Sorry for the very late reply, didn't notice there was a function like this. My problem is the endless upping of power level, the first two(?) arces were fine, the first one mostly based on physical strenght and the second one on learning a new stile martial arts which empowered the already existing technic. The as far as I remember it became ridiculous with martial arts turning into magic, and the whole thing becoming new stronger enemy show up, MC powers up, beats enemy, then new stornger enemy shows up, etc. To give a similiar example, in One Piece the same thing happens, I dropped it somewhere along the line, but I still remember Luffy beating the shit out someone then the next guys being so much stronger that he can't even touch him. I just find it laughable that each new enemy is so much stronger that he can effortlesly annihilate everything in the previous area. You can't just name someone strongest of the world, then have the MC shit on him, only to be shit on by the next guy that appears. Same thing happens for a lesser extent in HxH, normal "human" fighting, get special abilities, then it's just the special ability raised until infinity with no end in sight and every fight is just a beatdown contest.
Basically, yeah. She's just not as engaging as a character. I have this little theory that Subaru's love at first sight towards Emilia may have something to do with the Witch of Envy. Or it could just be that the author didn't quite succeed in portraying that character the way he feels about her.
I have been reading the web novel. She's about to get some development in arc 4, I think.
Ah, I see you are a man of culture as well :3
Your profile is looking good, simple and clean. Was kinda thinking about updating mine but that Rem pic is just too perfect.
My friend, thanks for the kind words. I serve only to bring the truth to the masses who seemingly aren't capable of comprehending. I've been amazed at the wealth of feedback I've received from this one review. I feel like I actually am somehow making a difference in this dark, directionless abyss
Unfortunately, that thread is gone now. A moderator came along and shut it down. Surprise surprise, still no word about anything review related. They're just trying to ignore it long enough that maybe we'll forget and just let it die. Not happening for myself and some others. Time shall tell.
Thanks. I actually haven't given up reviewing like I swore... it's just ingrained in me now- but the effects on it are awful now. I've posted I think, two reviews for non seasonal shows (meaning finished airing a while back) and I've gotten a sum total of 7 votes for both. I did get 17 and 23 on two seasonal ones, which are decent numbers, but it's always a swell when the season ends. The rest is just pathetic.
Sorry for the late response, but these are practically my exact thoughts.
I fail to see any real positives in this other than narcissistic childlike coddling where everyone gets to be a special snowflake, they can never be told "no". Guess what? Society doesn't work that way. It will curb and cull the things that are not found to be acceptable.
Instead of a simple agreeance or disagreeance, now it's the same as in North Korea, and kineta has set herself up as Kim jong un. Either you agree with your glorious leader, or you stay silent. There is no disagreeance. That's the site and the review section in essence now. That's not voting, that's not feedback. It's BS.
I'm also incredibly baffled at the lack of transparency (read: totally expected.)
In the verbiage kineta wrote, it said future updates "coming soon." Soon? What the hell does soon mean? Is this soon in geological time? Soon means, to me, about a week, or less. Not almost a month and not a single word while other parts of the site receive updates. I posted on the "currently airing update" forum page, "why is this gathering attention and updates while the review section is ignored?" and she fires back saying I'm spamming and off topic. Please.
I have a feeling they won't go back. I bet that data on downvotes was dumped long ago. Unless they have a restore point but then everything new will be lost (not much of a loss if you've looked at the review pages in recent days.)
The answer to the question you posed on the forum, rhetorical or not, is that neither Kineta, nor the mods, nor anyone in a position of power gives a care. They don't. Or they' d have consulted the community before. I asked this question earlier and got a lot of sarcastic responses, but it's plainly obvious that it's just whatever goes around here.
I was in the middle of watching this series! I was starting episode 3 when I remembered how I responded to your message here and came to see if you replied! I am enjoying it and it looks like it will be a great anime! Thanks for the recommendation! Im watching it in full HD at funimation!
I just noticed this message, I had no idea there was a comment section on my profile! I have been thinking about it. I am a big romance anime person so I honestly been watching anime with romance in it. I heard Mirai Nikki has romance, but on MAL it doesn't have the romance genre.
Totally agree. You know though, where I found the MOST problem was how the ENTIRETY of SAO I was setting us up for a DEEP, MEANINGFUL, INTERESTING relationship between Asuna and Kirito. By the end of SAO I, I'm pretty sure everyone was sold on the amazing relationship that had been born. In fact, the day I finished the last episode of season 1, I remember squealing a little because I was so excited to see where this went next season. And then it happened. Season 2. What do we get? 24 EPISODES AND LIKE TWO AT THE MOST HAD ANYTHING EVEN REMOTELY TO DO WITH ASUNA AND KIRITO AS A COUPLE. I GUESS THE DIRECTOR DECIDED IT WAS OKAY TO TRASH ALL THE POTENTIAL THEY HAD TO BUILD SOMETHING GREAT WITH THEM. god
