Hello there!
I’m just your average late-20s dude from Greece who’s into anime. Nothing flashy, nothing wild. Honestly, I might be more boring than you'd expect.
When I’m not watching anime or reading manga, I keep things pretty low-key: strolling around, working, drinking coffee, taking pictures with my camera, gaming, geeking out over astronomy, listening to music, wasting my time and money on gacha games, and hanging out with friends and family. You know, the simple pleasures in life.
I used to have one of those big flashy profiles full of aesthetic gifs, colors, fonts, and wallpapers. Not to brag, but it was quite impressive. It was fun while it lasted, but after all these years, I got bored of it. Why did I delete it? Let’s just say I lost interest, and that’s all you need to know. For now, it’s a plain layout, nothing too fancy. One day I’ll bring back a more spectacular look, but right now, I’m going with a "less bling, more chill" vibe. When will I do it? No idea. Could be tomorrow, in a week, in a month, or sometime in the next decade.
I know it’s not much, but for the time being, you’ll have to settle for this simple and boring version.
As for my rating system, I honestly have no idea why anyone would care about this, but if you’re extremely curious for whatever reason, here it goes:
10 – Pure Brilliance
My absolute favorites. The crème de la crème of my journey through the medium. These are the top-tier, once-in-a-lifetime experiences that left a lasting impression. They’re either flawless or so damn good that any flaws are insignificant. No matter how much time passes, they’ll always stick with me.
9 – Almost Perfect
Almost perfect, but just a tiny step away from being in the 10/10 club. These are still some of the best experiences I’ve had, and they’re undeniably memorable. Maybe there’s a minor flaw, or maybe they didn’t hit quite as hard as my 10s, but they come very, very close. Highly recommended.
8 – A Great Time
A very solid and thoroughly enjoyable experience. It kept me engaged, entertained, and left a strong impression, even if it wasn’t the "next level" type of title. Maybe it had a few rough edges, or just didn’t hit as hard as my higher-rated ones, but I still had a blast with it. Definitely worth checking out
7 – Worth It
A well-made title that did its job. Nothing groundbreaking, but I had a fun time with it. There might be some noticeable flaws, or maybe it didn’t leave a strong impression, but I don’t regret it at all. Still enjoyed it nonetheless. Worth checking out if it’s your kind of thing.
6 – Decent, but Forgettable
Not bad, not great—just good enough. It had its moments, and I didn’t dislike it, but it lacked that extra push to be memorable. Maybe it was fun but forgettable, or maybe it had an interesting premise that wasn’t fully realized. A fine experience overall, but nothing special.
5 – Just There
Right in the middle. Not bad, but not particularly enjoyable either. There might have been a character, a soundtrack, or a few moments I liked, but overall, it didn’t do much for me. If I finished it, chances are I forced myself to. Just kinda… whatever.
4 – Full of Missed Potential
It had potential but just didn’t deliver. The idea or concept might have been good, but something about it fell flat. Whether it was due to pacing issues, poor execution, or a general lack of engagement, it ended up feeling more underwhelming than anything else. Not the worst thing ever, but it definitely left a bitter taste.
3 – So Bad, It’s actually Good(?)
Yeah, it’s bad, but at least it’s fun bad. Either it was unintentionally hilarious or just so ridiculous that I couldn’t take it seriously. I wouldn’t call it a good experience, but sometimes things are so terrible they may become entertaining in their own way.
2 – A Waste of Time
Painful to sit through. There’s almost nothing redeemable here, and it’s either frustratingly bad, completely incompetent, or just a waste of time. Maybe there’s one tiny thing I can appreciate, but overall, this is something I’d never recommend.
1 – Absolute Trash
How did this even get made? Just a complete disaster in every way possible. Not only was it bad, but it was offensively bad. If I gave something a 1, I genuinely think it has no reason to exist. Avoid at all costs.
Unrated - Lost to Time, or Just Not Worth It
These titles don’t fit into my usual rating system for one reason or another. Maybe I haven’t decided on a score yet, or it’s been so long since I last interacted with them that assigning a number feels pointless. Other times, they’re just too insignificant to bother. Things like spin-offs, OVAs, specials, filler content, or one-shots that add little to nothing to the main story. Short titles also end up here, especially when they don’t fit the usual anime/manga mold, making it harder to apply my standard rating scale.
Will I ever rate them? Maybe, maybe not. If that somehow ruins your day, I sincerely hope you find better things to care about.
I enjoy chatting with fellow fans and making new connections, so feel free to reach out if you want to talk. That said, I'm not the best at replying promptly, so please be patient. I'll get back to you as soon as possible.
