It gives the same feeling that Inuyasha gives but doesn't take itself as seriously. Although, Kamisama is more romance then Inuyasha. If you like a bit of romance, give it a try. I liked Kamisama better then Inuyasha.

Both are similar because they involve a modern girl who gets transported to alternative feudal Chinese world. They also appear to have some of the same historical Chinese myths and legend occasionally. Both are fantasy anime but Fushigi Yuugi seems to involve more dramatic plot turns, deeper romance between the main characters, and occasionally serious subject to bring depth to the character and expose their psyche. Overall Fushigi Yuugi and Inu Yasha both have good characters and are both humorous and entertaining anime.

Kimetsu no Yaiba reminded me of Inu Yasha, both shows center on our male lead and involve demon slaying. The setting is historical Japan, and the characters are very fleshed out, even the demons get some of their own backstories. If you've seen Inu Yasha and would like a similar experience, Kimetsu no Yaiba is a fantastically animated shounen with it's very lovable characters and bits of comedy throughout.

The usual high school student who finds a portal to a different world whilst finding a "foreign" love. The main female ends up befriending many people to help the love interest with his problems. A bunch of action/romance/drama here yet still very entertaining to watch.

Both about a man that had a bad past and then after a few years they began to change although in Inuyasha the main mostly changed because of the meeting with the girl other then that the story is quite similar both revoled around the guy main character both has romance although not so much in Rurouni Kenshin

They are both historical anime set in about the same time period with Japanese mythology as an underlying theme. Inuyasha and the gang are looking for shards of Shikon no Tama, while Hyakkimaru is looking for his missing bodyparts. This leads to an epic journey for both teams.

Both anime feature female main characters that start off weak but gradually grow as they learn more about the world around them and their own abilities. Another similarity is that both those strong mcs use bow and arrows as their weapon. Besides that, both anime are great Fantasy/Romance, which, in my opinion, is a genre combination that isn't usually well made. In those two anime the feelings of the main characters are taken into consideration during their journey. So yeah, if you're looking for more strong female leads which feelings are taken into account in a world with fantasy elements, there you are.

Both of these follow strong-willed guys, who travel with a female companion(with hints of romance), while searching for feathers/shards.

Both have lots of sword fights with samurai or ppl who look like sumurai and have to deal with demon slaying

Neither the story nor the characters of Noragami have anything in similar to that of Inuyasha. However, there is a similar "feel" to both of them. -The main heroins of both anime accidentally come into contact with another world. -Both male lead have a past unknown to the human girl, and a woman from their past. -The supporting characters are friends who can be counted upon. -Spirits or demons hunting are daily occurrences. Inu Yasha is a lengthy anime with a well thought plot and many incidences, where as Noragami is only 12 episode long adaptation of the manga series.

If you enjoyed the whole "time travelling" theme that InuYasha is based on, then you may also enjoy Rumiko Takahashi's Fire Tripper. Both set in the Civil War era of Japan, a girl in a school uniform who can jump through time & a great love story.

Yu Yu Hakusho and InuYasha are both in depth fighting animes. The main protagonists, InuYasha and Yusuke, both develop into stronger, more powerful individuals along the course of their adventures. They both weild incredible powers, whether it be InuYasha's Wind Scar, or Yusuke's Spirit Gun, a lot of fun will be had watching either show.

- 2 boys, 2 girls and 1 "animal" - a different world - so many episodes - the soundtrack is very good - Kagome and Lucy looks like someone from the past (Kikyo and Lucy's mother)

InuYasha is very similar to Blue seed. The story uses a lot of the story plots from Blue Seed. Both are action comedies dealing with a school girl who falls in love with a rebelish demon guy who was once in love with someone they were connected too such as in Blue Seed a her unknown sister or as in InuYasha her previous life character. I believe if you enjoy one you should enjoy the other.

they're not that similar accept for the fact that there are not quite normal people fighting demons and saving normal people. Oh, and there are ewven stronger people out to get the protagonists by useing the demons, if you know what i mean. and if you don't to bad for you.

