I think not many were expecting Asuka x Kumiko in that last episode; with little to no interaction between Kumiko/Reina and Shuichi getting more screen time, almost everyone was expecting a het ending. Kyoani got us good I guess. :D
I neither like nor dislike Reina so I am indifferent to her character development. But I do agree that the way it was handled left her fans displeased. I had a feeling that if kyoani decided to ruin its yuri ship then it would be through Reina's crush. The ship sailed with her actions and sank with her actions too. what can I say. :/
Agreed. Mimi story complicated it a bit or the show became predictable, that it got dull but last ep was enjoyable at least.
Yeah you should check it out. They were very pleased with it at dynasty reader too. =)
Next season: I am not planing to watch it as it airs. RL and stuff. So I haven't checked out its shows or their previews. I'll give you a heads up if I found anything tho (other than the above two). and If you are planning to watch kuzu no honkai then I'll suggest to go there as an observer without expectations till the end.
Sorry for being late but that's how it is with me. I am late in my replies these days. >_<
Yup I've finished them too now; and yes they both got meh except Flip Flappers, which kinda redeemed itself in its last episode. I was not really surprised/disappointed with Hibiki; didn't buy kyoani's bait. Just watched it to see if they will do something new or will remain their trolling self like before. :/ Still they avoided the het route (since it was not developed enough) which surprised me a little. I am not sure about Kumiko x Asuka. I think Kumiko's words can go either way - reasons can be given about it being platonic or romantic. But if the same words have been said to /Shuichi or any other guy/ male recipient then would the het lovers say the same thing? i.e just platonic love; nothing to worry about. heh.
I am a bit indifferent about their next shows now tho.
I liked the /yuri/subtext/ in Izetta, Long Riders, Keijo, wixoss (mostly ep 11), Girlish Number, Stella no Mahou and Vivid Strike. MS Ikusei had all girls cast and like other Magical Girl shows, I was expecting some good yuri/subtext from it but it didn't happen. Tho I liked its latter half because of its story developments.
The show I liked the most this season was Ping Pong Girls. It made the most of its yuri potential and avoided platonic sportsmanship we often see in sports anime. Also the whole cast was divided into yuri pairs; what more can we ask for. xD I commend the studio's guts for going all out with its subtext. MCs were even more yurified. xD
Had high expectations about Brave Witches but it didn't delivered. Doesn't have strong yuri like its parent series. May be not even the half of it I'd say. :(
That's my review of the yuri shows I watched this season.
Fine here too. ^__^ Ok. Was it good? Sports anime aren't my thing so I didn't watch it. I finished Bubuki Buranki - Meh, MS Ikusei - brutal but ok, thus far and have Izetta and vivid strike's last episodes in my drive but have yet to watch them. It is pretty? late here so am planning to watch them tomorrow. (Have logged out but came back to edit a post of mine and saw your comment so the quick reply. lucky aren't you? xDDD)
I am gonna go to bed now, so good night. will be back to discuss yuri shows next time (if it is okay with you that is).

Good to see Shinji in your favourite list.