Also, I don't accept random friend requests. I'd appreciate having a conversation first. There’s no reason to add me if you don’t plan on talking, as it defeats the purpose of connecting.
Haha I've met my fair share of the negative types, though mostly because of reasons other than super late replies. And when it comes to Discord, I'm not very active there. Just looking at discussions from time to time xD But anyways, yes! Mal is super outdated, no kidding. I don't know what you're using to write replies, but I use my phone (no app, just browser) and I've lost count of how many times my message was deleted while I was writing... now I type everything in notes, copy it then paste it ^^; As you can see, it takes me a while to get back to people, but it works somehow.
Ohh and a group chat feature on Mal would be awesome! How many years will it take for them to make that wish come true tho xD
Was there a particular reason that made you change or was it just random? From what you've said, it seems like that was a pretty big change :o
Ohh, of course I have heard of it! It's definitely one of the most popular self help books out there haha. I wanted to read it or tried to read it, but idk why I never did. Do let me know if it's interesting/worth reading! I'm also curious about your list of books you're gonna read! I would make one too, but as a mood reader, I can't really stick to a plan xD
Yep, I thought it might be something you'll love considering the title and topics. Are you more into nonfiction books btw?
Seasonals: Orb: Okay, Orb recently ended and what a ride that was! Ep 23 was the one with Nowak in the church, right? That was one of the best episodes, I didn't think Rafal made such a lasting impression on him. And the fact that he realised his daughter was the leader... :') how did you like the ending btw? People seem to have mixed opinions, but I'm one of those who liked it even though I agree it's not entirely perfect. I'm still unsure how to rate it yet. Flower and Asura: Oh, that's an interesting way to rate a show! Tbh I never prioritize those aspects over enjoyment, but everyone has their own way to judge media I suppose. So yeah, I still like Flower and Asura, it just feels like nothing much happend now that we're so close to the final ep. I wonder if there will be a season 2, that would definitely be nice.
Now that most of the winter seasonals are almost over, do you have an anime of the season? My top 3 are Apothecary Diaries S2, Toilet Bound Hanako-kun S2 and either Medalist or Zenshuu.
Oh, do you know your mbti type? I know it's not exactly a test to be taken seriously, but it's pretty fun :3
I'm suddenly not so sure I will watch it either, mostly because it's going to have 20+ eps and I'm not sure I can keep up with so many seasonals at once. There are a lot I'm interested in lol. Plus I kind of want to read the books first, so idk 🤔 Episodic shows usually take a while to finish because binging them doesn't really work, not for me at least.
Yeah, waiting a bit is the right call in this case otherwise you might end up in a slump xD
I've learnt to do that over the years as well! Used to be a completionist, but a friend here influenced me in a good way haha. She has such a long dropped list! But that's only fair if you check out multiple seasonals and decide which ones to stick with. I'm slowly learning to be better at dropping shows I have no interest in ^^; With manga it's a different story, I instantly drop everything that doesn't catch my attention haha.
I have actually! Galaxy Express 999 is one of those cases. I've only watched like 4 episodes, until I put it on hold for a while, then I didn't get back into it. The thing is, this show seems like something I'll really like even though it's old, but since it is episodic, I had a hard time binging it. Now that I remembered it, I really want to get back into it, but who knows when will that happen :))
When it comes to manga it's a completely different story, I usually don't feel the need go finish them quickly as you can see from my reading list. What about you? Are you the same with manga?
Thank you! They're from Omniscient Reader's Viewpoint, a webnovel I've read last year and absolutely loved! There is a manhwa too and it's also getting an anime adaptation! When I discover something cool, I only feel the need to display art from that certain story. This is why I only had ORV pics lately haha. Before this, it was mostly Frieren ^^;
Your new profile pic is really pretty as well! It's giving spring vibes :3
(Very belated) thanks for your kind New Year's well wishes!
Thank you also for directing me to the video. Yes, I remember you telling me when you made the first one. Don't worry, I don't find it weird, in fact, if I'm being honest, I'm still kinda getting used to your new one ^^"
Nice that you're doing another project too! I'm looking forward to when it's finished c:
Now you're so caught up on Apothecary Diaries that you're ahead of me ^^" Are you enjoying the winter season? I admit I was a bit overeager and started too many shows at once. I've got to trim down in spring.
I hope that you are doing well and that my next reply won't be two months late.
It was actually interesting to discuss this with someone who felt in a similar way about replies. Did you meet a lot of people like that here? Because I've known like 3 who take ages to reply, even when they're watching anime and stuff. This will be my last question about this subject xD
Oh, you lasted more than me haha. I decided pretty early on that that kind of lifestyle wasn't for me. It might be fun, but also makes me super tired, so I needed to have some boundaries. You could say I've always been an old soul xD
Yeah, it's my main choice of entertainment! I watched a lot especially during the pandemic, because keeping up with a few seasonals isn't very hard for me. I watch a lot less now, because I use my free time for other hobbies like reading, but it quickly adds up if you're consistent haha.
