Pretty much the same idea but is a comedy whereas YJSSK is more serious
report Recommended by animeno
Similar type of useless main character who shines in the most useless of ways. Semi-harem type. But on top of everything they have the same kind of humor and ways of executing the humor.
report Recommended by yanmzry
They're both comedies that make fun of an overused topic (card battles and zombies). And they both have a male character that is used in a female role.
report Recommended by hav
Very similar feel and humour. Aki from BakaTest and Kousaku from Nourin are spitting images of each other in personality! Nourin is smuttier though ...
report Recommended by Allografter
Having a crazy school life? Well... it can't possibly be as crazy as the lives of any of the students in either one of these Anime. That's part of the charm of these anime.
report Recommended by Yemi_Hikari
The comedy between these two are amazingly similar. As soon as i started Danshi Koukousei no Nichijou i immiedeitly thought of Baka to Test. If you like one be sure to check out the other.
report Recommended by Bashful-Dastard
Who would think that you could get a serious Anime from either story lines, but somehow the people who came up with the idea for both made it work. There is humor built into the story line too and it is very enjoyable despite the corniness.
report Recommended by Yemi_Hikari
Hilarious and funny moments, also both are about a class which contains loser students.
report Recommended by Sawada_10
Both have the same setting and moods, not to mention the same type of story telling. Or at least in the sense that at first it seems like they have the same type of objective but then end up doing nothing with it through out the story. The characters and comedy within the story are different but they'll both give you a good laugh, and are different from the rest in the sense that they know where to hit on your funny bone to make you giggle or cry laughing.
report Recommended by SovietPsycho
Although the plot is different, the setting is same, i.e. school. The character designs are also somewhat similar. The biggest similarity is the comedy style; I got a Bakatest feeling from D-Frag. There are great characters, and plus, it's a fun series. If you watch one, high chances are that you will love the other.
report Recommended by TragicRomance
These series have the same brand of humor behind them. If you like gay jokes, cheerful school settings, and light romance, both of these series fit the bill. They're both on Netflix too.
report Recommended by silasw
Both are probably the most random anime I've ever seen. Great school slice of life comedy, though Baka to Test has some supernatural elements.
report Recommended by Samu-tan
There both tremendously funny. Both have similar characteristics, such as: the protagonist is an idiot, girls tend to fall in love with these idiots, both have crude humor.
report Recommended by mytimewasted
They have a similar brand of humor, and they both pull it off well. The characters are parodies of common character archetypes.
report Recommended by Caeca
If you found the one hillarious you will find the other too. They have the same houmor and the main characters are both dense and they keep geting beaten up by the girls. While they have different plots they give you the same feeling. Also both of them have fanservice.
report Recommended by goton51
Similar artistic style (cartoonish, textures, stylish effects, simple vectors, bright colors), similar comedy and both are about an average guy with a bunch of friends that have crazy antics with him at school or other various places. Both are harem-style and have lots of girls and fanservice.
report Recommended by Mayuka
The main setting for both Anime is a school. There are interactive avatars, more prevalent in one Anime then in the other. The main character is looked down upon in the real world because they happen to not have any ability that allows them to succeed in the real world, but once they get to the "game" they end up being important in some regard.
report Recommended by Yemi_Hikari
They both involve a school system using a sort of summoned beast in combat. They both have several similarities in genre: action and romantic comedy.
report Recommended by Nanodesu
They both have a group of kids in an exaggerated school setting (one school in the afterlife and one school that has students battle). They're both comedies and both have some romance in them as well. Angel Beats is a little softer on the romance and comedy, and more emotional and deep as well. It really pulls you into the story. Baka to Test on the other-hand is a slapstick comedy that will have you laughing to yourself twenty minutes after you've finished watching an episode. The romance is balanced in well so that you end up loving many of the characters to boot.
report Recommended by bloodless08
Both series revolve around a battle game that features chibi characters of the players. Random humour and similar character designs for the main characters.
report Recommended by lzumi-chan
Both protagonist have extremely annoying screechy voices when they overreact. So if you like to torture yourself (Darn, you masochists..) Go check it out..
report Recommended by DangoSadge
Battles between classes. The best is Class S (Maji de) and Class A (Baka). The worst class is Class F.
report Recommended by lzumi-chan
Main Protagonist is idiot in both anime because of that both anime is good comedy, romantic and harem in a good way.