Both are shows created by Rumiko Takahashi who are about a boy who is half human half demon/shinigami who teams up with a girl with supernatural powers/sight to exterminate/exorcise demons/ghosts and eventually have to face an antagonist who has a relationship with the main boy.

Both shows deal with half-demons that slay real demons. Both characters are on their own, but slowly build up a circle of friends. Both characters find love!

A demon protecting a priestess against his will but later start to accept her. Both Zenki in his sealed form and InuYasha have also the same voice actor. I think Inu Yasha are much better because the character development in Zenki almost standing still in the beginning of the serie at least.

A school girl that turns into a priestess and deals with jewels. Does that not sound similar? They both even went through a well.

They both have female main characters, but with important side characters aswell. It is also the same priciple of being able to travel back and forth between a "normal" world and the more fantasy-inspired "old world". They both handle the subject of what problems one might have when crossing over to another world. Besides that, both series also have monsters/demons which can be both good and bad :)

In both anime, the protagonists are armed with an ancient weapon whose sole purpose is to kill other Yokai (demons, specters, ghouls...etc), and will occasionally transform into a beast to essentially fight fire with fire.

I just feel that the main character has a similar situation. Being half human and half demon, the main character doesn't belong to either side. But they chose the human side and decided to get stronger in order to protect them.

Both feature adolescent males with a guilt-complex, who are dense, hot-blooded, and intensely protective of a more intelligent girl who feel obligated to share in responsibility of guarding the surrounding area of demonic invaders. Though considering Inuyasha's popularity, Kekkaishi offers a better plot, less repetition, and a more varied cast of re-occuring characters.

Although Inuyasha & Kuromukuro are different, they shared couple of interesting parallel. When I watched Kuromukuro, I'm being kept reminded of Inuyasha as I continued to watch the show. -Kennosuke Ouma & Inuyasha are both characters from the past interacting with modern setting. Both Kennosuke & Inuyasha both came from Sengoku Era. -Kennosuke was awakened by Yukina in different but almost similar to how Kagome awakened Inuyasha. -Kennosuke's protectee, Yukihime looks a lot like Yukina in a parallel manner like Kikyo in Inuyasha resemble Kagome. They are both long and old series. Stories in them are different, but in both of them they are demons who are trying to hurt people. Both stories deal with magic. In both of them group of heroes fight for the sake of the peace. Both deals with the past connection of the pair of main heroes and heroines. Kagome (Inuyasha) is pure-hearted just like Usagi (Sailor moon). They are both week and scared, but they always risk their lives trying to save their friends (sometimes even their enemies). There's a lot of action! and a lot of fighting scenes. Has to do with 2 seperate worlds. Human vs. Fantasy. Main character has a close person thats almost always with them. Kagome / Inuyasha and Al / Edward. Both of the main characters are looking for something/items. On their adventures they make friends that help them along the way, and of course enemies which they are determined to defeat. At the same time they're making sure to keep their loved ones close, and take risks for one another.

In my opinion, Katanagatari and Inuyasha are very alike. They are, somehow, historical anime with action scenes, a little bit of comedy and some romance between the main characters. The male character is really strong and there are sword battles in both anime. Also, the main characters travel around gathering things: fragments of the sacred jewel (Inuyasha), the twelve legendary swords (Katanagatari)

Before there was Inuyasha and Kagome there was Fuiji and Pai. Except, in the case of Fuiji and Pai, the demon is in fact the female companion rather than the male, yet the search for becoming human or instead searching for demonic power is a common thread in both series. The artwork is dark, but the tone of the narrative has the same felel.