Phasmophobia: Ahh okay, now I understand why! Though I'd definitely be that friend xDD Hollow Knight: Oh, so there will be a sequel? I think that was the criticism my brother had for it as well, but I'm still curious why it gets so much praise. Stray: Okay, based on what you said, this seems like such a lovely game! I agree that it shouldn't be a problem if nothing much happens since you're playing as a cat. Like what do people even expect? An action packed game? xD Cyberpunk + cats sounds like such a great combo imo.
Ohhh Sapiens is actually one of my favourite books ever! The author is very knowledgeable and managed to write in a way that anyone can understand, so I really appreciate that as some books tend to get a bit boring or hard to follow after a while. He has more books I want to read, like "Homo Deus: A History of Tomorrow" which sounds really interesting too! But anyways, a book I always recommend if you want easy to get into science books is The Universe in your Hand. If you're like me and find physics or quantum science intimidating, then you'll appreciate this too. I also remember you said you love space, so there's a good chance you'll like this too! Definitely one of my favs.
Another really good nonfiction book and one of my personal favourites is How to be Perfect. This book was soo fun! It makes philosophy so much more accessible and the author's witty sense of humour is delightful. This is one of those "feel good" books despite it being nonfiction haha.
Orb: okay ep 20 was heartbreaking... I don't think Novak recognized Jolenta though, but he technically still held her hand one last time :') I also expected this, but well, I don't really know what will come next. Apothecary Diaries S2: Yep, just as good as always! I'm starting to really like the opening song, which is great because this show didn't have a single bad op yet! Sakamoto Days: Definitely agree it's not very engaging, I also dropped it because of that too. I just found it too repetitive. Sakamoto's plot armor wasn't particularly funny either, and this comes from someone who's a fan of One Punch Man xD Well, too bad. But I don't wanna waste time when there are so many great shows to check out. Flower and Asura: Honestly, this was more of a random thought because it looks like something Gooseflower would enjoy (and I assumed you guys have similar taste?) but I still think you'd enioy it too. Not that it's like Hyouka, but they're both chill school anime with beautiful directing. I've never seen an anime about a broadcasting club before, so all the literature parts are a nice bonus!
Ohh I think I skipped Ameku M.D. because of how young the main character looks xD But I read the synopsis now and it does sound interesting! I'm just not ready to be disappointed if it's too silly, like with Sakamoto Days lol. But let me know if you watch it and think it's good!
I completely agree with this! One of the worst things that can happen when you watch seasonals tbh ^^; Like, I'm not completely sure I wanna drop a show, but I'm not exactly having the time of my life watching it, so what do I do?? At least with bad shows you can laugh because of how ridiculous they are xD
That is a nice way to think about it! I've never been the type to make new years resolutions tbh, because I know that if I really want to do something, I will even without making any ^^; So yeah, I totally relate to your wishing to keep things chill. That being said, if others want to make resolutions I'd totally support them! They can have all the fun they want, it's just not for me haha.
Unrelated, but I noticed you put Akage no Anne on hold. Will you be watching the remake first?
Haha isn't it just the worst!
Ikr I immediately start to consider if I really want to keep trying to have an actual conversation with that person lol. It's a bit difficult when both people write long messages though, because it gets longer and longer, so it takes a lot more time to reply. I also understand that some people are just busy, so it'll take time for them to have the energy to write back ^^;
Oh yes, feel free to feel special xD I agree haha.
So you were still using Mal but just didn't update anything? Maybe you were more interested in something else, like games? As for me, I actually only started watching anime more "seriously" in 2020 when I made an account here xD Before that, I was watching like 3-5 anime per year. I never took a proper break, but it's not like I was watching much, so yeah.
Okay, so I googled Phasmophobia and it looks so cool. But at the same time, I'm not good with horror games so it might be too scary for me haha. How can it be funny though? I'm curious xD
Ohhh Hollow Knight is on my list of "games to try sometime" :D I heard very good things about it and overall seems like such a cozy game. Pretty much everyone loves it.
As for Stray, well, I'm a huge cat person, so this immediately drew my attention. Looks like such a good game but hopefully nothing bad happens to cats here :') Also the setting seems so unique, like cats + cyberpunk? I've never seen that!
I'm open to most genres tbh, but my favourites are fantasy, thriller, mystery. I also enjoy some nonfiction from time to time. I can tell you some of my favourites next time! But do you usually read books too?
