Hi!
My enjoyment of a show relies heavily upon how interesting/entertaining I find the characters and plot as well as how emotionally invested I become. If something has
characters who frequently show genuine emotion and great art/design/music, there's a much greater chance I'll become invested.
Art-style/design can greatly affect my ability to enjoy something. I have trouble caring for completely unattractive characters (such as...the entire cast of Ping Pong The Animation). I particularly like
intriguing character relations, unique worlds, and
dramatic or thought-provoking stories. I easily get interested in "unstable" relationships between characters, where what will happen each encounter is unpredictable (usually due to them being "enemies"). I also have a bias when it comes to characters who are not 100% human (refer to my favorites). In general, I prefer stories with an overarching plot that is constantly moving (I tend to not like anything episodic much unless the world or characters or relationships receive good development which matters in a grander plot). I tend to like very fast-paced shows. I tend to not like power fantasies much and really prefer the opposite (MC who is weaker than others and faces real threats). If you happen to have tastes similar to mine, I hope you are able to find something you like by looking at my list! :)
**I will not consider accepting random friend requests unless a message is included with some explanation (such as why you want to be friends).
My thoughts when rating:
1-5: Not worth remembering. Don't want to bloat my list with it.
6: Liked it a little. Felt kinda like a waste of time, though. (Done with it.)
7: Liked it a fair amount, but it didn't impress me overall. (May revisit.)
8: Thoroughly enjoyed it! Memorable, would recommend. (Would like to revisit.)
9: Fantastic! I need to tell my friends about this! (Need to revisit.)
10: Extraordinarily appealing experience. (Need to revisit every so often.)
To clarify, I use my list mainly as a reminder to the things I like. If I don't like something at all, it's not going to be on there. I use these tags to help find stuff:
sad - was able to make me cry (more than one tear)
funny - was able to make me laugh (more than a little)
intense - made me very anxious/excited to know the whole plot
sweet - made me want to go "aww~!" due to cute characters/relationships
pretty - particularly aesthetically pleasing to me in terms of art-style, designs, environments, etc.
relation - enjoyed unstable/unpredictable interactions between characters
I can potentially like any genre/theme, but I don't tend to enjoy school/slice of life as much. I most prefer these:- Action / Adventure
- Drama / Thriller
- Fantasy / Sci-Fi
- Romance
- Demon / Vampire
- Psychological
For the most part, I enjoy anime dubbed and subbed. I may vastly prefer one over the other depending on the show.
