Most of my ratings are a mix of how good I think the series was with what it was trying to accomplish and enjoyment because enjoyment is very important to me if I didn't have a good time watching or reading it why would I want to experience it again or recommend it to people.

I started watching anime back in the 2000s with shows such as Dragonball, Naruto, Inuyasha, Yu-Gi-Oh, and Pokemon. Watching One Piece in the early 2010s is what made me really get into anime and manga more
Hello. I just completed reading Toriko & I may have to recommend reading it over watching it. However, I do suggest seeing the 2 Toriko movies as a way to get you intrigued in it. The anime adaptation is not the worst thing I've seen but I'm not satisfied with the final product. The 2011 anime contains changes from the source material and it's animation starts to fall apart in the last 30 or so episodes. There's censorship & the tone isn't as brutal as the manga. Having said that, the anime strengths are its nature scenes & moments that aren't action oriented. It excels in creating atmosphere & the spirit of adventure but has highs and lows when it comes to fight scenes. A lot of the early episodes have smoother animation than its later ones. The Gourmet Beasts are also a treat to see in animation more so when it comes to their unique sound design via roars and growls. The manga is pretty lengthy but super creative. The better scan quality are the ones from Viz's so you may have to use the Shonen Jump App. Toriko has a lot of strong points about halfway through the series. Stuff gets crazier but after a certain point it becomes very dense with lore & Toriko & Komatsu get the most spotlight out of the other main characters. It's not as tragic as Fist Of The North Star but it does have a few dramatic moments. Toriko as a manga is like a mix of Hokuto, Kinnikuman & One Piece due to its manliness, animals, crazy abilities and designs including environments. Toriko's depiction of Planet Earth is incredible & the fights are filled with gritty testosterone. Towards the end, the series develops a horror tone with it's final enemy, Neo. The art is beautifully detailed and super elaborate. The manga feels big & lives up as a great work of imagination.
Yeah I have Vol 10, too. I'm waiting for Vol 11 to come in stock. From this point onward we'll be getting FOTNS 2 material. These particular chapters have been available in low quality for the longest time. So I really want to see them in the latest better format. Raoh left an everlasting impact from that point on & it was never replicated.
Raoh becoming a favorite definitely happened to me. I'm also up to date with the VIZ English releases. If you want someone similar to Raoh, I'd recommend watching the 2020 adaptation of Dragon Quest: The Adventure Of Dai. The villain Hadlar has some stunning changes throughout his appearances in the story. That character took me by complete surprise, especially when he achieved manliness.
Treasure Island barely got a U.S. release via bluray that's sub only. I've seen about 3 or 4 adaptations of Treasure Island and I think the anime is the best one due to being 26 eps instead of a movie. I still haven't reviewed the original Cobra anime but it definitely has that jazz ost that's great. Visuals are cool tool since it was directed by Osamu Dezaki. The other Cobra anime from the late 2000's don't have the same music vibe but the episodes are still good to watch.
Hey, that's cool to hear! Lupin Zero is really short and you could watch that any time without finishing previous Lupin parts. Have you looked into the Space Adventure Cobra anime series? It has mini arcs like Gintama but it's mostly an episodic format. I need to finish City Hunter at some point. More so when bluray footage is higher quality than the ADV Films DVD rips I saw back then. Lupin Part 2 & Part 3 can get really crazy at times.
I've only seen 52 episodes so far. Those apparently I heard everyone absolutely hated it in the early episodes? I enjoyed it from episodes 1, when you started loving it?