Both have almost the same theme and focus on battle against demons, and main characters that looks the same (Inuyasha = Tenko, Kagome = Noboru, etc.).
report Recommended by Buruno
The two main characters have a very similar relationship dynamic (kind girl with control over a powerful demon after breaking the seal on him). Both shows are also action adventure in a fantasy setting with bits of comedy and serious/emotional moments. I'd say anyone drawn to these aspects and likes one should give the other a shot, though "Bastard!!" is certainly less appropriate than InuYasha due to nudity and darker themes.

I get a similar vibe from these two anime, likely because their comedic aspect (minus the BL-humour from Hakkenden, which is almost non-existent in InuYasha) is quite similar, and they're both of a fantasy/adventure genre. Furthermore, both of these anime also make extensive use of the storyline of exorcising demons that make trouble for ordinary people. Besides that, the main male characters also have some similarities. Shino and InuYasha both act like brats, look younger than they are, and wield a special sword. I just couldn't help but be in some way reminded of InuYasha when I started watching Hakkenden.

Its a High School Girl & a weird strange boy. Kaname Chirdori, the main heroine of Full Metal Panic shares many characteristics of Kagome. Sousuke Sagara, the main hero, is more like Sesshomaru without the pride. With the perverted Kurz Weber and battle-ready Melissa Mao to round out the major group, it leads to funny high school slapstick and awesome Mecha action. And with Teresa (mistranslated as Teletha) "Tessa" Testarossa to complete the romantic triangle comedy.

There are many similarities between Shounen Onmyouji, and Inuyasha. Masahiro is half spirit fox, and half mortal. Inuyasha is half dog demon, and half human. Masahiro's partner Mokkun is very much like Shipo. Then their is Princess Fujiwara no Akiko, who is very much like Kagome. Akiko can see demons and is attacked by them often. Kagome is the recarnation of a priestess who can defeat demons with holy arrows. The main reason for the same similarities is that both animes deal with hunting demons, becoming stronger, and protecting the spirit world and the real world.

-Human MC transported to new world (in Tate no yuusha the guy was transported and became a hero while in Inuyasha the girl was transported because she got dragged by a monster) -They both travel and villager seek help from them. -Main girl is a demi-human while in Inuyasha the main guy is a Half-human Half-Demon. There's a lot more similarity about these two and I probably missed out some of them but I totally recommend this a must watch.

Both have modern and non-modern aspects to the story line. They also have demons of some form or another. The characters help to draw the viewer into the story and the art styles are also very unique.

Both of these animé involve an incredibly-powerful, cocky, hot-blooded protagonist who had a demon father and a human mother. They also posses large, easily-concealed swords with which they use to slay countless evil demons. They lead a group traveling on a journey for the restoration of power and battle several mighty adversaries, some of which just keep coming back for more! Both of these half-human, half-demon protagonists also have to deal with a girl from someplace else, who can wield a magical bow, and is very insistent on shaping up the protagonist and softening him into a better, more mature person.

The beginning episodes of Inuyasha really remind me of Mushishi. Both animes are set in medieval Japan. The main difference from the two is that Inuyasha deals with warding off demons while searching for the Shikon Jewel while Lords Marksman & Vanadis deals with conquering and strethening your empire. What you will see in common is that the roles that the main characters Kagome/Inuyasha and Elenora/Tigre are swapped. Protagonists on a journey trying to find something they desire to change who they are. In InuYasha's case, he wants to become a complete youkai. In Mermaid Forest, Yuta wants to become a normal human. In the romance aspect, the protagonists are also really similar. Both had trouble falling in love for women who weren't immortal like them, and both series show a bit of how they dealt with it. Furthermore, they're by the same author, Rumiko Takahashi, and you can really feel her presence in the works.

You can easily trace the similarities between InuYasha and Saiyuki Reload Blast. The feel of both shows align; with a more ancient setting, a prolonged adventure, and plenty of battles with demonic forces. InuYasha even has that old-school art style that Saiyuki Reload Blast has continued to hold on to! Characters in both shows also share the demon-human hybrid complexity in a few of their party members. And if you loved Saiyuki Reload’s extended story, you’ll have plenty of episodes to enjoy with InuYasha!

