Say I Love you is very simalar, both Sawako and Mei have similar personalities. And like Kimi ni Todoke, it is an all round sweet anime and worth the time to watch all 13 episodes. I loved it so much I have bought the series on dvd :)

Both Kimi ni Todoke and Lovely Complex both deal with a very awkward love between two individuals that progresses very slowly. And during the show, the side characters support the two main characters and have their own little romantic dramas. The characters and style of the show feel very similar, even though lovely complex is a little more comedic than Kimi ni Todoke, both have their funny moments...Sawako and Risa make the most interesting facial expressions!

The main female characters in both animes are pretty similar. Starting off with appearances, they both have that sort of hairstyle that makes them alike. When they go to school, students around, find them quite scary based on their appearances. The only things that are different about them is the fact that, Sadako is actually creepy at times to whereas Sawako is quite kind and sweet. They both have that awkward and shy personalities. They fall in love with boys who are considered good looking, super popular, and very well liked. Yamoto Nedeshiko Schichi Henge is more focused on comedy, compared to how Kimi ni  read more

Both are slow developing romances, but leave large impacts on your heart and mind and are full of drama-- making you want to claw your screen to pieces :] (but we all know that's why we love the drama)

The premises are, without exaggeration, identical: Slice of Life shows about a high schooled-aged girl (with a hime-cut) who finds herself dealing with severe self-esteem and communication issues, to the point of affecting her overall reputation with her peers much to her dismay. Out comes a classmate, a boy who the girl quickly finds herself falling for, and who successfully identifies her problem. The boy becomes invested in helping her overcome her difficulties, and with his help, the main girl finds the resolve to become more outgoing little by little, making more friends, and eventually becoming romantically linked with her savior. Furthermore, both main girls  read more

Though the Heroine of the Tonari no Kaibutsu-kun is uncaring compared to KNT's heroine, the experience and story it portrays are extremely similar. Experiencing different feelings for the first time, learning to make friends, enjoying High School life to the fullest, etc...

Feeling of a shy little girl (not good at social) falling in love with a popular boy in Hiyokoi is like Sawako (not good at social) falling in love with Kazehaya (popular boy) in Kimi ni Todoke. Except there's no rivals to fight against in Hiyokoi.

These are both romance stories that feature one of the characters with a somewhat difficult social situation. It would be spoilers to explain, but know that in both cases, the female lead has some sort of psychological barrier that must be overcome in order for the romance to proceed properly. Kimi ni Todoke is more blatantly romantic, whereas Isshuukan Friends is more about friendship, as the title suggests. (Still a romance though).

Both are romance and i suppose both have hints of humor, its too early to tell yet about kimi no todoke but its probably going to have a clannad like ending as so many animes have now

- both are romance & comedy - have a similar wholesome feeling - feature an awkward female protagonist & a very popular male MC - center around finding friendship

Kare Kano begins with two characters who don't realize that they have fallen for each other. As the series develops, the characters learn, grow, and come to accept themselves (and each other) just as they are. The theme of character growth is similarly laid out in Kimi ni Todoke.

In both shows there are characters that have social struggles with their classmates. The relationship between main characters is also similar, as the male lead is more "happier" type of person and the female lead more "timid" type of person. In both shows the female leads both surprise you so if you have seen one, give other a try :)

Right now I am madly in love with Kimi ni Todoke. WHY?? Well because it reminds me so much of my favorite anime series... Honey and Clover. Although the stories are really different from one another they both have the same feel and tone (right down to the pastelly art style ^_^ ). Both series focus on a central theme of self discovery and friendship and love. The type of humor in both series is very similar too and both series have a knack for giving you lovely portrayals of the characters' thoughts and feelings.

Both are about navigating love and romance in a very realistic and overly sensationalized way.