Oh yeah, I wasn't talking about him, but a lot of users here are like that. You obviously know him better, but I can definitely see why you think that about the way he expresses himself. Sometimes people can be toxic without meaning to, I guess.
Seasonals: Blue Box: Ikr! And she keeps being awesome! Agh, why does Taiki have zero chemistry with Chi... I wouldn't have minded Hina losing then ^^; Orb: I also found it a bit difficult to get used to the sudden change, but I'm starting to like Draka as a main character for now. Also, I kind of expected who the leader will be, but it was still a pretty cool reveal.
Wow, you're really not watching that many! I was too curious about many shows this season xD The Apothecary Diaries S2: currently reading the light novels, so I already know what happens but this is still so fun! Sakamoto Days: honestly, it's a lot more goofy than I expected but I'll probably keep watching for a bit (is there another anime besides Gintama that has Sugita voicing the MC?) Medalist: I only started watching it because a friend said it's good, but so far I'm really enjoying it. The characters are lovely haha. Honey Lemon Soda: another one that's not what I expected, pretty mediocre so far Toilet Bound Hanako-kun S2: I've been waiting for this for sooo long!! Really enjoying this, as expected of one of my fav manga of all time <3 Flower and Asura: another pleasant surprise! and it is by the same author as Hibike Euphonium! I think you might enjoy this one as well! Solo Leveling S2: very entertaining watch, I like it more than the first season Tasokare Hotel: game adaptation (which made me worried) but so far it's pretty good! I'm a fan of mystery anime and this one's episodic My Happy Marriage S2: I don't know if I prefer it over S1, not sure what to think about it so far Zenshuu: I didn't expect this to be an isekai lol, but it's pretty enjoyable! Link Click Bridon Arc: soo excited for this one, I will binge it when the final episode airs but from what I've seen, it's gonna be really good haha
So yeah, these are the ones I'm currently watching! I think there are quite a few good ones ^^;
I can understand if they want to finish a certain show someone recommended, for example. Or if they're curious how it'll end. That's how it is for me at least. I usually try to give them a chance before dropping, unless they're really really boring. That's the thing I hate the most xD
Ah, I see. It is not mandatory here, but it sounds like kind of a waste tbh. And if it's like that, I don't really see how it helps regular citizens or what they're trying to teach :/
Haha no worries, it happens! Thank you for the lovely wishes anyway :3 Btw are you the type that makes new years resolutions?
Hello Pokitaru! I wish you the happiest of birthdays, and all the best for the young year of 2025! I hope this year will be full of new opportunities and pleasant encounters. Treat yourself to something today and be of good cheer! ^^
(I really liked your and your friends' new ranking of anime openings you exhibited on your profile a while ago. Sadly I can't find it again :( Can you link me to it? c:)
Well, it's like you said, it depends on each person and what you're talking about. Because meaningful conversations take a while to get back to. But yeah, definitely not months lol. Or if you're writing longer, more thoughtful replies and the other person sends back a super short reply every single time.. I'm just going to assume they're not in the mood to talk anymore. Because I usually take my time to send a proper reply, I don't want the other person to just skim over what I said. So yeah, my point is, I don't think you're crazy xD It's perfectly reasonable to want more than one reply per year haha.
Aww, I'm happy you think so! You're one of the few people I regularly talk to here, that approached me first. Usually, I'm the one to leave the first comment ^^;
Yeah, but sometimes you just need a break from a certain medium in order to gain motivation again haha. I still think I'm going to keep up with seasonals for a long time because it's fun. Oh, I'm not a big gamer so I usually just watch or read stuff (mostly anime and books/manga). Sometimes I do like to play some fighting games with my brother though, it's pretty fun! What games do you like?
Omg so I'm not the only one who thinks this xD Well, he is not the first person to do this sadly. People really like to prove they're "superior" for seeing flaws in your favourite anime here on Mal. The funny part is that I really get along with Fotsuan, despite this annoying side of him lol. We are pretty chill now! But I'm also a huge Gintama fan, and of course he wouldn't like the movie that much if he isn't a fan, no? I really hope he knows that no matter what he says, you or any other person won't change their opinion of a favourite show just like that. It's not possible.
Ahh a lot of people on here need to learn that xD When Oshi no Ko's first season was airing, a friend and I decided to write reviews for it and omg the fans went crazy! My friend was "lucky" to have his review become super popular, so he got a lot more hate than I did. You can probably imagine how many people left comments saying we didn't understand the show haha.