Both were written by the same author. 15 year old main girl. Deals with demons and magical powers. The main villians kind of have a similar backstory and they're both crazy. Of course both have Romance develop between the MCs over the course of the series. Both do some world jumping (different eras in Inuyashas case and literally different worlds/dimensions in Ancient Magus Bride's case) Differences are that Inuyasha is more action focused and a lot longer, and older of course. Also Kagome does not have a depressing backstory like Chise.

If you liked InuYasha, i feel like you would like Black Clover. First off, they both include comedy and a lot of battles. For example, they are at least 15+ battles in Black Clover, and about 20+ in Inuyasha. If you enjoy action and plot twisters, I recommend this! I also recommend this because there is some small aspect of “Romance” and both plot lines are extremely well and somewhat similar? They both fight some kind of “demons” Also, both of the shows contain magical aspects! (BTW the ending of Black Clover sucked, left on a MAJOR cliffhanger )

Sengoku Basara seems to at times either inflate characters to such unrealistic proportions that the result might not be as expected (which might be due to relying on an arc for episodes, where other anime like Inuyasha tend to go on at length and so it isn't a burst as such).

Not only are the two animes created by Rumiko Takahashi, but the characters are very similar. Both series focus on a character who is half-human but half something else, and that other half is something they try to be more often. A lot of other characters in Kyoukai no Rinne are very alike to the ones in Inuyasha, which fans would be able to point out instantly. Inuyasha may be a little more serious and long-winded, though it still offers the same comedic moments and lovable characters.

(as will all anime, the manga is better, but only slightly different, I suggest to read Fruit Baskets manga starting about ch 31 where the anime leaves off).

Men fighting, fantasy, and semi historical settings in both anime as well as similar art and character design.

Same manga creator. Storylines are different but there is still something about the stories this artist creates that draws you in.

Both main characters are part demons and have big swords. Their swords have great powers. Though they have separate plots. Both main characters act tough and mean, but they actually help people. They are both filled with comedy, action, and fantasy.

There are yukai in both anime and this short reminds me of a particular part of the story in InuYasha early on where they have to deal with the spiders.

This deals with the demon side of UN-GO and you also honestly don't have to have watched UN-GO to watch episode 0. The art styles are similar too.

A teenage guy waffles between interest in two different girls. Similar art style, although I should note that Kimagure Orange Road is at least fifteen years older than Inuyasha, from the early 80s to be precise, and therefore may be harder to find, in anime or manga form. While the focus of KOR is the relationships and mishaps revolving around the triangle corners (Kasuga, Madoka and Hikaru), the triangle in Inuyasha is more of a recurring subplot that helps add flavor to the trials and tribulations that Inuyasha, Kagome and company must face while collecting jewel shards in the Warring States Era. A heroine with mysterious powers, armed with a bow and arrow. Together with a boy of unknown origins, they fight supernatural creatures not of this world, with the occasional help of a party of humans and the very supernatural beings they aim to either befriend, or exorcize.

Magic ,people traveling on an adventure, Inuyasha and Orphen are alike you can tell if you watch both anime

well they maybe different but they have some of the same aspects. Shattered jewel shards spread across a world, a being from another world, fighting monsters to collect the shards, etc.

With love triangles and love rivals this anime will teach guys to not underestimate a girl's will power!

In both, the main character, a high school student from the modern world, is thrown into a past fantasy-like era.

Both Anime deal with people that have demon blood in them. There is fighting and romance, not to mention the story lines draw you in.

Demon and human relations? Who would have thought? Well, the main protagonists of both of these series dive right into the whole mess of demon and human relations, one taking place in a modern setting and the other time traveling, but they both kick butt, or the one from InuYasha does eventually after some character development. The style of the shorter series also reminds me of InuYasha's style.

