Let me start off by saying that I’m terrible at writing. I’m a messy person internally and externally, and I tend to ramble on, not knowing where and when to stop.
Now that that’s out of the way, hi. I’m Paula, currently a penniless student studying psychology.
Other than anime and manga, my interests include reading and watching non-anime stuff, painting, drawing, listening to music, photography (although I don’t have any talent whatsoever), and learning about psychology, history, philosophy, languages and cultures. I like travelling a lot, but I don’t have the money to go to faraway places. I’ve also been enjoying cooking lately, but only the part where you chop things up. I used to be the kind of sweet tooth that sucked on sugar cubes all day long, but recently I prefer salty snacks over the sweet stuff. Actually, I’m starting to feel like I’ve raised my blood sugar enough for the rest of my life.
~ Anime preferences and stuff ~
I guess my anime/manga preference is like my music preference in some ways; there aren’t any genres I particularly dislike. Though, I do have a weak spot for anime with a main character that has some kind of dark and tragic past, or anime where the characters are travelling around, or any kind of anime that has an impactful death scene with some tragic last words. (Yeah, I’m the kind of person who secretly enjoys seeing her favourite characters get killed off.) I also like anime with bittersweet endings and endings that are open to interpretation. Overdramatic sports anime series are my guilty pleasure.
10 – BLEW ME AWAY.
9 – I love it.
8 – I like it a lot.
7 – It’s enjoyable enough. / I like it.
6 – It’s okay, I guess.
5 – Mehh.
4 – Blegh.
3 – … What were they even thinking when they made this?
I won’t rate things with a 1 or a 2 unless they outright offend me.
Ohh, sounds hectic indeed. Hope you had a nice birthday though! Are you gonna manage school okay this year? haha
I used to love swimming as well, but in recent years I just haven't been doing it as much, I guess. I also freak out over animals and insects when I'm in lakes and the ocean. Jellyfish used to be my big fear when I grew up. Were always so many of those when we were taking dips in the ocean.
You liked the music in Soredemo wa Sekai Utsukushii, therefore I trust your recommendation on Saiunkoku Monogatari. Yamashita Kousuke's one of my favourite composers and he was pretty good in Soredemo (like everywhere else!)
Woah, that sounds like a great trip! I've been to Spain myself, though not to Barcelona. Walking alot is great though, one of my favourite things to do, just not in cities when it's hot, lol .. I actually had the same problem this summer though. I would be out in the sun all day, then get all burnt, then get a nice tan like a few days later.
I'm doing well though, yeah. Bit stressed out and tired, but hopefully that'll get sorted out eventually. Would probably do the trick if I started working out again, but idk if I got the motivation either, bleh
But that settles it. Let's just go for it. I'll be Batman, you be the flaky wonder girl.
Nah, it's great. Informative is better than stylish if you ask me
I'm so sorry for the awfully slow reply, I've just barely been on the computer this last month, been alot of stuff going on and I've barely even watched anime at all.
I hope you're doing alright though, enjoying the last days of summer C: Been up to anything special? Any exciting plans coming up?
Sure, you can go ahead and be Batman, I've actually come to terms with Robin's outfit by now anyway, so I wouldn't have it any other way. But no, I have no idea what your physique is like. Might as well be more like Batman's, I wouldn't know 8]
Really glad you updated your About Me as well, looks great! Finally a good read about you C:
Yeah, I also know this chick who wanted to do something in the medical field, but nuuu, she failed spanish, so she had to take a whole extra year to make up and improve her grades. Like wth? That doesn't even sound legit, you know? Idk
And yeah, I saw it, omg. *~* The opening was pretty okay, I'll probably need to watch it again, ususally takes some time for me to really fall for an opening, although most of my favourite ones I would actually hate in the beginning. xD But yeah, I also check them out before trying out an anime, mostly to check the overall production quality, art and whatnot.
I'm Batman, no discussion. I got it all covered too. The dark backstory, grouchy voice and in one year, the physique.
Anyways, how are you doing? C: Sorry for the awfully slow reply
Yeah, of course, of course. I'm all in for that and I agree with you 100 percent. It's just that they should, after a certain point, offer certain people some kind of alternative. Because here at least, you're basically unable to do anything at all unless you go through endless amount of classes and subjects, even those without relevance to your field of choice. Idk, I'm just bitter about it all from my own poor experience, I guess.