report Recommended by hunterking
Both shows have similar style of animation and character design (especially main girls characters are similar by appearance). Both of them can be considered like parody on school life with ecchi moments. They have similar kind of humor and in both is also cute male cross-dresser.
report Recommended by mcdvojka
Main characters are very similar. They act weak and get pushed around by women that like them. There is also some cross dressing and random humor.
report Recommended by animejnkie
Well, gintama is random and parody on several animes and Baka test is random and a parody on several animes too and they are both funny, (in other ways though)! Gintama is sometimes a bit more serious than this one, but that's the only difference. I recommend both of them!
report Recommended by Ungirl
Both focus mainly on being very funny (in which they both succeed) instead of having an outstanding amazing plot, but in both there still is a small plot. The jokes aren't especially similair (seitokai has a lot of sexual jokes but it isn't ecchi, nor incredibly immature and baka has all kind of jokes) but if you enjoy either you'll probably enjoy the other.
report Recommended by MaracaTu
Same anime studio Characters that are dealing with bad luck
report Recommended by LoneWolf1028
School life, and love triangle. And I couldn't help but notice the similarities between characters: Mizuki relate to Mashiro in that they are both really talented. Minami relate to Nanami, they feel in love with the main guy. Akihisa relate to Sorata, they want to protect (take care) of the talented girl. Shouko and Yuiji, childhood friend in love (Jin and Misaki in sakurasou) The differ in the fact that baka to test is funnier
report Recommended by aleximn
Both shows are high school comedies where quality of school life is determined through battles. In Baka and Test, the battles are between avatars whose power level depends on how well students do on tests while in Mikagura, the battles are between club representatives.
report Recommended by GridironOtaku
Both are hilarious school life animes with romantic comedy involved. Toradora is more serious during some critical situations, but is still light hearted most of the time. If you like comedy, don't miss out on either of these shows!
report Recommended by Dashiawia
Similar humor, both are random and funny :D, both have a touch of shonen ai between the main characters, similar art.
report Recommended by luiszsx
- The two main male characters have a similar relation, which is often funny. - The main character is in a love triangle. - Both Animes are just hilarious. - Both animes are related to games somehow. I would say "Gamers!" is a fusion between Baka to Test and Toradora! but obviously, its own essence that differentiates from both animes. It's a very very good anime and I mean it! Especially its last episode (Episode 6) made me laugh I lot, and I'm not an easy laugh guy. I am liking it so much, give it a try! Thanks for reading!
report Recommended by Kuroroo
Both Anime uses quiz-style battle except without the epic battle in baka to test... Yeah Same Genre... its like Baka to Test without steroids...
report Recommended by Nyanchan053
Baka to Test and no game no life both have the same kind of animation, and both have something to do with strategy to become the best while being the ones at the bottom in baka to test its class F and no game no life its the humans, they both have players who fight their way to the top with games and both are really funny comedies that also have a little of perverted stuff.
report Recommended by Bunnybunbun17
Both animes share the same humor. Both are about school, a perverted main character with perverted friends. Both includes nosebleeds. Both have tsunderes who hits the MC/other males for the slightest thing (perverted stuffs mostly).
report Recommended by Kryki
The male leads are both perverts, there's a love triangle, the art is similar and if you watch this you'd know what I mean Hentai Ouji to Warawanai Neko reminded me of baka and test instantly.
report Recommended by Bunnybunbun17
They very much remind me of each other, not because their humor is very similar but because they have the same way of spitting at klichés. They both deviate from what is "classic" anime comedy, and both does so brilliantly.
report Recommended by Volbla
Crazy randomness, awesome battle scenes, romance (?), cute trap character, and more crazy randomness.
report Recommended by HyperBunnyofDOOM
ever thought there exists another anime with the (rolling on the floor laughing comedy) + incredible feels + characters that are funnier than the jokes XD + Romance instead of the battle theme in gintama ? it does :D .
report Recommended by arenraizelus
It's similar in the sense of the character attitudes and mannerisms, even though the plot is completely different.
report Recommended by Procify
Both Anime have a similar premise, for the sake of academics they battle each other Both have MC's who are paired with smarter characters
report Recommended by HeyyPord
Both anime are slapstick comedies with a touch of ecchi. To make it short, if you enjoyed light anime such as B Gata H Kei, you'll mostly probably like Bake to Test to Shoukanjuu as well, and vice versa.
