Both recent phenomenon series with very similar premises and appeal. Both involve elite human warriors trained to face supernatural beings average humans are powerless against (demons & curses).

Both MC hunt demon to become human again in Dororo it's for himself and in Kimetsu no Yaiba it's for her sister And both travel to find the demons
report Recommended by KamiFL
Both deal with supernatural evils and both fight with swords that each character has as a unique fighting style with. The set up of the warriors ranks and titles are very similar for both the good and bad sides. When watching this show my mind kept screaming Bleach (In a good way) and I think anyone who enjoyed Demon Slayer should at least give Bleach a look and vice versa.

- Both follow protagonists who lose a lot and face trauma in the first episode - Fighting demons is similar to fighting titan, both eat humans as well - Similar demon slaying corp to the military police

Both series revolve around one sibling looking out for and trying to heal another sibling of an ailment. Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood is a full adaptation of the original manga series. It is set in a fictional, European inspired setting and revolves around the supernatural element of alchemy. Kimetsu no Yaiba/Demon Slayer is set in what seems to be towards the end of the meiji period of Japan where technology is being steadily introduced, though I may be wrong, and is about a young man who is trying to save his sister while following the path of a demon slayer.
report Recommended by VHaruV
Both main characters are kind, sensitive, intelligent and with their own little quirks. Super power and a super sensitive nose. Both Tanjiro and Midoryia have a trainer (Urokodaki and All Might), they go through lots of hardships in early year, but have decent development and become stronger.

I'm guessing people have made this comparison before but Muzan really reminds me of Meruem for some reason, mostly aesthetically but also Muruem when freshly hatched even seems similar personality wise. The dedication and intense training it takes to become both a Hunter and a Demon Slayer is similar. Although in HxH they're not demons they also face a lot of inhuman enemies.

Kimetsu no Yaiba reminded me of Inu Yasha, both shows center on our male lead and involve demon slaying. The setting is historical Japan, and the characters are very fleshed out, even the demons get some of their own backstories. If you've seen Inu Yasha and would like a similar experience, Kimetsu no Yaiba is a fantastically animated shounen with it's very lovable characters and bits of comedy throughout.

Both feature young characters who train themselves to their upmost limits to join the elite ranks of those who battle demons (the demon slayers in KnY and the exorcists in AnE).

Very Similar first episodes Both main characters are fighting to turn someone 'back into a human.' Shounen Humans fighting demons/vampires

Ghouls and Demons fighting against humanity. Some of them are able to affect people and become demi-humans. Or so called - half human half demon/ghoul. Main character goes through traumatic incidents which changes his life. Both MC's are naive, into crying and having their perfect world which is soon broken and changed by the reality. Some good fights, action, soundtracks and animation.

Both shows are high intensity battle/action Shonen anime. Both begin with tragedies to our main character's family. Both shows have demons and demonic/evil themes and characters.

Both have human turned monsters, and they eat humans. Both have have organization specialize in killing them Both main chars' family/loved one are killed by monsters, thus making them to join the organization Both main characters travel around wherever the missions lead them

In both: -Women are badass. -The protagonist have a serene and compressive personality. -The protagonist cares about villains feels. -The villains was transformed against their will. -Special organization of "hunters" vs Group of villains transformed directly by the leader. -The leader of the villains is an elusive entity that mixes in society. -Special oraginization mechanic: uniforms, heal point/base, minios to help hunters, only two military ranges DGM (Exorcist and General) KnY (Hunter and Pillar)

Chainsaw Man is a much superior version of Demon Slayer with a little bit worse animation. The story and characters are way more interesting. The main cast in both series are monster slayers and the gore is plentiful in both.

Both shows are very different from each other, but also both of them are really solid shounen series that are greatly inspired by traditional East Asian themes and culture. Said elements play an important role in each show's worldbuilding.

You saw this recommendation coming right? MC and Tanjiro share the same eye color/art style. They're both surprising mature and quick to learn. You can see character development really early on. As for generic storyline similarities: Main character discovers a world beyond humans and has to learn how to deal with them. Major theme is friendship and also trying to decipher what is considered human. Great pacing and story line. High potential. Somehow it seems like a spinoff, but both series are not related.
report Recommended by Kaguyachinchin
Honestly, the only two similarities between these two anime are the fact that they have vivid, ravishing, elegant animation to their stories at play, and I'd like to think that said animation greatly enhances everything in these two anime, from more impactful storytelling and conveying of feels. Otherwise, there isn't a lot more to go on about. The two stories are there for those looking for action with passion built into the very veins of these shows. One side is the Japanese way, with the other the Chinese way. Good historical works and representations too.

Both contain dramatic stories of supernatural creatures which the protagonist meets. For "Kimetsu no Yaiba" these are stories of people who lost their lives and became demons that try to compensate their regrets from the lifetime. Tanjirou is helping them just by understanding them and treating like humans. In "Natsume Yuujinchou" the protagonist solves problems of many youkai, the most common issue of whose is loneliness caused by inability to communicate with people.

I have seen just another person recommend Nanatsu no Taizai and I think it's unfair because their both great animes. Very similar indeed, both being about some knights/slayers hunting demons and wanting to save their loved ones. The MCs are kinda relatable to each other, both being small, friendly, OP when needed characters.