From what we've talked so far, you seem to be pretty respectful, not that we've disagreed much but still. So where does someone find the energy to argue like that, I genuinely don't know xD
Oh, it was Pretty Devil! I always like to listen to the stuff my friends have in their bio. On the other hand, Brave New World isn't my thing, though I love some parts of it! And the video is really nice too.
Maybe I'm biased, but Psycho Pass's OP is just too good not to be in my top 5 at least haha.
Seasonals: Blue Box: Ahh I really want Hina to be endgame ngl! Chinatsu is cool too, but she doesn't have any chemistry with our MC ^^; Blue Lock: I agree, there are so many interesting characters! Bachira is also among my top 5 fav characters! Aryu is cool too, of course xD I'm not a fan of Rin (not yet, at least) but who knows. Do you read the manga too? Orb: It's just soo good! Ep 14 proved once again that I can never guess where the story is going. So sad though >.<
Toilet Bound Hanako-kun S2 (soo excited about this one, I've been waiting for so long!!)
Link Click Bridon Arc (another one I'm super excited about!!)
The Apothecary Diaries S2 (started reading the light novels for this one, but I'm still excited about the show!)
Solo Leveling S2
Sakamoto Days (heard very good things about this one)
My Happy Marriage S2
Zenshuu (watched the first ep without looking at the synopsis, so I was surprised to know it's an isekai lol)
Honey Lemon Soda
Flower and Asura
Koishima
Tasokare Hotel (the first ep looked interesting)
I watched the first episode of Fate Strange Fake too, but seems like it won't be airing this season after all.
It might seem like a lot right now, but these are all the shows I plan to check out, so it doesn't necessarily mean I'll finish them all. I'm just gonna drop whatever doesn't keep my interest after a few eps ^^;
What about you? Any shows you're excited about?
Oh well, that happens sometimes. No need to force yourself to continue something that doesn't interest you. There are way too many cool anime out there!
Oh, is military service mandatory in Greece? :o
Happy New Year!! 🎉🎉 Thank you for the lovely, colorful message! I wish you all the best, hope this year will bring lots of great things (and anime!) <3
Hello! ⭐
Thank you so much for your comment! I was smiling the entire time I was reading it.
I'm so glad you liked my recommendations! I was nervous, especially with Murai no Koi, since people seem to either hate it or they really love it.
And of course, you don't have to watch them right away! haha. Take your time. I'm just happy I got a reply back. During past Secret Santa events, people didn't even bother to leave a simple "thank you". Not even a "I didn't like your gift." but oh well. I guess MAL is just a community full of introverts. haha
I like your profile also! And yes, I would love to keep in touch.
Sooo had our roles been reversed, there was a chance I'll never hear from you again. Damn xD I usually just get back to replying normally, even if it's been like 100 years haha.
There was a time when I only watched Naruto, so I can relate xD Though it was during my first year of highschool. I don't know how I did it tbh, like how can you watch one show all year? The current me could never lol. But hopefully Hyouka will still be special for you after a rewatch!
As a huge HxH fan, it's really painful to say this but you're probably right. That's why I didn't start the manga yet, because by the time a new chapter's out I might've forgotten what happend. But hey, Togashi might really finish it, who knows! I wouldn't mind it if he let someone else continue it if he doesn't feel like it. I suppose his art is not that great either? :')
Yes, you get it! Tbh some people seem to miss the point of PPTA entirely. Or they just hate the animation (which is crazy because it looks incredible imo!), but that's why I'm not sure if I should mention Ping Pong when I talk about sports anime haha. It's waay more than that. But yeah, Fotsuan is not very understanding when it comes to the shows he dislikes ^^; I've had a few arguments with him before. Well, I call them arguments, but it was more like him telling me how much he hates some of my favourite anime xD Even so, we always got along pretty well! If Fotsuan is reading this, hopefully he won't mind ahaha.
You have some great taste then! Ergo Proxy's opening is one of my favourites as well! I think the ending song was pretty fitting too. Oh, Ergo Proxy is one of those shows that Fotsuan hates xD But anyways, I hope you enjoy it! It has an open ending and relies on symbolism a lot, in other words, it's not spoon feeding the viewer at all. Which is totally understandable why a new anime watcher wouldn't like it haha.
Like, I get that they want to be always right or that they want their favourite story to be the very best, but that's just not possible. Everything is subjective after all. Okay, but if someone misunderstands a little detail, it's not like you can change much by arguing xD It's their problem if they didn't understand, we can't make everyone see what we see in a show, like wtf. You sound like you met a lot of those types of people xD
Well, I liked Angels of Death when I first watched it, sure. But now? Hell no!! I've recently rewatched it and yeah... it's pretty edgy :))) I still love the opening/ending though!
