What anime are talking about?

I've seen two episodes a few months back, and while I thought they were all right, I didn't feel like watching more. I am, however, interested in going back to it eventually. Maybe sometime soon? From what I've seen from its fans, the series definitely has acclaim, so I'm interested in seeing if it's something I can really get into. Playstation-like CGI and all, haha :P

When are you gonna end this love/hate relationship with One Piece? :o

I know it was kind of a long comment for someone like me, but... yeah, lol :P

What I wrote below sums up my thoughts on Hunter x Hunter. I wrote it a while back when talking to someone else, so bear in mind the context.

Dropped it, like, two weeks ago. No matter how hard I tried, I just couldn't get into that "Chimera Ant" craziness. To me, it departed from the show's initial appeal in favor of the more conventional - Greed Island especially! Greed Island was just no good.

But yeah, the Phantom Troupe part is fantastic! It was primarily the reason why I considered HxH exemplary.

Forgot about that region free thing! I'll definitely plan to, if there are no signs of a localization, but I doubt that I'll have to. Really, that game just looks too badass for no American release, and I'm sure there's already enough fan support here to warrant it, too.

Ah, kindergarten! Awesome! My sister teaches in elementary, too. Hope everything works out on your end, man.

Actually, yeah! I started and finished Natsume Ono's Not Simple last week; the main character's backstory is tragic! I was almost brought to tears after only a few pages :O

Another one I read was called Peepo Choo. Before I read it though, I skimmed through an article basically saying it was pretty decent, so a few days later I picked up its first volume, read it and had a blast! I was surprised with how funny it was, despite with its use of crude humor. Anyway, I still need to buy volumes two and three to see how it wraps up.

I also bought the first volume of Bloody Monday and Utsubora, but haven't gotten too far with either of them... :1

I've been all right! Can't say I've been up to much, besides my usual routine... Oh, not true. I started reading some manga, which has been a pretty interesting experience so far :P

Yu Yu Hakusho is good. Loved it as a kid, but a re-watch is in order. I thought it piqued during the Dark Tournament, though.

What!? I thought the Berserk movie was fantastic! In my opinion, it made great use of its run-time, providing a greater emphasis on the more important aspects that the series slogged through. Really, I can't wait to see the next two movies; I'm sure I'll like them, at least ^_-

Haha, One Piece... Our feelings might be mutual towards that show. Since Hunter x Hunter has become one of my favorite things in existence, anything remotely comparable seems inferior. The most glaring issue i have with it is that, while 200+ episodes in, the characterization has become obviously stagnant; their actions have become predictable as a result, leaving me with a sense of emptiness with whatever situation they find themselves in. Even so, I want to continue on with the show, if only out of curiosity, but that may be too tall an order for me.

Whenever Stardust Crusaders begins I'll try it out again. I really liked the 90s OVA of that.

Oh, yeah! Hunter x Hunter movie comes out next week! Do you plan on seeing it? I'm so jealous, dude :O

I'm doing fine. Aside from trying not to spend each of my paychecks on nonsense, I've been enjoying life (trying to, at least :P ).

The Green Island storyline just started in Hunter x Hunter. The last episode showcased Gon and Killua as they displayed their newly acquired Nen abilities to become the participants for the game. You said the animation got poor around this arc in the previous adaption? 'Tis a shame. Fortunately the folks over at Madhouse are doing a damn good job with this show, so I have no doubt that they'll handle the show with better care than Nippon Animation.

Eh, yeah, I'll pass on Hyouka. Lately, I've been much more selective with what I watch, sticking closely with my favorites (as neatly displayed on my profile) or anything that might resemble them, and frankly Hyouka doesn't resemble anything I would like, or find much enjoyment in. The insanely overdone school & club thing -- regardless of a shows' premise -- doesn't appeal to me much at all anymore. If I hear something is exemplary, sure, I may sample it out of curiosity, but I won't otherwise.

BTW, the new JJBA series has been a disappointment for me. I've seen your score of it, so I know you like it a lot, but I couldn't get into it. Its breakneck pacing and over-the-top aesthetic -- which is likely what most find appealing -- is more off-putting to me than anything.

Gonna watch anything this season? Winter always has the least appealing lineup, and this year is not different.

SS is about the fights... The characters may grow on you with some time (specially since you only saw the begining) but don't expect a great character development, or huge plot twist involving the main characters. Some of the current bad guys have good qualities, but the real deal, at least in the figthing, will take some time n_n