Like, we could be vigilantes and split tasks like Batman and Robin. You being the latter of course.
Yeah, idk, I'm just so fed up with it all. I personally think it'd be better to learn occupations from within by someone with experience and field knowledge, u know? Maybe that's old fashioned, but I know I'd benefit from it. Ah well though, not much to be done. But thanks. You might find me complaining hella lot to times, so apologies in advance. xD
Yeah, I totally believe it can be of help to people, just not to everyone. I see the problems ahead of me and as the situation is as of now, only I can do something about it. But yeah, I haven't given up hope on finding something. I've experienced far bigger miracles in the past xD And yeh, we're still hella young. if it becomes a problem to you, I guess I'll help you out. just don't tell #partnersincrime
Yeah, I've actually heard of both, Hikaru no Go was actually on my ptw, so I'll be sure to check them out sooner or later. C:
I just got way too much stuff I want to watch, let alone the anime I've even bought on blu ray. Series like Claymore, Tokyo Ghoul, Steins Gate, Ga Rei Zero etc.
Yeah, school is mandatory until 16 here, so I started the first year of high school or whatever, then dropped out after 5-6 months. Since then I've just been working part time before I finally figured I couldn't really advance much unless I finished school, so I started again 2 years back. And don't worry, I sorta find it ''cool'' as well, because as it is now, I'm not really a fan of the modern school system. The concept is amazing, but I feel like the focus is wrong and we're basically wasting hella lot of time. But I'm not gonna vent about that now. xD
I've also considered psychology, maybe because I went to a psychiatrist for 5-6 years but didn't really get anything out of it, perhaps thinking someone who can relate to your issues could be of better aid. But idk, I've just lost interest in most occupations, so who knows where I'll end up. But I really respect your interest in learning more, and you're not being immature at all. You should do whatever the hell makes you happy. unless you get kicks outta beating ppl up ofc lol
Yeah, same here about Days. But I guess I wanted something to fill the hole Kuroko no Basket left behind, cause I'm a sucker for good sports anime as well. You should definitely watch Baccano and Cowboy Bebop, I'm also planning on watching Wolf's Rain this summer. I adore Sword of the Stranger as well, but yeah, it's hard finding something similiar.
And I can totally get that. Let's hope you find someplace nice that meets your demands!
I'm only retaking like the basic stuff, cause I sorta dropped out of school when I was 16 .. x'D
But yeah, you're totally making sense. That's exactly what I'm thinking and trying to live by as well. Although I don't really want to get locked with something I don't really feel comfortable with. Idk, for now I'm just gonna be selfish and picky. If I ever have to provide for anyone I might make a bigger effort, but yeah. I'm just not a fan of that, you know, taking whatever you can get just because that's the way it is if you want to have what everyone else has, idk. I just want to do whatever the hell I want, be free and not be a burden to anyone. xD
Yeah, it was so gritty and unique. What first got to me though was the art though, I'm a sucker for pictures and whatnot. I actually never finished Gangsta, but one this reminds me of would be Baccano for sure. The vibes I'm getting from the characters, music and overall mood is exactly what makes Baccano one of my favs. Never started watching Arslan Senki, still sorta on the fence there. I also tried Orange and I really liked it, will probably see the second episode later tonighttt. Days also seems nice, will keep watching that for sure. C:
And yeah, same. I like change, I guess, but when it comes to renovating and moving, idk, I'm just lazy, lol. Nice that you're looking for a place though! I'd love to get a place with some buddies, but all my closest friends live with their girlfriends or are studying in other countries/cities. :C
I don't really know what to do yet, I have one more year until I'm done with the current program I'm on, which afterwards will give me more opportunities later, although I don't really have any ambitions whatsoever. Which also makes me cringe from the thought of another year at school. If only my current job had better pay so I could just live a comfortable and easy lifeee. ಥ_ಥ
That's great to hear! And I know right, I'm watching more anime than ever this season, lol. Just saw the first ep of 91 Days though, that'll probably be my favourite this summer. *~* What are you liking at the moment?
Germany is cool though, never been there properly, but I've driven through it a few times. And idk, I already went to Denmark for a week earlier this summer, and now I'm just lazing around, working a little, trying to maybe meet up with some friends soon. We're also gonna renovate the kitchen at home, remove a wall and whatnot, so that'll be bleh.
What are you planning on doing after the summer though? C:
