Toki wo Kakeru Shoujo

Both focus on similar themes of time travel, exploring the Butterfly effect caused by the actions of the main characters in the series, and share the same buildup of consequences, from light-hearted developments to drastically affecting the lives of their friends. 

Reworks ideology of time travel, people mess with it and gets screwed as a result.  

Both Animes deal with Time Traveling and its consequences. Both shows try to portrait how one battles against this idea of FATE using the methods of Time Traveling. Both shows have concepts dealing with Tragedy, romance, and comedy and are both masterfully done.  

Both revolve around the theme of time travelling and the consequences of it. On the backdrop they both have a slowly developing romance between the main characters.  

About time-travelling and its consequences. Stein's Gate is more focused on the science fiction aspect of time-travelling, while Toki wo Kakeru Shoujo is more about using time-travelling as a device of telling us an important life lesson. 

Steins;Gate and Toki wo Kakeru Shoujo deal with a very similar concept of misuse of a tool that manipulates time and distorts the future. They both are character based in that the main character is the bond that will ultimately carry you to finishing them and both of these anime contain elements of suspense and comedy with a dash of romance. If you are a fan of any sort of science fiction element involving time travel or likable characters then this entry will certainly satisfy you. 

These two anime have two main points in common: - they are about time travels - there is a romantic relationship that grows between two characters separated by time-distance Moreover, there is a general common feeling about the stories and the various characters. Both anime are very very captivating and of the highest level: personally I highly recommend to watch both! ^^ 

Both stories have a main character who uses time travel for his/her own convenience and ends up dealing with the consequences attached to it. They both also contain a character who has come from the future with a mission to save the future but end up enjoying the past to the extent of it hindering their mission. Towards the endings, the true romantic nature of the animes are revealed as well. 

- female play with the time -TOKI-. - guy play with the time -STEINS-. -Ofc is not just the same, i mean S;G 26 ep, Toki movie, but the feling is the same. -After a cupple of events the plot will become darker and the protagonist will start a race to beat the time itself. -time waits no one- 

Lots of time travel and drama with a little romance thrown in as well. Both start off a little slow and get more dramatic and intense as they go. Steins;Gate focuses more on how the time travel works while The Girl Who Leapt Through Time focuses more on it's effects on the world around the person. 

Both anime display how playing with time, cause and effect has disastrous consequences. Both display strong lead female characters and light-hearted relationships. 

Both focus on drama and love in their second half. Both's theme is time travel. The protagonist suddenly gets a power which heshe still not quite used to. At first the charcters use it for fun and entertainment but eventually they reveal the true cost of this power. 

Both animes deal with time travel and the main characters are trying to change the past. Both shows have serious moments mixed with a little bit of comedy and romance. Toki wo Kakeru Shoujo can be more shoujo oriented, while Steins;Gate is more thriller, but if you liked one you definitely should try the other. 

Time traveling sounds really cool, now doesn't it? You can go through time and change your decisions. But is that really all there is too it? These are two really great entries which explores this factor and what can actually happen if you timetravel too carefree, they also have some romance at the side. 

For those individuals that adored Steins;Gate,and have not watch,The Girl Who Leapt Through Time,you my friend are missing a gem in your anime movie collection.This is because both of this anime and movie revolves around the concept of time travel that I truly admire.Both of them are so enjoyable that it's hard to find a dull moment(unless you hate the concept of time travel,of course). And if you haven't watch Steins;Gate,then watch it right now! Or if you have not watch both of them,boy,you got some serious watching to do. I hope you'll like at least one of them. These anime tackle themes of Time-Travel, and they both seem to hit this very-difficult-to-achieve theme, right on point. They both act on this recent ability to travel through time, in order to save someone who they love; albeit in Toke wo Kakeru Shoujo, its initially used to screw around, while in Steins;Gate its originally used for experimental reasons.. but I digress. 

Both anime have a time travel concept and some romance in them. They also have a similar atmosphere. 

- Travels in time provoke an evil both for the traveler, but even worse for the rest of the others, to be used only by whims, trying to change tragic facts or just things that seemed innocent. - We have a touch of romance, hidden behind that anguish that brings the trip in time, which is related to the courage it feels to see how everything is getting more and more complicated. 

both about time travel and what can happen if you change the past even slightly.. when the main character uses time travel and learns about it, it felt very similar. 

Both series focus on time travel as well as the negative side effects from being reliant on it as well too and also moments of drama in it as well too. 

Though the stories are completely different, but they both have two common things, time travel and the consequences of changing the past. Both series/movie have some elements of comedy, romance, drama and sci-fi stuffs. 

