Both of these Anime have a dark, gothic feel to their art style and they are about the macbre death. They also touch on the supernatural, one about how supernaturalism isn't real, and the other based on the what if it was real.

Both anime have the central plot of solve riddles. Hyouka takes place at school environment, and Gosick between the First and Second World Wars. Gosick has more drama and romance, while Hyouka shows you more comedy and slice-of-life (and even moe) aspects. Gosick has a more elaborated plot, but Hyouka has arcs, so it's easier to watch without getting bored.

According to MAL, Gosick ended on the very day Kamisama started airing. HMMM. There must've been some kind of loli detective craze over in Japan, at the time. (Either that or the anime people were running low on material to sell to those looking for 'daughters', at the time, and opted for the not-so-popular aging detective genre. Idk.) These two are built on the same foundations: In both there's an all-knowing reclusive loli, solving every case with their intellect/deus ex machina powers. They recruit Mr. Plain Average to be their masochistic doormats; mostly only existing to go from A-to-B on command and have things thrown at  read more

They both involve solving multiple mysteries in the beginning of the series and end up with a big thrilling finale!

They are both set as a traveling adventure in old Europe. The relationship between the main 'couples' are very similar, especially in the way the female lead treats the male lead. Both have a fair share of comedy and drama, Gosick is more tragic though (unexpectedly, considering Spice and Wolf feels more mature overall).
report Recommended by Takai
The relationship between the protagonists are really similar (especially the girl main). They both are in a love-hate situation, and is really entertaining. The only thing that differs is that there is no detective work.

Gothic animation revolving around mysteries involving the supernatural whether it be real supernatural or not. The designs are detailed and the story arcs pull one in.

Little children solving cases one after another. While the first one is originally a High School student turned to a boy due to a drug and the second one is purely loli with a dark past, both anime still portrays cases in which needs to solving that range from murder, conspiracy, a black organization and more.

These are Gothic tales dealing with the tale of a rabbit that brings fear into the minds of the people said rabbit comes across. The time eras are similar too and there is the mystery element.

Both of these anime involve a very simular style. The clothing worn by the characters is very Victorian age, one series taking place during such an era and the other being influenced by said era. Both involve mystery, though Umineko runs more long the lines of actually having supernatural overrtone, while Gosick has a supernatural undertone.

A person comes from Japan to Europe and they end up dealing with the cultural differences between their country and the one they are visiting. On top of this the people around them learn about the cultural differences too.

Both these anime involve solving supernatural mystery (singular for death note, plural for gosick) The differences show where the super smart protagonist is male in Death Note but female in Gosick. Victorique has wierd habits and solves mysteries insanely fast and police often rely on her, just like L. She also only takes cases that interest her, just like L. Also Gosick is told from protagonist point of view, where as Death Note is told from antagonist point of view (mostly)

I must say that both these series have a lot in common, not only from the general "detective" style case solving but a whole lot more from having characters to atmosphere, to even the pacing of episode and story details. Having an anime where a full episode can be filled by the main character just talking very technical without it getting boring is an amazing something in any form of media. And that's what I directly found that it had a great similarity for me to Gosick and the other way around. Both anime franchises are therefor really close and have a great similar setting!

Victorique and Shinku have really similiar personality and they look alike but Shinku is fighter and Victorique is reconstructing chaos :3

Both are mystery anime and have a very similar atmosphere. The main protagonists, a female genius and a soft-hearted but brave supporting male student solve mysterious cases. Though every episode greets us with yet another mystery there is a clear secret around the main character Sakurako, as we had it in Gosick with little Victorique. The main female protagonists act very similar; sometimes they are very honest and concentrated on the case, other times they act childish, especially while having an argument with the male protagonist. An amazing detail to notice is the way both Sakurako and Victorique solve those mysteries. Victorique gathers her 'fragments of  read more

They both contain a male protagonist who is in love with the girl and helps her out with her journey. Both contain hilarious comedy and are incredibly funny. Both of the female protagonists are unsure about the the guy at first. I can't quite fit the similarities in this paragraph with out it being a page long. If you liked one, I guarantee you'll love the other.

