School life, and love triangle. And I couldn't help but notice the similarities between characters: Mizuki relate to Mashiro in that they are both really talented. Minami relate to Nanami, they feel in love with the main guy. Akihisa relate to Sorata, they want to protect (take care) of the talented girl.

The differ in the fact that baka to test is funnier
Both of them have a love triangle situation, but when it comes to love, Akihisa from baka to test to shoukanjuu is a lot more stupid than Sorata of Sakurasou no pet na kanojo. And better be prepared of what will happen every episode, it made me excited that I watched it for a whole day. :D
Misfits in a school setting and love triangle. Baka to Test has more comedy whereas Sakuraso is heavy on drama. The main characters have strikingly similar traits. While Sorata is an average guy among high achievers, Akihisa is the dumbest in a class of dumb people. Mashiro is comparable to Mizuki since they are both are highly talented. Both the male protagonists are attracted to this talent, and are strongly affected by it. Minami is comparable to Nanami since they both are attracted to the protagonist but have difficulty confessing.