Even though these two anime are quite different, especially in how they handle romance, they have some things in common. Both involve a lot of tragedy, sacrifice, and separation, which makes it hard for the characters to be together again. They also both use time travel and have a repetitive story with events that keep happening throughout the storyteling show. 

Characters make the most of strange phenomenon to prevent tragedy, funny interactions and heartbreaking and heartwarming moments. ensue, all to backdrops of beautifully animated scenery. 

Both movies have plot developments that are similar to each other in its sci-fi/mystical elements, to which I will not say more about in fear of spoiling the story. Due to the nature of short length of the movie, both works chose to focus more on the atmosphere and characters rather than making a seamless story.  

Kimi no Na wa and Toki wo Kakeru Shoujo are both beautifully animated films, with lovable characters, interesting and fun stories, and both are thoroughly enjoyable. Both deal with themes of time and have sci-fi undertones, but are heavily centered around day-to-day life, youth, and of course, romance. Tears will be shed, laughter will be heard, and smiles will be seen during the course of watching both of these films, so please, if you have a spare couple of hours, I definitely recommend you to watch both of these films.  

Won't say much in fear of spoiling either story so all you need to know is that they are quite similar, sweet yet funny romantic films that will tug on your heart strings and leave you contemplating life for months after you watch them. Enjoy watching them for you'll never be able to watch them for the first time again. 

Characters gain supernatural powers and struggle to use it's capabilities to achieve a greater good. The structure and pacing of both stories are very similar, but The Girl Who Leapt Through Time is not a romance, it is a coming of age story. 

Very similiar themes and romantic stories. Both movies evoke similiar feelings and have similiar characters. While watching Your Name I felt like watching a sequel to A Girl Who Leapt Through Time 

Has a similar feeling of at first having a comedic, slice of life type tone with a wacky supernatural power changing the lives of our protagonists as they make use of it and adjust, but then later develops a sadder and more desperate tone. There is a beautiful but bittersweet romance, and a similar twist that occur in the later part of both movie. The directing style feels a bit similar too.

There are some time travels in both movies, but also there are funny interactions and heartbreaking and heartwarming moments. Both movies evoke similiar feelings and have similiar characters.

Both movies have similar characters, and both mc deal with supernatural events.  

The power of beyond. The Girl Who Leapt Through Time and Your Name both follow regular students having their lives changed forever with this new ability that had suddenly fallen upon them. TokiKake has Makoto gain time travel powers, Your Name follows Mitsuha and Taki's odd connection via body switches. Both are great movies with a colourful atmosphere being shown off, also sharing the same genre of romance too. 

Both have themes regarding changing an event through the use of a form of time travel. Main difference is that in The Girl who Leapt Through Time, she can control when she jumps through time whereas Your Name is completely on a set time frame for when they switch bodies. Your Name has better visuals but The Girl who Leapt Through Time is worthwhile to watch. 

Both animes are about time skip or something like that, they have funny moments, tense momets and sad moments. The vibe is similar.

Very similar in terms of tone and style. They both involve the MC gaining some kind of supernatural power, which affects how they view relationships, especially who they love. There's a bit of romance, and a bit of sadness, but nothing too intense. At the end, you might be left with a certain longing. If you watch both, you'll notice other similarities, which I won't spoil here. 

More obvious reasons would be same director, dynamic pace and art while less obvious both mix typical scfi elements with adolescent slice of life. 

Both films have the same director and art style and incorporate sci-fi themes to a modern setting. Both are brilliant, clever fun films. 

Both are great movies done by the same author and studio. Similarities include romance between the main characters and science fiction. 

Similar atmosphere and style. 

the story line is just fabulous and the animation is great. maybe the animation director is the same person, anyway these two animes excite me very much 

Same director. Story focuses on how time travel can negatively impact your surroundings, which is similar to how Summer's Wars' plot revolves around the internet being connected to the entire world and how it can impact society if in the wrong hands. 

Same director however still different, harkens back to his previous works. 

Both movies are "must watch" masterpieces! Both share similar animation and style, as well as "wide" and entertaining stories full of creativeness! Some other elements like comedy and romance also exist in both movies to add some spice! In general, the 2 movies have a lot in common and deserve such high ratings, so don't miss them!!! 

Movies that have similar art style and character design. Both movies have a light sci-fi story, with themes of family and friendship. There are also light romance development between the male and female leads. Both are directed by Mamoru Hosoda. 

Similar art styles (minus the CG in Summer Wars). Similar slow starts, but both turn into dramatic, suspenseful shows later on with some romance. 

Art styles are very similar and are made by the same producers. Very unique story and characters. A very refreshing anime to watch. 

Both films have the same atmosphere to them. The topics are light-hearted and they both involve a sci-fi theme in the modern day. They both have a slight bit of romance in them. The art style and animation are very similar.  

