Hey guys~ It's me! HimeCrycho!
I watch all kinds of anime. You are likely to see some random obscure anime on my profile because I watch a lot of things for challenges. I really like a mixed bag of things. The only thing I really couldn't care less for is avant garbage :P very rare exceptions to that one. For other hobbies outside of anime, I like to try out new recipes. Nothing like some yummy food to go with your anime, am I right? xD

AH, so I've read! I heard that the ending is more or less filler/anime original content. That being said the adaption wrapped up rather nicely imo! AND COLLEGE?! Gahh, I was already planning on reading it after I finished it (because it became one of my all time favorite series >.<) but after reading that it follows them into college, I can't even imagine the hijinks they get into!
TYSM for the recc, the series is incredible and timeless, completely subverted my expectations and I completely anticipate the manga to do so as well! And no worries, your reply wasn't late at all and life just happens sometimes ^ ^ I hope ur day is great! ヾ(@⌒ー⌒@)ノ
TBQH, I don't have a problem with AAA games made around 1997 and 2016. It's the much newer AAA games that disappoint me. Being all rushed, formulaic, buggy or worse (Ubisoft's recent antics doesn't help and it pains me to see a big name studio about to get swallowed whole like 20th Century FOX). I also detest live service, constant remakes and microtransactions (I don't do gambling).
I really hope that Rayman will get to be in the hands of a studio with more empathy. People loved those games since decades ago. A new Rayman game would have made Ubisoft more relevant, but after losing money constantly and their recent vendetta with Japanese people, Tencent (those filthy rich Chinese businessesmen) is getting closer to swallowing the French studio whole. Like a dragon (no, not Ryu ga Kotoku) patiently approaching its prey. They might end up losing a franchise like Midway did. As we can see, Mortal Kombat is completely owned by Hollywood.
As for remakes, I do like Second Story R about as much as Alter Code f (better mechanics than 1996 Wild Arms).
Instead of delving into newer AAA games, I explored more deeply into other hobbies like smithing and linguistics (was figuring out for ages how Japanese grammar works and I love the focus on SOV over pronouns; no articles needed which are highly repetitive in Spanish). I'll still play video games regardless and how can I grow out of Ragnarok Online if the mechanics improved even better since 2020? Thanks to Gravity and GungHo for improving it. Like an old dog learning new tricks.
PS: I haven't played any AAA games since 2017. Didn't feel the prime of AAA games since then like I had once anticipated.
So much entertainment to explore, not enough time. I'm also happy with my Crystolon and I might get a medium India Stone (though aggressive on most steel) much later.
My little sister's puppy is with me for babysitting again. He's half schnauzer and half Maltese so he looks kind of like a mini Einstein. Always playing tag with his jaws so it's cute watching him growl. He also has the similar intelligence to a second grader. Still outclassed by a crow. Though he loses his mind or confidence when he hears random noises.
I'll show you a picture of my new knife later. Made from bearing steel which is far superior to tamahagane.
Also I see 'Ouran Highschool Host Club' is in your favs, and I'm LOVING the adaption so far! Is the manga also worth a read as well? :O
Yep! Theo can catch monsters in cards, said summoning system called Cardish
While Arc The Lad 3 is a tactical RPG, it's far from very difficult.
I'm doing fine (amidst this heat wave), by the way and I hope that said condition will be resolved soon enough. Hopefully, it isn't along the lines with some serous condition like hypersomnia, sleep apnea, Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, post-travel jet lag (possibly very unlikely) or mononucleosis. Flu would definitely be left out easily in a process of elimination.
I sometimes worry about jet lag if I ever fly to Japan or very distant countries one day. I hope it'll never happen because I'd love to purchase a Shapton, King, Naniwa or Suehiro at a much better price over there in Japan.
Another JRPG that I look forward to playing is either Penny Blood or Armed Fantasia, the new Wild Arms because of Akifumi Kaneko.
I wonder how Hironobu Sakaguchi and his company Mistwalker are doing. I would sure love to emulate Lost Odyssey someday as well.
Last time I had an Xbox 360, I used it to play that hidden gem Zoids Assault. It has themes and narrative that rival Gundam or more mainstream mecha. I wish that it could have gotten a sequel which would be Rambo 2 levels of epic. Like helping prisoners of war escape from hidden correctional facilities or escape from unfair incarceration.
