Anime was a passive part of my life growing up, with shows like Pokemon, Dragonball series, Yu Yu Hakusho, Yu-Gi-Oh, and other Tsunami/Adult swim era shows. I really became an invested weeb when I became older and found out there were anime and manga coming out by the dozens every season, and that anime came in all kinds of genres. I think the turning point for me was after finishing Hunter X Hunter, and what got me invested into season-to-season anime watching was Princess Jellyfish.
I've always been a long time fan of horror manga, mostly just Junji Ito because he reminded me of H.P. Lovecraft, my favorite author since I was 12. I'm now trying to get more into manga as well. I'm a proud owner of an itasha (painful car/anime car) and I collect anime diecuts, box slaps, and decals in general.

Btw, from dark writers, do you only like Lovecraft? I really like a friend of Lovecraft named Clark Ashton Smith. In fact, my 'location' in MAL is a fictional city that I took from one of his books.
I also like Poe, a classic in the genre although Lovecraft and Smith are my favorites.
I also like Lovecraft and the horror mangas.
I've noticed that you have Mushishi among your favorites. It is a great series. I want to watch Lain one day.