Broken space. With the ability to infuse both a transcendental space imposed onto a real world, some interesting outcomes come to play as with what is experienced in both Summer Wars and Tokikake. The movies follow protagonists who find themselves a gift spiralling down the path of a catastrophe as forces that they cannot truly control begin to inflict on the quality of life. Tokikake does this with Makoto's time travel power, with her learning how one must remember there is a consequence for every action. Summer Wars on the other hand is a bit more sparse in Kenji's union with Natsuki's family and how OZ is in a corrupt state, leaving him and the family to do something about such. Overall, both movies are very good sci-fi if you wish to head into movies in that genre. Whilst Tokikake has a moral of the story to it, Summer Wars is more narrative-centric orientated allowing it to just be that family movie with nothing overhanging above itself. The whole love thing reminds me of each movie. It's great. 

Both movies are amazing romance stories beetween two young people. Stories about separation, distance and leaving the one you love. In both is similar atmosphere. 

The mood in both are very similar. If you liked this, you'd love 5cm/s 

Watching 5 cm per second movie reminded me of toki wo kakeru shoujo a lot. Both are romance movies about separation of lovers. They both also have amazing artwork. 

Somewhat similar artistic direction, both incorporate thematic elements of distance and letting go of an unreachable love(5 cm/s more so). Both also exhibit melancholic tones, though TokiKake is for the most part much more light-hearted and entertaining. If you liked one, definitely give the other one a shot. 

Both are stories about love, about being young and about growing up. What is more important - they both are amazing; sweet, sad and full of feeling.  

Both comprises of slickly executed take on high school, young-teenage drama compressed down to the most bittersweet messages to the most heartwarming ones. 5 centimeter per second, or otherwise Byousoku 5 centimeter, is particularly harsh in depicting the traditional Japanese's customs of "I like you, so I can't fall in love with you" and the shy, slick tension within male-female relationships; in showing a clearly visualized state of beautifully crafted & intricate backgrounds, it really sets the mood for its various themes containing the true harshness in realistic, matured romance relationships. Toki wo Kakeru Shoujo or the Girl who leapt through time is a lot more vibrant and energetic in that it tries to bring at least some quirkiness with the main female lead. The romance develops and fades similar to 5cm per second, yet it's much less heavily emphasized. Through a supernatural confronting, the Girl who leapt through time illustrates the theme that we oftentimes only have one chance to work out a relationship correctly, though it may not be perfect. It's also beautiful, not in visuals, but with the devolvement of its initially pragmatic characters; eccentrically yet surprisingly well done character development in its short period of time. I very much recommend both of these movies for fans of romance, drama, and bittersweet yet powerfully delivered stories. Both are compelling movies in their own respective aspects, 5cm with its mouth-dropping visuals, Toki wo Shoujo with its intricately done plot. I can't say which one is more superior, and they are not necessarily sophisticated concepts which require brains to create, but both movies are delivered in such a timeless manner which makes them classical romance tales, regardless of the medium.  read more 

Neither of the anime have extremely clear nor definite endings, but are very heartwarming. 5 Centimeters mostly revolves around love and relationships while Toki wo Kakeru Shoujo shows the effects the decisions that are made can affect others. While the plots are different, the feeling in the story and the feeling the viewer gets will probably be similar.  

Both of these movies deal with slightly different topics but offer a very good and similar moral lesson which is "time waits for no one", love and separation is another subject that's tackled on that these two movies have in common. With great production values and a great plot, it's overall a great movie that you should definitely not miss out on. 

The Girl Who Leapt Through Time has pleasing visuals, relatable main characters, and is yet another story of moving on, life, and love. The boy x girl relationship is focused on and the ending is also rather bitter sweet.  

Both are magnificent romance films and incorporate intriguing tribulations encountered in maturity in a thrilling manner. Byousoku is more serious while Kakeru Shoujo contains some comedy, not to mention wacky time traveling shenanigans. Vital lessons can be learned from both. 

Whisper of the Heart, like Toki wo Kakeru Shoujo, has an easygoing, romantic feel to it. The animation style is also similar. However, their plots are vastly different. 

Both great movies about young love and being able to let go. 

Both films are heartwarming tales about teenage life, love and finiding one's self. 

The main characters have a bit similarity and both the movies make you feel calm and happy. They both are realistic and have light, intense romance. If you liked this movie you will surely love Toki Wo Kakeru Shoujo too! 

Both are heart-warming slice of life stories including romances. They're both very very good including school girls being weird and some drama and comedy. 

I couldn't stop thinking about Whisper of the Heart throughout the entire movie of Toki wo Kakeru Shoujo. Toki wo~ is not done by Miyazaki, but its still some pretty great art. The story lines and characters are not extremely similar in the two movies, but Chizuku resembles Makoto quite a bit in looks and in temperament. I think if you liked Whisper of the Heart, you will LOVE Toki wo Kakeru Shoujo.  