I enjoyed both of these series significantly. While Vinland Saga has countless differences from Demon Slayer, including genre (historical), violence level (far more violent than Demon Slayer), and protagonist personalities, one will likely enjoy both as: - both are shonen (to my knowledge) - both protagonists are talented in combat - both are motivated by their family relationships in the main plot. In Demon Slayer, the protagonist is motivated to save/work with his sister despite her inhuman nature, and Vinland Saga was born out of the protagonist's desire for revenge for his father. - There are quite a few combat scenes in both. - Both are newer shows, so they  read more

These animes both have supernatural interactions and fun stories. Tanjiro and Hanako are both trying to beat the evil side even though their both afraid of doing it so. Tsukasa and Muzan both created a source of evil in a violent way. These two animes have a lot in common which is why I think their a good match up.

Demon Slayer and FMA have similar character roles and fights against demons but the atmosphere isn’t the same. After the death or disappearance of their entire family, the main characters (Tanjirou/Edward) share similar goals, to search for a way to return the body of their younger sibling (Nezuko/Alphonse) to normal. (Tanjirou/Edward) fight side by side with their younger sibling (Nezuko/Alphonse) and the bond they share is admired by others such as (Mitsuri/Armstrong) not to mention (Giyuu/Roy) the person who lead the way for them to be what they are in the story(military alchemist/demon slayer) also share some characteristics like being cold but considerate and protective  read more

Sirius and Demon Slayer have a similar premise. A boy seeks to avenge the slaughtering of his family by supernatural creatures. Sirius is set in the interwar period while Demon Slayer is set in the Meiiji period. Yuliy (Sirius) and Tanjirou (Demon Slayer) joins an organization to help them in their quest for vengeance. Yuliy is naturally powerful because of his innate abilities whereas Tanjirou developed his skills through training and combat. Your level of enjoyment for each series will likely parallel the production value of the series.

Both series share a dark oriental mystical setting; Moribito being in a ancient Asian inspired territory and Kimetsu set in 19th century Japan. They both follow a character acting as a guardian for a child they share a deep bond with. They're both adventure fantasies with some really awesome action and magic, though Moribito's action scenes are more realistic; mostly focusing on weapons based martial arts whereas as Kimetsu uses a mixture of martial arts and magic.

Demons and Titans have one thing in common! They eat humans to survive or for bloodlust! Kimetsu no Yaiba, they have Demon Corps to slay all the demons to protect humanity! Attack on Titan has three divisions. Military, Garrison, and Scouts. These three divisions have different goals in their nation. One is to fortify the walls, One is to guard the community and one is to slay demons.

A career demon killer teams up with a demon to - what else? - kill demons and save their sibling. It's not an original plot, but both shows manage to make it their own by building interesting and unique settings - both (roughly) set in the 1920's, in Taisho-era Japan and the Jazz Age United States. There's a definite emphasis on action, but the shows don't back down from leaning into both the comedy and tragedy aspects of the genre when needed. The MC in both anime are hunting demons/vampires with a katana. The feeling is different though. Blood+ is oldstyle and more dramatic. Vampires don't have feelings and only kill, so they have to be killed, while in KnY, the demons do and the MC can feel their emotional past/state.

Both feature demons and show their own interpretations of demon society. Blood lad is a lot more lighthearted although both shows depict similar ideas of supernatural demonic entities. Both have great humour although Demon Slayer/KnY's is used more sparingly.

One of the things which drew me to making this recommendation is the similarity in styles, but they also involve the subject of demons, although the takes differ except for one thing, that demons are a form of corruption. There is also a search for a cure going on, albeit who is cursed and who is searching for the curse differs slightly as well. The characters from both series are quite diverse in personality types, and the action is riveting.

These two animes are very similar in ways. First of all they both feature demons as enemies. But Hataraku Maou-sama! is more of an isekai anime?. Kimetsu no Yaiba has "Demon Slayers.'' as you can tell they slay/kill demons. And about Hataraku Maou-sama! cant really explain the anime because its.. complicated.. just watch it if you want! It also has a season 2 airing right now!

If one were to read the Sengoku Youko reviews, you would find many comparisons to Demon Slayer. Both shows are about humans fighting monsters/demons in historical Japan. There is also a male and female sibling duo at the forefront of the story in both. The animation of Demon Slayer is obviously better, as it has some of if not the best anime animation as of writing, but both shows are visually pleasing with colourful character design. I recommend this to anyone who likes human vs monster eye candy like Jujutsu Kaisen and Demon Slayer especially.

Honour, teamwork, and growing stronger to help others at its best. Demon Slayer is a classic tale of good versus evil told through great characters, awesome music, and vibrant animation. Goku is an influential protagonist and his spirit lives inside our boy Tanjiro who will never give up finding a way to turn his sister back into a human. Both shows have accessible plots that will keep you asking what will happen next.

The Fire Hunter and Demon Slayer at face value are dissimilar shows. However, in terms of how they are made, they are foils to each other. Demon Slayer's chief criticism is its shallow writing in spite of its superb animation. The vice versa is true for the Fire Hunter. A viewer watching both can have a very clear experience on what a show that has one but not the other would feel like. It may aid in answering a common question: "Which do you prefer: a show with good visuals but bad writing? Or a show with good writing but bad visuals?"

While at a glance, the two seem to be entirely different genres, both anime share similar themes of afterlife and memory loss.
