on my birthday, but besides that nothing really new for me
