I haven't watched 86 yet. But I plan to watch it soon, I'm sure I will like it! :') I'm watching Naruto Shippuden these days. It's taking my time because it's long, but I'm almost done. I watched Dororo, Shouwa Genroku Rakugo Shinjuu and Gintama recently and I really liked it. Especially Gintama has been added to my favourites! :')

I think you nailed what my thought process was. I haven't had any prior knowledge or read up the manga on this series, so I was really focused on how they directed the 12 episode time slots. I kind of figured, by the last two episodes, that they were going to break up for some underlying reason... but I didn't expect for both of them to do a 180 full turn back to Rou & Haru. It would have felt less pushed if they did more episodes to explore each of those external relationships. The anime tried very hard to make it seem like Rou & Haru were both over-indulged in irrational infatuations with their older counterparts. To me, it seemed like the anime was trying to parallel infatuation with a more grounded process of relationship development. With this premise in mind, I did get start to get frustrated with Shinako... However, her redeeming quality to me was that she was internally realizing that her indecisiveness and lack of courage to confront everything that was in front of her was hurting the people around her nearing the end of the season... only to lead to what was the ending -_- ...

Overall, I wouldn't say I hate the ending ... I did enjoy the ironic twist ... Haru deserves a chance a lot more than Shinako !!!!

Haha, and you are right about the intro !!! It's funny because I did the same exact thing to reference how Shigatsu wa Kimi no Uso would turn up because they leave clues like that also !

It's sad that some series have to be put in this pressure because of the seasonal episode restrictions that Japan traditionally exercises nowadays. It works for a good amount of anime because they don't have to stretch out plots for constant weekly episodes ... but for series like this one ... a few more episodes would have done more justice.