report Recommended by Wilio
Both have the stupid main character trope, while baka to test goes to a much better side, please watch to see !!! :)
report Recommended by marrro90123
Same art style, different genres.
report Recommended by baltar
Both are extremely funny, with the protagonist getting caught in the most ridiculous situations possible
report Recommended by Furo6448
Both titles are set in High School with a large main cast of characters. Both shows deal with students in high school that go through random and crazy events that happen in their lives while trying their best to deal with school. While Baka and Test are set in a less traditional high school setting compare to Azumanga Daioh, they both have great and wonderful characters. Both are hilarious to watch. If you enjoyed one, you will enjoy the other.
report Recommended by Hellspawn28
These are both nonsensical comedies with magic elements in them. Although plot and characters are widely different, they are both genuinely funny at times and are sure to turn that frown upside down from episode to episode it will have you rolling.
report Recommended by TheZarrox
Although Show By Rock is about music and Baka to Test is about school they both involve the characters having transformations into cute animal like creatures to perform their acts (where SBR is them performing music and BTT is them doing things academically). Both are silly and cute shows that are easy to watch also.
report Recommended by wonwoo
Baka to Test is about summoning beings and Cardcaptor Sakura is about summoning cards and controlling what their master wishes
report Recommended by TomoAkiChan
Both deal with alot of comedy Both have game battles dealing with mini chibi character versions of themselves Main characters are Male with unique personalities In general if you like Baka Test you can probably feel the resemblance in Etotama
report Recommended by Genesisis
Both MCs are lucky idiots who have a romance triangleish romance, however the gag plots are what takes center stage over progressing the romantic plot, it's more of a set-up for further jokes. Baka to Test is one my favourite anime and I haven't commited to watching any anime for years now but Urusei Yatsura has been fun and refreshing with the saturation in anime industry of super serious shows.
report Recommended by Chronologically
Has a school hierarchy that everyone has to play up to or suffer the consequences. Differences being; - Kakegurui is revolved around gambling - Baka and Test revolves around having good grades to increase a person's social standing. However Baka and Test is far more of a comedy.
report Recommended by BrotherBerzerk
When I first heard about Inou Battle, I was told it was like another anime. But watching the characters reminded me more of Baka and Test. Both shows feature a love triangle in which a flat chested, tsundere girl and an air-headed girl with a decent-sized (Inou Battle) or massive (Baka and Test) chest pine over the main character, who acts like an idiot in one and is an idiot in the other. Both shows also feature some form of supernatural combat.
report Recommended by RobHarli
On the surface, not a lot of people will see the similarities. The premise for each are completely different. But one simple truth connects the two. If your looking for a high school anime with tons of high school antics, laughs and even some action thrown in, none could be better than these two anime. If you like one, I'm sure you'll like the other.
report Recommended by RobHarli
- Best friends roast each other - Some Ecchi and chaotic scenes - Love comedy - Likable protagonist
report Recommended by Gynandromorph
The similarities in comedy points and jokes are uncanny. Both involve many jokes of being jealous and misunderstanding when interact with their love interest. Although Machine-Doll wa Kizutsukanai have rather lewder jokes while Baka to Test jokes are a lot more tame. In addition both anime have the same main voice cast for the characters interaction, made it felt similar vibe. If you love watching this kind of comedy, definitely recommend these two anime
report Recommended by OofieOofer
Both are hilarious animes that have a lot of references to other pieces. Also find that the characters are quite similar: Hina and Minami are both Tsundere Hayate and Akihisa are both dense as lead Segawa and Aiko are both teasers Also both shows like to put their main protagonist into questionable outfits.
report Recommended by Ushiki
many similar types of humor and comic relief are used throughout Id say baka to test is better But this is a nice lowkey alternative
report Recommended by Conraddoyle
Analogy-wise, Baka to Test is like the comedy-version of Gundam Iron-Blooded Orphans. Mikazuki and Orga are pretty much like Akihisa and Yuuji. Mikazuki fights for Orga, as Orga does the strategy as the leader of Tekkadan. Thus reflects pretty much the same way as how Akihisa follows Yuuji, who also claimed and does the strategy for class-F. Then we have Kudelia, who is the action-moe counterpart of Himeji; and Atra, who fits well as Minami's counterpart. Both Kudelia and Atra likes/loves Mikazuki, in the same suki-manner as Himeji and Minami does to Akihisa.