Hey, maybe the second season won't disappoint you! Who knows ;D
Oh, so you knew about Ace before you actually got to that part? It must've been really annoying. For me, it's not that bad since I know nothing else about the story, but being spoiled of such a thing while you watch really sucks :')
Yeah, it probably takes a long time to make it look like you want to. Waiting until you feel like going through such a long process sounds like a good idea ngl haha. Sometimes, even something simple can say a lot about the person. And seeing things like your current obssesions is fun! I've listened to that song in your bio while writing this and it is super catchy xD
Woah it must really mean a lot to you then :o I absolutely love the song as well! And ngl I really love the lyrics too, like you don't have to be a monster/ghoul to find some meaning in them ^^; When I first read the english lyrics I was quite blown away, if only the anime was just as good...
As for my favourite openings, uhh, that's a very hard question haha. I love all the ones I have in my bio, but if I were to pick, let's say, three of them... HxH (1999) OP 2, Serial Experiments Lain OP and Psycho Psycho OP 2. But I could easily add more tbh, like there are so many good openings 😅 And my favourites are different everyday.
Seasonals:
Okay, so dropping 365 days was probably the right choice. Blue Box: ohh I definitely agree with this being basically a shoujo xD the MC is the problem for me, because I don't like him much lol. It also doesn't help that I'm team Hina haha. But I'll keep watching until the end! Dandadan: Yeah, like you said, this is pretty enjoyable but the story is not that special. I could even say I heavily dislike some parts (like that one scene from ep 1...). Only episode 7 was actually good and emotional. But I would probably watch a sequel if I don't watch that many seasonals during that time. Blue Lock: The thing is, while I totally believe the animation is not doing justice to the story this time, I'm also pretty biased since this is my favourite arc and I enjoy it no matter what haha. I'm having the time of my life even with such a lacking animation lol. You have my respect for not caring about it though :3 And my fav is Nagi btw! I looove lazy/chill characters like him haha. What about you? Orb: I also forget the most important shows sometimes lol. Funnily enough, it could also be my second seasonal that might enter my favourites (first being Sousou no Frieren), as I'm a huge fan of historical/philosophical anime too. But it being about astronomy? That's the cherry on top! And the twists are great too, they totally fooled me with Rafal at first. I really didn't expect him to die. But I like the new characters just as much. Even Novak, he is such a great antagonist, no kidding. Rurouni Kenshin remake: This remake is pretty good, I enjoyed the first season too! Though fans of the old version complained about the music since it's not fitting for the show, apparently. I haven't seen the old anime so nothing bothers me. Kenshin definitely has a bit of a plot armor though ^^;
Tbh I wanted to start reading the novels for Anne of Green Gables, but guess I'm watching the remake first lol. But yeah, it would be pretty cool if you'd find a new favourite! The feeling of finding one is incredible haha.
I definitely prefer Ergo Proxy more, but Texhnolyze has a lot to offer as well. It is also more depressing than Ergo Proxy, even though I don't think the ending is as depressing as everyone says it is. It depends on your perspective, I guess. But yeah, just don't expect everyone to live ^^;
Oh, did you drop the first season? I'm definitely planning on continuing it since it's pretty enjoyable. But not right now because I need to watch what my Santa recommends me first haha. Did you participate in the secret santa event btw?
Oh no, I'm really sorry about that! Replying late happens sometimes, but the fact that I thought I already replied to you in my mind is crazy. It's not even the first time it happend :')
Me too, I'm already thinking it might be AOTY if the adaptation is good enough haha. Yeah, isekai stories are everywhere these days. It's funny how non-anime fans find isekai refreshing while otakus are simply done with it xD
Oh, seems like you made a wise decision after all haha. I still enjoyed season 4 and from season 5 it started going downhill a bit, but season 6 was just awful. Villains are winning because of plot armor and they've spent 20+ episodes fighting, but the bad guys are still getting stronger. Like come on! It's just annoying at this point.
Ohh I'm really excited to watch Hyouka and knowing it stuck with you this long is a good sign! It would've been nice if I watched such memorable shows back then too, but I was only keeping up with Naruto Shippuden at the time haha.
To me, HxH 1999 is only below the 2011 version because it didn't adapt the best arc aka Chimera Ant. Yorknew City arc is an absolute masterpiece in the old one. I love how it's not as flashy as the 2011 version and yet, it seems even more meaningful. I love both versions though, what can I say haha. At this point I think I'll enjoy HxH in any format xD
Do you consider it a "dead franchise" because the manga hasn't been updating?
