Woah against my expectations i really did like it more than i thought! Truth is that after i gave it a try, i couldn't stop watching it. Both are great shounen series with "fight for nakamas" plot, and goals characters have made their mind to accomplish. Also it looks like naruto somewhat resembles Luffy. If you enjoyed Naruto, I'm sure you will find One Piece amazing.

Gotta love the slapstick comedy. ^_^ One Piece has more of a story whereas Gintama is just comedic, but both very funny and enjoyable.

Both series are primarily light-hearted adventure-series, but they also both have some pretty serious moments. (Though in Dragonball, they're mostly in the last third of the series.) One Piece is also partially inspired by Dragonball.

Toriko and One Piece share a massive world which is build up brilliantly. Both feature a great cast of shounen characters that develop strongly throughout the series in a series of adventures and missions.

Main characters are similar, lots of action, fighting and comedy. Both series place importance on teamwork and friendship. Interesting character designs, same animation studio.

Both of the anime series have a character that isn't the brightest of the bunch as the lead, and they both feature similar themes of being friends with each other, and rescuing one another from harm. Another very similar trait that they share is dreams, while Naruto wants to become the Hokage and Sasuke wants to become powerful enough to defeat Itachi, Luffy wants to become the Pirate King, and members of his crew share amibitions. One Piece is a must-see and by far one of the best shonen anime out there.

Both are motivational shonen series. One Piece tends to have stronger antagonists and the conflicts tend to be more epic, while Boku no Hero Academia has far better animation and is much more focused.

They're both about friendship. There are also people with special abilities (Power Users in TLoU and those who ate the Devil's Fruit in OP). These animes are both shounen and main character is a little (maybe more than little) stupid. Later in both animes the main characters form a 5-man team. They are also similar in some ways: Ueki -> Luffy (stupid, brave, friendly) ; Sano -> Zoro (strong, manly) ; Hideyoshi -> Usopp (liars, weak in combat) ; Mori -> Nami (not very strong in combat girls) ; Chopper -> Tenko.

They are both about a long journey to accomplish a certain goal. And both have long stroy arcs. And the characters in both anime have sad background stories.

Both of them are long shounen series with the major themes of growth, friendship, teamwork, and loyalty. The main characters seem to be immature and irresponsible at first, but when the right time comes, they turn out to be badass. While one of them aspires to be the pirate king and collects crew mates, the other heads toward being a leader in an infamous branch of the mafia and increases the size of his "family." Both anime focuses on searching for friends/teammates ("nakama") while going on variety of adventures and each character has a unique personality as well as abilities that makes them strong and reputable, meeting different people and constantly being chased by the law enforcements in the story. Ultimately, the protagonist and his friends hope to obtain their goal.

When I first started watching One Piece I thought "wow, this is like a mixture between DragonBall and Pokemon." - main characters are similar (kinda slow, don't give up, their hats, their hopes & dreams) - strong theme of friendship, dreams and never giving up - similar art style and very similar music - lots of travelling and seeing new places - each new crew member in One Piece is like a new Pokemon or team mate is Pokemon If you like Pokemon you will hopefully like One Piece and vice versa

Both have great world building and a large caste of characters. Both have two main factions that have conflicted members that you can root for. Both main characters are in search of a mysterious MacGuffin (the Radiant=the One Piece) where the journey is more important than the destination. Both worlds feature traveling to islands in a vast expanse on unique ships. If I were to describe Haikyuu!! in a single sentence to a friend, I'd call it the One Piece of Sports anime. Everyone knows One Piece. One Piece is an action anime that revolves around a no-name pirate who dreams big, makes an impact will not falter in his goal, has friends/crewmates who argue and get into funny situations (and pull hilarious faces) and much more in a epic story with some rivals and villains that you can't help but love because each character is so unique. If like me, you're a fan of Roronoa Zoro and the epic sword battles that take place in 'One Piece' then I would definitely recommend that you watch 'Samurai Champloo'. In addition to one of the characters (Mugan) being voiced by the same actor as Zoro, the swordplay and personalities in Samurai Champloo make it a great watch from start to finish.

They both have the same brand of humor. Additionally, both can draw you into the emotional moments of the story. Luffy is on a quest to become King of the Pirates, Ippo is on a quest to become stronger (aka, win the world feather weight championship). The composition, the mix of humor and seriousness, is the same. It doesn't really have similar setting and world , but that feeling you get from both anime are the same. Both are as great of a shonen series as the other.

I am actually surprised that no one have recommended One Piece to people who liked Shingeki no Kyojin! One Piece and SNK are very similar, despite the difference in pacing, amount of tough violence, number of episodes and overall tone. The story of the two are about accepting the world, beating the unbeatable opponents and taking care of your loved ones. I've found that pirate anime are hard to come by. OP focuses pretty much solely on pirates, but if you've been craving some more, AnY has an arc that is solely based around pirates. Chosen family is also very present in both series, and the mains will do anything to protect their friends. Occasionally allies are left behind, but they tend to be referenced and you get the feeling that they'll be back.