There were no beam weapons in that game like the charged particle beam, so it's a whole other universe. Yes, different than Chaotic Century and Michelle Ruff did a great job as Jessica. I also heard Batou's American voice in that game.
Making a sequel that takes place in the Chaotic Century timeline would mean bringing back those Ocean dubbers which are all the way in Canada. That would be fair.
I'm 16 hours and 23 minutes into Arc The Lad 3. Part two is the best, but I really want to know who Alek's mysterious savior as a little kid was during that great calamity. I also loved the appearances older Arc The Lad characters made, the heroes. Lieza was so nice to let Alek and his friends chill in her monster ranch.
I also love this summoning system or Cardish. Looks like something out of Cardcaptors, Jade Cocoon (the most original Ghibli game I've ever played) or Pokémon.
I captured plenty of monsters using Theo even though they're temporary summons once captured in cards. They expire more or less like the Enterrans in Mushrambo, AKA Shinzo.
Other than that, I really can't wait to meet other Arc The Lad heroes like Lieza (that sweet monster tamer girl) and Tosh who used to be a wandering samurai (now a village chief living in a Japanese style home taking care of arid Testa's water sphere). Tosh sure picked some serious muscle for taking care of his current arid town's source of life. Yes, because bandits tried to steal that magic orb from said arid town for personal gain, like making bottled water, once. Yes, that town would be thirsty like those futuristic townspeople in Trigun without that watery magic ball.
Those hunter quests somehow remind me of Ragnarok Online while the gameplay brings back memories of me exploring Suikoden Tactics decades ago.
Aside from Arc The Lad 3, I need a new half round bastard file for knives I'll forge from bearing steel (the superb alloy) and I look forward to getting the Norton India Stone. I could sure use that real hard oilstone that resists dishing.
I prefer Twilight Venom dubbed than subbed. The Japanese actors just aren't notable and I love Mirabelle's cute voice. Yes, Julie Maddalena got married ages ago.
As for Dot Hack, I wanted the original quadrilogoy to be remastered, but at least GU transitioned to HD with Japanese voices included, IIRC (Takahiro Sakurai AKA Cloud Strife and I love Ayasumi; AKA Saber and Melfina).
Aside from the consequences of virtual reality, the similarities between Dot Hack and Tokyo Ghost end there. Tokyo Ghost may also be inspired by Tron given that it's cyberpunk, but definitely not cyberpunk in the traditional sense. The consequences of untested experiments as its other theme is motivating enough for me to explore.
That's the kind of graphic novel a semitomboyish friend of mine from Maryland would love to read given that she loves Dot Hack, Tron and cyberpunk.
Megaman NT Warrior is the kind of cyberpunk that I grew up with besides Batman Beyond.
As for Lunar: Silver Story, I finished it and for a Dragon Quest clone, it sure got me motivated like Grandia 1 did (I love Feena and her big sister Leen; would make a trouvere in Ragnarok Online with long green hair that looks like Feena and dancer class characters are versatile). Game Arts really did a great job back then.
Speaking of Dot Hack, it's been ages since I last delved into anything from that franchise. I was sick that one time I was re-watching Dot Hack Sign.
It's a shame that Bee Train is no more and I would have loved an Arc The Lad 2 adaptation. That poor kid Elk got scarred for life, kind of like Po did in the beginning of Kung Fu Panda 2. That feeling of your home town getting pillaged and your family taken away from you.
Scars don't heal, but they sure take a lot of time to get used to. A lot of time to bear with it.
Yes, the dub in Arc The Lad was spectacular. Same voices as those in Digimon.
In other news, I'm almost done with playing Lunar: Silver Story. The most underrated JRPG next to Grandia.
Both made by Game Arts IIRC, the sister company of Gravity. Yes, both developers belong to GungHo. Both do a good job bringing some strong anime aesthetics to video games. Same with Red Entertainment, known for hiring Kōsuke Fujishima and Yasuhiro Nightow once. My two favorite mangaka besides with Yoshikazu Yasuhiko, Osamu Tezuka, Kia Asamiya and even Masamune Shirow.