report Recommended by GiancarloLS
similarities *MC is oblivious of love *both make full use of the character traits to make you laugh *similar type of humor .
report Recommended by TheGeniusBaka
Both animes are extremely funny. They are both animes about high school life. However, Sakamoto desu ga? is the complete opposite of Baka & Test in the sense that Sakamoto, the protagonist in Sakamot desu ga? is basically the perfect ace student of the school, so perfect that his actions create extremely comical and over-the-top scenes. Whereas the protagonists in Baka & Test are the most idiotic and stupid people in their entire grade, so stupid that their actions create extremely comical and over-the-top scenes.
report Recommended by MicasLenny
Even though settings and overall plot are very different, they both have a similar feeling of random comedy, which in both cases works and it's very funny. If you liked one you will probably enjoy the other as well. Both recommended.
report Recommended by killgrave
Both of these anime have sort of a magical, fantasy type of element that mixes in the romance/super power genre smoothly. Well recommended if you’re into that type of thing.
report Recommended by albertbrown
This anime follows a group of high school girls who form a band together. The show is full of cute and funny moments, and the characters have great chemistry and a lot of heart.
report Recommended by FAKECROSS97
Both shows deal with underdog teams competing against prestigious factions in various games to regain power, and also has a similar comedic atmosphere.
report Recommended by iMoogle
Both are hilarious comedies that involve classmates battling against each other and misunderstandings surrounding love triangles between the cast. If both series don't have you in hysterics than I don't know what will.
report Recommended by Akoram
If you liked the perverted humor in Baka and Test you'll get more of this here. A lot more in fact. Much less focused on actual story, homever if you don't take it too seriously you might just find it incredibly enjoyable.
report Recommended by Werty800
Both about students competing. Same good feel when watching!
report Recommended by HimekoYui
The artwork. also similar to zetsubou sensei. You have messages on the background (blackboard, chip bags, etc.), actual photos mixed in. Manga like tones are added, background charactes are left faceless.
report Recommended by joegonzalez722
If you enjoyed the ridiculous and hilarious comedy of this show then you would love handa-kun, then if you enjoyed this show make sure to check out season 2 of handa-kun it’s called barakamon still as hilarious just focuses a bit more on slice of life, loved it and both seasons are one of my favorite comedies
report Recommended by ToolulaMALx
Both Akihisa Yoshii and Usagi Tsukino have a Low Score on a Test. So I was Hoping for a Crossover with Some Other Anime and Some Cartoons in it.
report Recommended by MangaJacobL
Both of the protagonists are very naive and stupid with multiple people fighting for their affections. They have similar comedy styles, with BTS being a bit dirtier. Both take place in a type of alternate reality where things happen that cannot in this world. If you enjoyed Fruits Basket I'm sure you will like Baka to Test.
report Recommended by GingerPocky
It seems strange, but the two have school life and a comedy different from normal. Baka to test is more focus in comedy and have more romantic progress than Kaguya, although haven't psychological battles, is a good anime. Serious is my top 5 comedies. Sorry for Google Translate.
report Recommended by msoares0079
Both revolve around exceptionally stupid people screwing up everything. Baka to Test is more an overall story while Hacka Doll is separate stories for each episode.
report Recommended by trigger_segfault
Similar random humor and direction quirks, like having text passing through the screen during scenes and showing different scribbles every time a blackboard appears, both directed by Shin Oonuma. They both also make Jojo references, though Paniponi Dash has so many references that that's only to be expected.
report Recommended by Kww_121
Both shows are fun romance comedies, both shows leads is the unpopular guy, and both shows have a girl named Minami that wears her hair in a ponytail.
report Recommended by jctdragon
If you like stupidity with splendid humor these two anime got some things in comon you will like! :) I love how the jokes are being treated like serious behaviour.
report Recommended by Liquifizer
They both involve a school separating students into rankings of sorts, and they both include action scenes and romance undertones.
report Recommended by Nanodesu
For one reason, both have the most popular traps in anime!
report Recommended by Jmac
it is also about school life but there turnover is the male is much more better than female i am not yet done finishing baka to test to shoukanjuu but their similar and also it has sam genes
report Recommended by jpconanan
Both TV series have basically the same idea - a group of outcasts (in BakaTest it is Class F, while in KoiChoko it is a "useless" club) trying to fight for their rights and make the situation better.