Both are shounen action anime with carefree and independent main characters who nevertheless have a strong loyalty to their friends. Both series give off a similar feeling of an epic endless adventure. Outlaw Star however, was only 26 episodes long. Charimastic leads building up their crews, great female characters (somewhat rare in today's shounen titles), similar settings (Government, Criminals and Bounty hunters).

Heroic firemen and adventurous pirates. Super powers, training sessions and sad backstories. Bad guys, comrades and boobs. Battle shounen, anyone? Their settings, along with the protagonists' goals, may differ but the themes, vibes and characters are akin. We indeed have: the orphaned, highly motivated boy in his late teens; his brother, whom he meets again after years and wishes to save/take back; the older lady simping for the oblivious hero; the muscle head; the self-centered blonde knight; childish comedy; hyperactive action; over the top expressions; questionably written female characters; etc...

Both series deal with friend ship. They also have a similar atmosphere and they both have an undeniable amount of humor. Plus these series are both shounen and deal with water. (little fishing in one piece and nothing about pirates in Tsuritama though.) I really recommend both!! They both are very unique in every which way!! :D

Both shows are shounen action shows with a sense of adventure which feature a group of people fighting against bandits/pirates and a corrupt government. One Piece is MUCH larger in scope, while Sand Land is more bite-sized, but there should be crossover appeal.

Both main characters have the same goal: become the best of their worlds. While in Pokemon they travel in the lands, challenging people and dealing with the bad guys, in One Piece they travel in the sea, dealing with the bad guys and the ones that should be considered the "good guys". Both animes are slow, but will give you a weekly dose of entertainment

World Destruction and One piece are similar because... I.) They both have animals that talk. II.) The main characters are wanted. III.) Both involve finding something important. Example: The One Piece (One piece) and The Destruction Code (World Destruction) IV.) Both have pirates. '"V(*u*)V"'

Similiar shounen story about a boy who wants to become something. In both animes, main character goes long way, meeting new powerful friends, rivals and enemies along the way. There are high spirited fights with unique characters, lots of fun.

Ore Monogatari!! and One Piece both have the same kind of fun humour and stories. You get involved in the story and it's easy to get excited! While One Piece is a shounen adventure story, Ore Monogatari!! has a completely different set of genres; shoujo romance. It's not your typical shoujo romance, mind you, it's full of genuine comedy and good characters. So, if you're watching One Piece and craving a shoujo that doesn't feel like All Those Other Shoujo Animes™, try Ore Monogatari!! You'll be positively surprised! 8~D

Both animes are 「B I Z A R R E」 at their own ways. World construction is really wide. Power can get really random sometimes. P.S.: I tagged my favorite (animated) JoJo part but it's not the first one. You can check the order at the anime's page

Both are popular, long lasting shounen franchises that are still airing new material in 2017. Both anime balance boast a fine blend of comedy and action, with the main characters sharing a few similar traits. For instance it could be said that both Luffy and Goku love food more than anything else- except for the lives of their friends/nakama. Toei Animation handles both series.

"kanata no astra" and "one piece" are two gems in adventure genre. in fact, both the series have a very wonderful settings which is really easy to get into. besides, if you like animez with lots of wonderfully fleshed-out character, particularly a strong and dependable MC who jokes around all the time but gets serious when needed, i promise you won't regret watching these.

Yuma and Luffy sets out in the quest to find their fathers and complete their overall objective (Yuma for the Duel Champion and Luffy for Pirate King) Art style are identical as it is meant to fool the viewers believing it is childish until later points of the stories twists it to make it darker and mature to live up to it's target audience none other than teens

The main leader protagonists of these series (Bell / Luffy) are in pursuit of adventure. They are able to draw friends and comrades to their side rather easily. They each form small groups (a party / a pirate crew) in order to go deeper in their respective adventures. They get extremely stronger as the series progresses, and also have a personal strength benchmark that they're aiming for (Bell wants to catch up to Aiz, while Luffy wants to surpass Shanks). Both are disgusted by their own weaknesses. Lily (of DanMachi) and Nami (of One Piece) also share some notable similarities in terms of, among other  read more

Luffy and Joe are similar in a few ways. They're really strong, have a lot a cool tricks up there sleeves, protect their friends, and are really funny. With both Luffy and Joe, when I first started watching they both came off as annoying but i grew to love 'em both. Other than that VJ and OP both have great action scenes and a decent plot.

Both have the pirate romance in it's true sense. People pursued by the world government put pirate flags on their ships and sail freely across the seas, be it with water or stars, and try to do what's right. Crew members of both Luffy and Herlock tend to have sad backstories, related to the enemies the crews fight.

One Piece and Radiant have the same concept, having a dream to become the strongest and finding something. Both main character have a special power they have yet to master and rise up through their journey. Both anime also deal with serious topics such as discrimination.

- The protagonists Luffy and Touma are both all about protecting and saving others regardless of any consequences. They both have limited amount of power but somehow manage to survive many fights against most powerful villains. They continue to grow with each battle and gain new companions in their journey. - Both are compromised mostly of comedy, action, and fantasy elements

Although they are different, they both tell the story of pirates and vikings going on adventures. Eichiro Oda, who created One Piece, has stated that Vickie The Viking is his biggest influence and the reason why he created the One Piece manga to begin with.
