Golden Time

There's something that stands out with both Golden Time and Kimi ni Todoke. It's not just the romantic comedy aspect or the characters but the way they present themselves with its themes and settings.
The main characters' roles are reversed in some ways but they both form a relationship with feelings. Throughout both series, they run into obstacles involving love rivals and personal struggles. Comedy is presented well in both series with character expressions, dialogues, and its relationships. There's a tone of innocence that also feels natural and realistic on various levels.
If you love romance and comedy this is the anime for you! Its main characters are polar opposites that gradually begin to have feelings for one another. Full of flashbacks and a love triangle, it's a great anime to see.
Although Kimi ni Todoke and Golden Time go around love stories in their own different ways, they both have a similar resemblance in an actual progression. It's true for many, but with a somewhat lowkey protagonist who gains friends, and unfortunately a rival, it all comes together to coincide with the fact that the two stories are essentially using a similar system in a very different world.
Both are set in a school setting, with both being very hard on drama and the love-love side to really make for some unforgettable stories.