Each show has a mixed crew of humans from the real world & fantasy beings on a quest to collect magic fragments. Both shows have a lot of comedy and a lot of bickering between characters.

Both characters of Magic Knight Rayearth (Hikaru Shiidou, Umi Ryuuzaki and Fuu Hououji) and Inu Yasha (Kagome) transported into another world to defeat the evils of the demon Naraku and Zagato.

Both are made by the same creator which is Rumiko Takahashi and both have the same main character falling for a guy who treats them like crap. Also have similar personalities too, only Lum is way more likable and hotter.

Both series are long! The characters in both of them are trying to get something, and people have special powers... I don't know why, but I find these series very similar.

The music is very similar

There is, in both, a shadowy figure sending out his minions... both use mist to cover their tracks, and in Ayakashi this has the effect of confusing anyone trying to reach his mansion from ever succeeding (although this was explicitly used in the Inuyasha games mostly)... both have the same sort of mythological 'monsters', since 'yokai' is practically a synonym for 'ayakashi', although in Inuyasha only one side can mainly control them. Both utilize tragedy and inter-personal drama.

Both derive from myths, in Inuyasha Hachiemon is a tanuki, but they also share similar family dynamics; mother is odd, father issues, Inuyasha just doesn't have a younger brother (maybe kitsune Shippo?) - both also try to fit in human society.

Has main characters that are disliked for being different. Deals with the "demon/ oni" reference.

Both Male MCs fight with swords Both involve fighting monsters, demons, etc. Both take place in Feudal Japan

Both anime have jewels. There is the girl protagonist, Kagome and Eris who both only have th epower to sense the jewels and must collect them before the enemy gets their hands on it. Kagome, however, can fight. Both anime have a team that accompanies them on their journey.

Besides being set in the past, the 'villains' develop this strategy over the long term that is organically similar.

both are similar because you have a female lead that is unsure about herself but gains confidence through their partner's strengnth. I like the fact that both of the lead characters didnt immediately like the male lead, and kind of fell in love through adventurs. They are dissimilar because Howl's Castle is way too short.

When first heard a brief description of Saiyuki. I asked if it was a spin-off of Inuyasha. I was assured that they were related in no way, whatsoever. I pulled together all the description of characters and mixed it up and found some nearly identical matches to the characters of Inuyasha and Saiyuki.

they both are conceived as an a long adventure at the research of something with an epic love story

Both animes being set in the Feudal era Japan and both containing battles and intense sword fights, But these are only obstacles that that need to overcome to reach there goal at the end of the road.

The main female character can't decide between two potiental love intrests. Just like Inuyasha. It has non-human characters too but, instead of demons Vampire Knight has Vampires. I don't know how but I get a similar feeling from watching Inuyasha as I do Vampire knight. Also everyone I know who like either Inuyasha or Vampire knight likes the other.

- Both Dante from Devil May Cry and Inuyasha are half human, half demon that are sword wielders - Both Dante and Inuyasha carry their father's sword that are legendary and incredibly powerful. - Both of their mothers were beautiful human women who died when they were young - Both have a female partner (Trish in Devil May Cry and Kagome in Inuyasha) - Both are action-packed anime with demons and characters with unique powers Differences between the two is that they both have different fighting styles and both are set in a different time eras (Devil May Cry set in a modern time era while Inuyasha is set  read more

Both are supernatural in nature and involve spirits based around asian mythology. Both also have comedy as well as action and adventure. xxxholic is more serious in nature than Inuyasha though, even though it does have some comedic moments. The spirits in xxxholic aren't visible to most people and the series is set in the modern world. Inuyasha is in a fantasy version of Japan's fuedal past where the nature spirits(yokai) are part of everyday life and completely visible to the humans.

Although one is much longer then the other: They both have fighting scenes, with a bit of gore. Definitely a lot more in Rurouni Kenshin. One fights for justice while the other fights to become stronger. Also a bit of romance. More in Inuyasha then Rurouni Kenshin.