report Recommended by Arrvilja
Both animes have superpower There is ecchi, harem in both both their schools are weird The male character is dumb who is not aware of girls feelings for him Both animes girl like male lead one girl being his childhood friend and the other girl is strongest in school
report Recommended by Persius
Both pretty eechi. Hilarious and just at a point drama comes in. Who likes who...0_o Pretty girls perverted guy. I bet if you like baka to test to shoukanjuu you will love this anime.
report Recommended by MOLLY123
Both include the totally knows nothing about love guy. Both in a F.M.F love triangle, except told by a different gender protangist. But other parts are really different...
report Recommended by AppleEncore
Two girs one with big boobs and another with nothing. the only difference is that the main one on goshuushou-sama is stronger while the other is a idiot
report Recommended by Itamoto
it also somewhat random and has a love story but this show has some ecchi parts but it is very funny.
report Recommended by jpconanan
Ookami and BakaTest have the same brand of funny, character-driven humor and romance as well as a large cast of characters that fit the general anime stereotypes. Each series has it's own tsundere, loli, bishounen, ect.
report Recommended by kcam44
In both serials there are lots of satire on the other anime (on NGE for exaple) I laughed for a long time, honestly :)
report Recommended by JagdCrab
While KimiAru focuses on butlers and maids and BakaTest is a high school setting, I found both to have similar humor. If you found one funny, you're likely to enjoy the other. Both series have a similar length (~13 eps) with quickly developing paces. Both series also focus on social standing (the master-servant relationship in KimiAru and improving one's service skills, while the constant struggle of the idiots in Class F to be treated seriously by those in higher academic levels). Sometimes, there are parodies (BakaTest has a very funny Evangelion episode, KimiAru pokes fun at Death Note), sometimes the humor is character trait-based... But  read more

both have traps, and similar setting and comedy

Both titles become random comedy for the middle portion of the series, while having generally uninteresting "story" portions at the beginning and end. The random comedy is what makes both shows worth watching.

chibi characters and both is cute romance
report Recommended by edeuvcekey124
Even though this animes have nothing a like it just that some characters are similar like Himeji/ Kotonoha= both are super cute, shy big chested girls with a horrible cooking Minami/ Sekai= both are tomboyish, flat chested girls (who complains about it) but are good at cookings. Himeji and Minami/ Sekai and Kotonoha= are really good friends but they are both in love with the same guy. On both animes there is a pool episode. Both have ecchi. Although baka to test is more comedy and school days is more drama.
report Recommended by krynger20
school battle, sports battle, friendly battle, comedy and enjoyable, if you like all of that, maybe you can enjoy these both anime.
report Recommended by shast007
Both series has a lot of comedy in them, both has a "baka" character in them, one of the main characters has someone liking him and he/she doesn't realize it(kana&fujioka, akhisa&himeji), both has school in them, and main characters in both are living withought their parents. If you like comedy, and like one of the series, you should enjoy the other one.

Students are battling each other with their mascots to get to a higher rank. In Baka To Test it is to get a better classroom, in Selecter Infected it is to makes their wish come true.

While Clannad is considered extremely emotional by many people, I find first season to be quite hilarious. The really sad/emotional scenes are in After Story. Clannad, like Baka to test, is about school life with comedy involved. If you like comedy with a little more drama involved be sure to check out Clannad
report Recommended by Dashiawia
They both are really funny anime to watch. There isn't a big story in it, so it's easy to follow; you could watch episodes randomly because there isn't really a line in it, but there is so much comedy in both!
report Recommended by usagi2
Okay I just have to step in here to tell you that IF you are a big fan of the character Shirai Kuroko from Railgun like I am, then you MUST watch Baka to Test as there is an extremely similar character (Miharu Shimizu) that both have a yuri crush on a boyish flat-chested girl and call her "ONEE-SAMA!" Onee-sama love forever!
report Recommended by Yandere-Addict
Both have a similar sense of humour, playing around with the most common Moe patterns all the while not taking themselves seriously. Both series are short, which gives them a more dynamic feel than other lenghier titles, but do not rush, since they have to give enough time for the jokes, obscure references and bizarre character choices to sink in. Overall, both are extremelly enjoyable series.

The art and character designs in both shows are gorgeous. Perhaps this is no coincidence because the animation studio Silver Link is credited for both shows. Also each Anime has a sister with a major brother complex and their over-the-top behavior produces hilarious results.