Boku dake ga Inai Machi involves a main male character who is working things out mostly by himself and solving a mystery. It is suspenseful and psychological. Gosick is similar in the aspect that there is a main male character, and there are many mysteries to be solved, although the main character does not do it alone. Time is a key element in both shows, and flashbacks and other imaginings are common in Gosick. Some female characters show resemblance in both shows, and one of the only major differences is the time setting.

The anime style is Gothic, the genre is mystery, specifically dealing with a high school detective. There is a lot of angst and wonderment about whether the canon characters will live or die.

Although the plots differ quite a bit, both shows have girls who don't quite fit in with the rest of society. These girls slowly change as they become friends and develop a relationship with the male protagonists. Also, the male and female protagonists must overcome some sort of adversity together near the end of the show.

First of all, it's all about the suspense and the atmosphere of the anime! The creepiness and awesomeness and all the exciting mysteries and... ah! *fakes cough* What I mean to say it, they're both amazing ;3

Both have a detective main heroine and a partner male protagonist. The mysteries in both anime end up connecting with each other (although in Gosick it worked a little better). There is romance between the characters.

Both Anime deal with the World Wars. Both have a Gothic style to them. Both deal with things outside of the characters hands despite the fact they try to stop the dark events from occuring.

Both stories are dark Gothic tales looking into whether Murders are really caused by the supernatural or if there is a real life murderer involved.

Dark plots, monsters, the mystery regarding some kind of conspiracy - well, both of these have all that, both of which take place in historical time periods, one being alternative history, both in Europe. The characters are also fun, and someone whose seen one may be looking for something similar yet of a slightly different genre.

Both anime share a series of intricate mystery theme and slight hint of romance, with a main lead who finds himself unexpectedly fascinated by an enigmatic girl (Victorique/Fremy). Victorique and Fremy share a similar dismissing personality towards others, which we slowly see evolve.

First would be how both the main characters, Victorique and Cossette have similarities in terms of outer appearances(dark-lolitas) so there would be instances that they give strong similar aura around them so as for Kujou and Eiri. Second is that both animes also have elements of romance and mysterious/dark stories around them though Cossette no Shouzou is indeed a more serious type of storyline. -Nevertheless both of the anime are very interesting and is worth the watch for fans who love the same genre of Cossette no Shouzou or Gosick.

Both of these Anime are about young females involved in the solving of mysteries and both are strong leads. They also take place around a similar time period.

They may seem different at first but both I find both series share a surprisingly amount of similarities. Taking place in a more old age setting, the main male protagonists are both clever, intelligent, and has courage to fight for what they believe in. Their encounter with the female protagonist can be interpreted as peculiar yet seems like fate. Additionally, there is a solid degree of comedy in both series.

Dark, gothic detective series are always a lot of fun, yet add in a bit of historical context into the mix, one being from a historical time period while the other involves a lot of the historical places one might find in Japan. There are quite a few references to Japanese culture, not to mention an element of horror built into each, adding to the dark, gothic atmosphere.

Both series' selling point is their female leads, Victorique and Yuuko Both series are mysterious and unravel as the show progresses Both will pull on your heartstrings towards the end

Both shana clone, kuudere/tsundere female characters with male nice guy love interests. An extremely similar dynamic between the two main characters, with a more dominating female. Inu X Bokuu SS is more of an Urban Fantasy in modern day japan, while Gosick is a historical mystery set in Europe. Inu X Bokuu SS has more action and romance and is a bit funnier, with Gosick being more serious.

Now, Charlotte and Gosick aren't the most similar in terms of plot. However, their duos are somewhat very similar. Constant bickering, cute moments, the need for both to be with one another, it is the whole package in two separate worlds. Charlotte is about a school of teenagers with superpowers, having to live separated from the outside world in comparison to the isolationist that is Victorique using her odd skill to solve mysteries. A prequel to the best anime series ever. With a touch of a mystery it is quite as interesting as Gosick. Give it a try. And don't forget to check out the main series which are even better.

"Gosick" can basically be summed up as "Shakugan no Shana" meets "Sherlock Holmes". Both shows follow a rather average teenage boy who, by pure chance, encounters a mysterious young girl who is very short and bossy but highly intelligent, and end up getting dragged into one crazy adventure after another, all while trying to live a normal school life in-between. Not only are Kazuya and Victorique quite similar to Yuji and Shana, respectively, but Avril is also very similar to Kazumi, albeit with more personality and backstory and a lot less focus. Put simply, if you like one, you will probably like the other.

