Both animes start with a modern day girl being pulled down a well. In Harukanaru she is pulled down with 2 others. In InuYasha were the well goes both ways so you get events in both timelines. But this anime is focused solely on the new timeline.
Both animes involve the modern day girl becoming a Priestess. Both hold an important power. In Harukanaru she has 8 guardians and they have to find 4 talismen not shard pieces.
Both animes have traces of romance but InuYasha is stronger on this front. Harukanaru has more suitors.
Both animes have daemons and an evil main villain who has subordinates.

In both InuYaha and Harukanaru there is a chosen girl who is swept into a different world and told they are a priestess who must utilize powerful jewels and their own new found powers to save the day and their new friends. If you enjoyed one I'm sure you would enjoy the other.
