I get that and it's fair. Even the people you might have known are mostly gone away now. Ah well, it's nice knowing you're doing well. Always nice when you catch up with an old friend and find they haven't gone off the deep end.

Fair. I see you're still going pretty hardcore into anime. A true fan.

You keep up with anyone from the old days? I'm sure raim has at one time or another pestered you about joining the discord server.
Swimmer1029 Nov 2, 6:44 PM
It never stopped, I just haven't been cataloging it here. Had a reunion with some old GS friends last week and it got me feeling nostalgic I guess. Figured I'd visit the old haunts and see who was around. Nice to see you and Nica are still around.

So again, how ya been lol

Yo lance. It's been a hot minute, how you doing these days?
nicaboy456 Sep 12, 11:42 PM
Just a little north of the city proper but I can get south to the border in about 30 mins. I know nothing of kazoo but hear it’s a nice place to visit

For me Jellyfish Can't Swim in the Night started off strong, like a 9/10 and as the series went on, things got so corny and ridiculous that it dropped to like a 5/10 towards the end. My overall score just averages out to a 7/10, since I only remember it's strong start and weak end, but not much in between. It's no way near as good as Bocchi the Rock! or Oshi no Ko.

Hi, I came across your profile several times these last days because I saw your recommendations, and just saw your latest updates.

I've made a few short animation stacks in the past, perhaps they will interest you, or help you find more stuff to your liking, I made few description of each short too - also, watching short animations will make your march to 2000 anime so fast haha

Anyway:

An introduction to short animations https://myanimelist.net/stacks/29151
"A selection of more linear and conventional story telling or just damn good art.
If you want to see how vast the anime world is and explore narratives and art styles that are not part of the mainstream, try them out."

Short Animations Getting Scientific https://myanimelist.net/stacks/29216
"Most of these are narrative shorts with Sci-Fi theme or just a futuristic setting.
Cyberpunk, post-apocalyptic, robots and androids, space opera, time travel, you know the drill.
A few are a bit abstract and surreal, and also some nice fitting music videos in the middle."

Short animations getting dark https://myanimelist.net/stacks/29194
"Psychological themes delving in dark places, gloomy atmosphere, morbid humor or straight horror.
Most pieces are more experimental and abstract, there are some music videos in the middle too."

Short animations getting artsy https://myanimelist.net/stacks/29178
"Experimental, surreal, abstract, trippy or just artsy.
A mixed bag of genres, most of these pieces are up for interpretation.
Beware, you are getting at non-conventional and weird grounds here."

Lance, I'm sorry for the late replies. I was trying to get a scholarship back then and the test started at the beginning of August.

About disaster management, well we used to put emergency response first but after SFDRR (Sendai Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction), we changed to prevent new and reduce existing disaster risks. I think it started in 2015 and then most of the country shifted its mindset to do capacity building for the people and in my unit, we make a disaster risk assessment for every province in Indonesia. Assess the possibility and magnitude of losses due to existing threats. By knowing the possibility and magnitude of losses, the focus of planning and integration of disaster management becomes more effective.

I haven't watched any anime lately, hope September will be a great month to relax hohoho!

See you around and take care ^^

I’m in the state of Michigan. I’ll find myself crossing over into Windsor via tunnel or bridge every so often for fun

Aww too bad... well, you know that Japan currency is low right now, so you might consider going there this year :p I wish I could go there this year but I have too many things to be done until December >.<

Not really, I prefer reading at home and then rest. So I watch a few anime when I'm on plane by downloading it first hahahaha!

Nods! It is a cool shirt. I love shirts with small pockets, I can keep my boarding pass and ticket safely since I tend to forget lol.
I watched it for 2 episodes a long time ago. It's pretty good. I dropped it cause some episodes are not really appropriate to watch in public hahaha! Sometimes I sit next to kids or underage teenagers lol! Thanks for reminding me! I'll put it on my plan-to-watch list ^^
I applied for the job in 2020 so I'm pretty new hohoho! But yeah I feel grateful I got it and learn lot about disaster management. But you're cooler! Lots of people want to work in your field and you keep learning new things so I think it's awesome.

I watched it because my friend told me it's a good one and since it's on Netflix, i give it a try! I even bought the T-shirt collab between Uniqlo and Kaiju No 8 cause it's cool :p
Since working in disaster management field, once a month I went to other city for work so I always download anime and watch it on my way so yeah any recommendation anime to watch? I'll try watching Chiisana Eiyuu you've talking before first hohoho!

Nah! you're the cooler one! You get a great job at federal government! Congrats Lance! So proud of you!

Still in the US to help narrow it down
renarahma Jul 16, 3:07 AM
Latest anime i watched was Kaiju No 8 cause it's on Netflix hohohoho! oh and I'm working in disaster affairs like FEMA in US and Canada. It's National Disaster Management Authority in Indonesia (BNPB). How about you ? I remember you took forensics science at college or am I wrong ?
nicaboy456 Jul 15, 2:45 PM
I feel you there. I find myself saving a ton of money now just by watching my fave streamers on YouTube. And of course scooping up whatever PS plus gives for free each month. My library is vast even though I have no time to get to it lol.

Also, I’m north of Canada now. I look down on you haha!
It’s time to ditch the text file.