I'm glad you enjoyed Ping Pong! It might not be everyone's cup of tea *cough*Fotsuan*cough* but those who want to appreciate it can definitely get a lot out of it. It's obviously one of my favourite sports anime of all time, even though it's not as much about the sport itself as it is about the characters and their growth imo. Did you have a favourite character?
Thanks! I'm thinking of adding Frieren to my top 20 anime when I'll update it, because it was a very memorable experience. Ohh I have a feeling Erin and Sangatsu no Lion would be to your liking! I'm not sure about Ergo Proxy, because it is very different from these two. The OP song is simply amazing though!
I try not to take things personally, even if someone criticizes a show I like. And hating people who love a show you absolutely disliked is pointless, no? I find it funny when you love a certain anime and then someone comes to point out its flaws, as if that can make you change your mind just like that xD Omg I really liked Angels of Death when I watched it haha. But I've recently rewatched it with a friend and it's way too edgy for me now lol. For me Anohana was just okay, nothing too bad but nothing special either.
Maybe if the MC was different I could've liked it more, since I enjoyed the fantasy aspect. But yeah, I'm not into harem isekais lol. Omg the Dio meme could work so well with many shows ngl xD
My brother adores FLCL, he thinks it was a perfect anime. But to me it was just stupid. I don't plan on giving it a second chance, but if you do end up rewatching it, I'm curious about your thoughts! From what I remember, the music was pretty cool.
Yeah, summer season is always the weakest. I'm also surprised Shoushimin Series got a second season! Who would've guessed. I definitely thought I'm gonna have to continue with the novels if I wanted to know what happens next. Hopefully we'll get to know more about the characters since I feel like we barely know them. I'm especially curious about Osanai!
Episode 0 spoils the last volume of the manga iirc, so you shouldn't start with that if you want to know nothing about the story. I skipped it completely. But yeah, there have to be some guides out there for when you want to watch it!
I only know one spoiler from One Piece (about Ace) and hoping to avoid other spoilers until I watch the remake or read the manga ^^;
Well, I do read long profiles ngl xD Because I think it's interesting what people have to share about themselves or the shows they like. In some cases, it even makes them more approachable too imo. But as I've said, simple profiles are also nice! And easier to update/change, so that's a plus haha.
Thank you, I appreciate it! I guess I'm just too lazy to write too much in my profile. Even updating my favourite characters takes time ^^;
Wow, you guys sure loved it a lot! I have to admit I'm not the biggest fan of it though xD I prefer Call of the Night's opening and ending instead haha. Btw which opening would be your personal favourite?
Ooh I'm definitely gonna be watching the endings video too! They are just as good as openings, it's a shame people skip them most of the time.
Okay, so literally everyone who watched 365 Days to the Wedding said it's boring. Seems like I dodged a bullet with that one lol. Orb is also my favourite one, it was such a nice surprise! I'm also watching:
Blue Lock S2 - such a shame the animation is so bad, this is one of the best arcs!
Blue Box - it's okay, the characters are a bit bland though (except for Hina)
Dandadan - I dropped the manga after the first chapter, but I somehow managed to keep watching the anime haha
Rurouni Kenshin remake
Trillion Game - very dumb but kinda funny
Yakuza Fiance - trashy romance but surprisingly entertaining, the male lead is a huge red flag though
NegaPosi Angler - fishing anime with a depressed MC (quite wholesome)
Ohh Anne of Green Gables is a good choice because it will get a remake next year! I'm so excited even though I know nothing about the story haha.
Okay so aside from seasonals, I've recently finished Texhnolyze and loved it! It is supposed to be a very bleak cyberpunk anime and, even though it is, I found the ending a lot less depressing than people usually claim it is. But as a fan of Serial Experiments Lain, I knew I'm gonna find Texhnolyze pretty meaningful as well!
I've also watched the first season of Demon Slayer and it was pretty fun. I mean, it's not a masterpiece or anything, but it was enjoyable. I also like Tanjirou as a MC, he is such a cinnamon roll haha. And I finally found a Lisa song that I like xD The OP is quite catchy!
Hmm.. time to check the other site, whasitsname.. anilist ? But of course having years of data on MAL doesn't help changing.. Just remember to backup sometime.
Clannad - idk. Read a review on after story and seems to have the same problems. Can't say, for now I feel no urge to watch but also kinda want to finish it to have a clear opinion.
Hmm. Am I getting a feeling that dubs are regarded as something inferior ? What's your take, what do you chose by default ?
Let me give you an example - from your beloved Garden of Words, if you fancy sparing 3 minutes. Compare the confession scene at around 34th minute mark in sub and dub. How the "happiest time of my life" sounds in japanese and english, then how they altered the confession in english. How the strict and direct japanese confession compares to his too shy first words in english. The teacher's VA did a great job, stepping out of her stereotypical roles and voice manner. Yeah those are the kind of things that work for me. Getting carried away here..
