The girl and guy are like detectives working together to solve mysteries/murders/etc
Solving mysteries with a partner has never been so damn fun. Both these series adds humor, integrity, and style to solving mysteries. Detection fiction is the central theme of both these anime(s) that also mixes in some themes of tragedy.
Both deal with mystery. Victorique and Ayumu are both exceptional at solving these mysteries, followed by the character that helps them obtain information (Kujo and Hiyono). Both have a family member who has disappeared, but gosick gives it less relevance. They both take place in a school, even when a lot of the mysteries don't take place there. Gosick takes place in a alternative version of europe in the beginning of the twentieth century (between the first world War and the start of the second).