Both shows follow teenage boys (Kazuya/Kinji) who come from distinguished families and have poor reputations in school. In both cases, they meet a diminutive teenage girl (Victorique/Aria) who is very skilled at detective work but also very bossy and treats the male lead like her servant. They also both have distant relationships with their mothers, albeit for different reasons, and eventually warm up to their respective partners. The main villains of both shows are quite similar to each other, though "Gosick"'s has a clearer motive and end goal. Essentially, "Gosick" can be read as the series that "Aria the Scarlet Ammo" should have been.

If you are looking for a series that will make you weep at the end then this is the anime for you. I say, Sunday Without God and Gosick are similar because: 1.) They somewhat have the same atmosphere. 2.) There is at least one character that makes you laugh. 3.) At least one character that has great determination. 4.) Both make you weep at the end (not telling why)

Both include mysteries, action (not as much as Nijuu, but enough) and adventure. Just like how the littlest details are important to figuring out the mystery in Nijuu Mensou, the same goes with Gosick. Both are set the 1900s (Nijuu Mensou-1950s/Gosick-1924) and have. The main reason why I recommended Gosick is because they're alike in several ways and keeps you on your toes when you're watching the Anime. (Just like in the Pandora Hearts Manga) Literally every detail contributes to working out the mystery. Also, Gosick is cute. Who doesn't think a 5' 0", almost doll-like, girl with very long blonde hair and emerald eyes with a tsundere personality isn't cute?!

A story in which the young female carries everything on her shoulders, but that is no issue, for these characters are still quite loveable regardless. Gosick and Bookworm follow a rather intelligent young girl who spends time doing what they can best, solving mystery cases and reading. Myne has a journey to overcome in order to read that goal in comparison to Victorique who simply has to wait for the word in order to work her magic. Both feature themes of mystery solving and the reasoning behind those who commit crimes, in gosick they look for the motive while in id:invade they look for the psychological cause behind the actions. Gosick has them investigating crimes and we see this in id:invaded too but they use a virtual landscape instead. Both are good if you enjoy mystery and suspense.

Wildly different setting but if you want a series with ridiculously clever MCs, Dr Stone and Gosick are a go-to. It's not just any average clever MC though, more so one that can process info and calculate to a point which is almost instantaneous. But that's all as far as the brain goes. Still, said MCs work with others in order to reach their set goal which makes for a more interesting series rather than a solo adventure. Detectives. Although Bungo Stray Dogs and Gosick are vastly different, both are still based on detective action. Some of which involve actual deductions in both, with the diverging stuff ranging from action gang war (Bungo Stray Dogs) to mystery-lore SoL detail (Gosick). If you are looking for mostly action with some detective work here and there dwelling as far down as to go into gang background and so, take Bungo Stray Dogs compared to a more actual detective anime with more than just that via mysteries within one's own, take Gosick. Despite having completely different settings (1920s European setting in Gosick vs. Ancient China in Koukyuu no Karasu), they are both series centered around a mysterious female lead with an interesting backstory. Shouxue and Victorique's personalities and experiences have some similarities. Both series also have side stories that gradually lead into the main plot with a strong bond that forms between the female and male mcs. If you enjoyed Koukyuu no Karasu and would like something similar but with a Western setting, I'd recommend giving Gosick a try!

Oh, the two share such poetic premise of a seemingly lost man fatefully meeting a girl in a place that represents their entire relationship: one a clock tower, the other in an island shoreline. While the two have different settings, one in wartime and the other in modern era, the development is surely reminiscent to each other. Moreover, both share the prospect of romance that is bound to brave even the harshest waves of time and coincidence.

Both are rather similar to period pieces. While FMA focuses largely on shounen aspects, Gosick airs more closely to the political aspects. Both have elements of suspense and mystery- Gosick specifically is a mystery in itself, but the sense of suspense which pervades throughout the course of both shows is very similar.

Gosick and the Grisaia series are both centred around an idyllic, isolated setting where romantic undertones flourish. It starts like a mystery-solving episodic story based on deduction where everything ends OK, but as far as the show goes on some mysterious power appear little by little, maybe some secret organization or a person that chases our characters, and is somehow connected with some of the characters' past.