Murai in Love is interesting. It's quick and witty and doesn't try too hard. It's animation is a slideshow basically, but it seems intentional and it's acceptable to me but I guess it could be a deal breaker for some. It did also surprised me with some plot elements and scenes. Watched it as broadcasted and I was actually waiting for episodes, so that's a pass.

Seasonals:
Orb: Okay, Orb recently ended and what a ride that was!
Thank you! They're from Omniscient Reader's Viewpoint, a webnovel I've read last year and absolutely loved! There is a manhwa too and it's also getting an anime adaptation! When I discover something cool, I only feel the need to display art from that certain story. This is why I only had ORV pics lately haha. Before this, it was mostly Frieren ^^;
Your new profile pic is really pretty as well! It's giving spring vibes :3
Ikr I immediately start to consider if I really want to keep trying to have an actual conversation with that person lol. It's a bit difficult when both people write long messages though, because it gets longer and longer, so it takes a lot more time to reply. I also understand that some people are just busy, so it'll take time for them to have the energy to write back ^^;
Oh yes, feel free to feel special xD I agree haha.
Seasonals:
Blue Box: Ikr! And she keeps being awesome! Agh, why does Taiki have zero chemistry with Chi... I wouldn't have minded Hina losing then ^^;
Orb: I also found it a bit difficult to get used to the sudden change, but I'm starting to like Draka as a main character for now. Also, I kind of expected who the leader will be, but it was still a pretty cool reveal.
(I really liked your and your friends' new ranking of anime openings you exhibited on your profile a while ago. Sadly I can't find it again :( Can you link me to it? c:)
Aww, I'm happy you think so! You're one of the few people I regularly talk to here, that approached me first. Usually, I'm the one to leave the first comment ^^;
Seasonals:
Blue Box: Ahh I really want Hina to be endgame ngl! Chinatsu is cool too, but she doesn't have any chemistry with our MC ^^;
Blue Lock: I agree, there are so many interesting characters!
I hope you have an amazing year ahead, also! ❤️
Seasonals:
Okay, so dropping 365 days was probably the right choice.
Blue Box: ohh I definitely agree with this being basically a shoujo xD the MC is the problem for me, because I don't like him much lol. It also doesn't help that I'm team Hina haha. But I'll keep watching until the end!
Dandadan: Yeah, like you said, this is pretty enjoyable but the story is not that special. I could even say I heavily dislike some parts (like that one scene from ep 1...). Only episode 7 was actually good and emotional. But I would probably watch a sequel if I don't watch that many seasonals during that time.
Blue Lock: The thing is, while I totally believe the animation is not doing justice to the story this time, I'm also pretty biased since this is my favourite arc and I enjoy it no matter what haha. I'm having the time of my life even with such a lacking animation lol. You have my respect for not caring about it though :3 And my fav is Nagi btw! I looove lazy/chill characters like him haha. What about you?
Orb: I also forget the most important shows sometimes lol. Funnily enough, it could also be my second seasonal that might enter my favourites (first being Sousou no Frieren), as I'm a huge fan of historical/philosophical anime too. But it being about astronomy? That's the cherry on top! And the twists are great too, they totally fooled me with Rafal at first. I really didn't expect him to die. But I like the new characters just as much. Even Novak, he is such a great antagonist, no kidding.
Rurouni Kenshin remake: This remake is pretty good, I enjoyed the first season too! Though fans of the old version complained about the music since it's not fitting for the show, apparently. I haven't seen the old anime so nothing bothers me. Kenshin definitely has a bit of a plot armor though ^^;
Tbh I wanted to start reading the novels for Anne of Green Gables, but guess I'm watching the remake first lol. But yeah, it would be pretty cool if you'd find a new favourite! The feeling of finding one is incredible haha.
I definitely prefer Ergo Proxy more, but Texhnolyze has a lot to offer as well. It is also more depressing than Ergo Proxy, even though I don't think the ending is as depressing as everyone says it is. It depends on your perspective, I guess. But yeah, just don't expect everyone to live ^^;
Oh, did you drop the first season? I'm definitely planning on continuing it since it's pretty enjoyable. But not right now because I need to watch what my Santa recommends me first haha. Did you participate in the secret santa event btw?
Murai in Love is interesting. It's quick and witty and doesn't try too hard. It's animation is a slideshow basically, but it seems intentional and it's acceptable to me but I guess it could be a deal breaker for some. It did also surprised me with some plot elements and scenes. Watched it as broadcasted and I was actually waiting for episodes, so that's a pass.