While Kimi Ni Todoke is more "slice of life" and less fantasy than Fruits Basket, they have a similar feel. The protagonist is a girl who is very sweet, and her kindness (or some might say naivety) touches the hearts of the people around her. Furuba is a little bit sillier; KimiTo toes the line on being a bit too saccharine. Tohru and Sadako both have two good girlfriends who are somewhat of social outcasts; Arisa and Chizu are VERY similar characters. Both series have a pretty soft color palette, although personally I think the art in KimiTo is a bit better. If you  read more

Both are cute romantic comedies revolving around a girl who is different and alienated. Both girls are eventually able to become sociable and feel comfortable with they way they are. This is because they both have a respective boy who is crazy about them and wants to help them :D

Although they differ in the genre, both animes give you a peaceful happy feeling. They also are about friendship and bonds. The main charas, Natsume and Sawako are also alike: they are very shy and at the beggining have a hard time, because they cant express themselves and so other people think of them as weird persons, but with the help of their friends they slowly start to open their hearts.
report Recommended by Orulyon
The main character is very introverted, however she is strong and has a good heart. The story plays out in a very cool, flirtatious high school manner with a pace that is neither too fast, and not too slow. Very emotional and humourous anime.

They both have the same atmosphere, high school romance.

Despite the fact that one show is open shoujo and the other is just shoujo-ish shonen, both shows are good SoL representations of teenage relationships and the problems that can arise from them. While Kimi ni Todoke focuses on the problems of young girls' socialization, Horimiya explores this problem from the male side and also adds a study on the problem of misunderstanding between teenagers.

Chihayafuru greatly reminds me of Kimi ni Todoke. They somehow look similar in terms of art, however Chihayafuru is slightly more detailed than the other. They both give a relaxing feeling whenever you watch them. Kimi ni Todoke mainly focuses on romance, while Chihayafuru focuses on a game called "Karuta". There's a bit of romance as well in Chihayafuru.

Unpopular, shy & awkward-when meeting some girl, sometimes make a scary face but still cute that are Tomoko and Sawako's great personality :) Kimi no Todoke is more romantic and for girls(shoujo) while WataMote is more comedic and for boys(shounen) For first glance it's almost WataMote & Kimi no Todoke same... ridiculously funny sometimes but later it'll be different in deeper episodes escpecially in plot developments I believe if you like WataMote then you'll like Kimi no Todoke or you'll like WataMote if you like Kimi no Todoke

Both the main characters from Ookiku Furikabutte and Kimi ni Todoke are high schoolers that appear as outcasts from their classmates. They first show up as shy and sensitive individuals, but with the help of a close knit of friends, both characters begin to develop and mature into more confident individuals. Both animes do a great job at showing the character development and character interaction. Difference wise, Ookiku is a sports anime centered heavily around shounen baseball. Kimi is a lighter, shoujo romance comedy centered around relationships.

While watching Usagi Drop, I couldn't stop thinking about how much it reminded me of Kimi Ni Todoke. They both have similar artwork, and both series has that light, fluffy, flowery air about them. Both wonderful stories as well, though there's nothing very similar between plot lines.

Both anime focus on hilarious comedy with lots of chibified scenes. Moreover they tell a romance shoujo story. Both female leads are very funny and the male counterparts are no idiots. Those two shows are not your usual romance comedy anime but truly something special.

There's something that stands out with both Golden Time and Kimi ni Todoke. It's not just the romantic comedy aspect or the characters but the way they present themselves with its themes and settings. The main characters' roles are reversed in some ways but they both form a relationship with feelings. Throughout both series, they run into obstacles involving love rivals and personal struggles. Comedy is presented well in both series with character expressions, dialogues, and its relationships. There's a tone of innocence that also feels natural and realistic on various levels.

These two animes have a very sweet romance. That is what really ties them together, along with that the heroines are quite different then most, which makes the story really fun to watch. But the romance is what really makes you continue watching.

Kimi ni Todoke is a very sweet and cute anime. The story relies on the building of the relationships and leaves you smiling. However, it isn't as funny as Ouran High School Host Club but i definitely would recommend it.

Despite of different stories, both have nice art and soft setting and they are about a group of friends from school. I found very similar the relationship between main characters (Oreki and Chitanda, Kazehaya and Sawako) very slow and cute, but Hyouka focuses more on mystery than romance of course.

Both of these series feature outsider protagonists coming out of their shells through the development of a romance with a more outgoing significant other, with 3D Kanojo: Real Girl showing an introvert male paired with a more extroverted girl. Whereas Kimi Ni Todoke was an inversion of that formula featuring an introverted girl with a more extroverted boy. Both shows address social pressures and anxieties in regard to high school/developing young love with charming characters and compelling melodrama that immerses the viewers in their ongoing development.

"Shy girl makes friends" is a common trope for a reason. Amidst other shows with complex plots with morally grey characters, sometimes what I want are simple stories with characters I can whole-heartedly cheer for. Sawako and Akane start as good-natured but lonely students who start opening up more after crossing paths with a popular, thoughtful guy who can appreciate them for who they really are. Both Sawako and Akanes' personal growth is easy to get invested in, and this is the main reason I enjoy both so much. Both male leads are likeable, respectable, but still believably flawed in one way or another. All  read more

Both are romance anime whose main characters are girls that are not typical "girl" types. For example, Nodame is messy and cannot cook for herself. Both couples are extremely cute, but Kimi ni Todoke's romance is more gentle than Nodame Cantabile. Also, if you enjoy music then Nodame Cantabile is a plus!

They both have extremely similar pastel-looking art styles and center around sweet, somewhat angst, romance. Just Aoi Hana focuses on a homosexual relationship, whereas Kimi ni Todoke focuses on a heterosexual relationship.
report Recommended by Master10K
In both animes the female protagonist is an outcast and are negleted and/or bullied by other classmates. However both girls seem to attract the most popular guy in the school despite their social status. They also indure many struggles such as abuse and crude jokes by their classmates and often had to deal with the dangerous jealousies of the other females who felt they were better. I loved both of these anime and it really shows how the underdog despite their disadvantages can be happy and have it all to.

These two might not seem very similar at first glance, but both series have an adorable, very slow pure love story to them. If you enjoy the romance in Emma, I think you might like Kimi ni Todoke and vice versa.

One is shojo romance other is shonen but I felt the same watching both. I mean the sensation of platonic love with both sides being afraid of confessions and making first move. These are not dynamic love stories with sudden changes of heart and quarrels but slowpaced natural development of close relationship.

Kimi ni Todoke has a lot in common with Gokinjo Monogatari. They are both high school love stories, fairly slice of life, and feature adorable chibis. I think the art style is also comparable, though Kimi ni Todoke is certainly a much softer style. If you're looking for a romance and coming of age story, either is a great choice.

If you’re looking for pure romance and feel good shoujo anime, 3D Kanojo and Kimi Ni Todoke would definitely do the trick. Both anime series starts off having a gloomy and loner MCs (Sawako of Kimi Ni Todoke; Hikari Tsutsui of 3D Kanojo) and soon evolve into better versions of themselves as they go through their high school life - meeting/having friends, establishing romantic relationships with their love interests, and crating memories together.

Boku wa Tomodachi ga Sukunai (or Haganai) and Kimi ni Todoke have similarities in which both shows focus on a character who lives a troubled school life where all of their classmates misunderstand them and eventually meet someone who changes their life. Through out both of these shows the main character learns true friendship and what it's like to have true friends.

While I was first watching Kimi ni Todoke I realized how much the Art Style and The Music was. They don't really have a lot in common genre wise, but it has that supernaturalness to it but, (there really is spirits). Wait, how in the fuck am I the first person to post this recommendation?! Seriously, just about every shoujo title owes something to 'Dear Brother', and 'From Me To You' is no exception. In fact, the two have quite a bit in common: Both are slow-moving, melodramatic, slice-of-life tear-jerkers about sweet & innocent teenage girls adjusting to high school life, enduring bullying & ostracism and discovering love for the first time. In addition, they are both adapted from popular manga titles, boast excellent production values and even have nearly-equal running times. Her self-deprecation and naivety creates misunderstandings that she is unable to resolve easily since she has no social skills. Kobato and Sawako are socially awkward but in a good way; they are both naive, honest, and very considerate of others but they can be a bit overdramatic exceeding others' expectations. To a certain extent both are slice of life animes, although Kobato's got Clamp's usual magical elements and cross-over characters and Todoke's got Sawako's Sadako (the Ring, if you know what I mean) misunderstanding. Much like Watashi no Shiawase na Kekkon, Kimi ni Todoke is a coming-of-age romance anime. Both have a shy female lead that has lived through some type of abuse and, as a result, has given up on finding a place where they're accepted. While both KnT and WnSnK mostly focus on the relationship between the main character and her love interest, KnT also incorporates the importance of friendship into its plotline. They're both quite wholesomely dramatic animes with similar soft vibes that make your protective instincts kick in.

Nana (Hachi) and Sawako are similar, both are girls who don't know too much about what love actually is, and throughout the series they learn what it truely means, with happy moments, fun, but also heartbreak. Both are very serious in their presentation, with Nana having a more serious tone overall.

This one will probably seem very out of place since it is a completely different genre, but I wanted to recommend this one for two reasons. 1. They are both by "Production IG" (which has a ton of solid works that also include Attack on Titan, but I think that would be a bad recommendation for this one) 2. They are both very pure. Both series are relatively slow paced high school love stories. The plot of both shows revolve around two friends coming to develop feelings for the other. The main characters also share some similarity in their desire to be cute or girly, rather than the appearance they give off. Kimi ni Todoke's Sawako being creepy and unapproachable, while Sasameki Koto's Sumika is cool and masculine.

Although on the surface extremely different, and not necessarily for everyone who liked the other, both stories are actually rather sweet tales of coming out of one's shell and falling into a slow, but very much deeply-held love. Although Sawako never flipped out and chopped the people picking on her in half (while Sattelizer does) the adorable refreshing/freezing romantic comedy that drives both are surprisingly similar.

Though Kimi ni Todoke is about a social reject and a popular boy, and Ultra Maniac is about two relatively popular people, both are about two characters that like each other but don't want the other to know. Ultra Maniac is also semi magic-girl, as the best friend of the main character is one, but other than that, the love stories are both slow but sweet, and the boys both seem like boring, static characters, but are actually deep people who aren't what they seem. The difference thing here is that Sawako wants to go "out" of the box, while Morioka wants to go "inside" the box.

Yuiina and Kurumi look alike and the overall atmosphere of both animes is very refreshing. Also both have a unique look into the slice of life, romantic anime....Both definitely worth the time put into them

They speak about a love which is sweet and pure. Both of them give you peace and a feeling of pure unconditional love.

Similarities - Female Protagonist who thinks a lot about how she treats others, starts with little friends, and is not very social - Male Main Character becomes strongly connected to the girl - Show conveys very deep and serious tone paired with light chibi comedy Differences - Inu x Boku SS has darker artwork, slightly more serious tone, and a supernatural twist - Kimi ni Todoke has more soliloquy, and has a shoujo feel

Haha, you're thinking how in the world is this similar to kimi ni todoke? Both MC's initially had no friends and were very antisocial, but for different reasons. The majority of the show is subjectively in the protag's perspective where a lot of narrating is done explicitly to the audience. The MC's grow in character in every episode while overcoming obstacles given by their new found relationships. Both in school setting and have couple of festivals taking place in the anime. Both animes are all about character development.

Both are romantic, light and show the innocence of true love. Both anime are cute. The only difference is that gakuen heaven has BL content, while kimi ni todoke is harem.

"If you tremble at each step, how do you wanna walk?" - This question deals with the main girls problems in both animes: Kimi ni Todoke and Hitohira share two big similitaries: First, the female main character is so adoring (her personality), you'd love to help her with all her problems. Kimi ni Todoke, Sawako (Sadako) is just too shy to find friends, as well because she always was sort of "bullied" cause of her name and her "weird" charisma. In Hitohira, the girl is too shy to speak (in  read more

Both are romantic comedies. The main characters are very shy and apologetic. Their friends are headstrong and frank.

In both anime the characters show a lot of development. In both anime the main characters go to school. In both anime the main characters are overcoming something. In both anime romance is a big factor. Super high rewatch value for both of the anime's. Once you start watching both anime you can't stop.

Both of them have a cuteness and fluffiness to them that make you smile and feel happy. Both are pretty lax and the female leads are very shy and innocent. Both are centered in a school environment.

Both are romantic dramas that take place during high school.

For fans of cute romance. Hiiro no kakera definitely has more action and is a fantasy but the sweet romances are similar.