Both are slice of life, though The Girl Who Leapt Thru Time has much more fiction, they have similarities and I found I enjoyed them both. (Whisper of the Heart is so much more amazing in every way though). 

If you enjoyed the atmosphere and feeling of one of these animes then you’ll for sure like the other. The story itself is not similar but the romance for sure. Both show the love between two teens in a very cute and innocent way, yet describe a lot of deep problems that the main characters are going through. Very heartwarming films, not too heavy, not too superficial - just about right. 

Similar romance, similar main character who feels like a screwup and aspires to be more and is dreamy, overall very similar dreamy feel. 

Both are very good slice of life/drama movies, the same director, similar artstyle, beautiful animation both give you similar warm/touching feeling while watching 

Same Director, nice flowing feel to the movies. Colorful, dynamic scenes with likeable characters with a sense of nostalgia, and working against the odds through normal life with a small, but central supernatural element that is not overpowered and does not stand out. 

Tokikake and Wolf children are very kind, interesting, and light. After watching Tokikake/Wolf children I was very merry. Also it's the same director — Mamoru Hosoda.  

Both movies have a lighthearted background, similar animation, and has the same director Mamoru Hosoda involved. Additionally, both movie has a taste of supernatural themes. Both movies have a warm fuzzy feeling that is a pleasant experience. The main female protagonist from both series also have similar personalities. In both movies, there's also a sense of the slice-of-life feeling. 

this one was made by the same director, the same art style and youll laugh with the characters, but when thing is gonna be serious youre gonna cry, these films have phylosofical questions about the who and the what to do, youre gonna enjoy this. 

Honestly, there aren't many similarities with this movie in terms of plot, however, both movies in a board scale of things teach a lesson to us of what we as people have the power to do. The Girl Who Leapt Through Time aims to show the power of time manipulation, with the drawbacks, and positives, that it can bring upon us. Wolf Children brings forward the lesson of how the oddities of the world and their existence as the abnormal, which also bring upon negatives and positives. Both are great visual works by the same director Mamoru Hosoda, both amassing the same amount of drama and supernatural elements. read more 

Based around the concept of time travelling and what is happiness. Definitely had the same theme running through it.  

Both are about girls who gain a strange new ability that seems awesome at first but they soon learn there are great consequences. Both involve time travel where characters have to go back and redo events to save someone they care for. Both get more suspenseful towards the end. Madoka and Makoto are also very similar. They're quirky, they're a bit clumsy, but most of all, they love their friends dearly. Both have unconventional endings that leave you with questions. I can't get enough of these anime so if you loved one, you'll love the other! 

Both have elements of time travel in it and also the consequences of the choices the female lead makes as a result of said unusual power. 

Without going into too much detail, both do have a twist revolving time travel, and honestly, you should just watch it for yourself to see the beauty these two anime can bring about with such twists. With similar starting stories of getting more than you bargained for, The Girl Who Leapt Through Time and Puella Magi Madoka Magica really do understand what ascending normality in humans can cause. TokiKake basing their story on time travel, PMMM on the despair that comes in being a magical girl. Both are good anime with very interesting deep themes. Though, TokiKake is a light romance drama, whereas PMMM is a psychological anime. read more 

Similar atmosphere. The artstyles are alike too, with bright colors and breathtaking sky frames. Both involve people separated in time and time tricks :) 

Both are stories about the impermanence of love and friendship in this life, but also about the feeling that it is better to love and then lose because our memories of those time are eternal, or at least 'til we, too, pass on - both give a warm feeling of summertime and the bittersweet feelings of its passing... 

Short anime movies that feature loves that under normal situations would not even be possible if not for sci-fi or supernatural phenomenon. Toki wo Kakeru Shoujo has a sci-fi plot device while Hotarubi no Mori e relies on supernatural occurrence.  

Both have an otherworldly, fantasy element where the life of a female lead is strongly influenced by the male lead, both have similar art styles, and they each have bittersweet endings. 

Similar plot, dramatic relationship between both hero and heroine.. both have stunning graphic and beautiful scenery 

The storyline and the argument is more or less the same: young person suddenly can travel in time and mess up heavily. 'Toki wo..' feels a bit more fresh even being older and has better characters, but 'Uchiage Hanabi..' can be a good anime to watch if you need more of this. Also art is wonderful. 

Similar plot device for time travel, small little sphere object, both have stunning visuals, although the art seems more original for toki wo kakeru shoujo because Uchiage Hanabi, Shita kara Miru ka? Yoko kara Miru ka? is super similar to the monogatari series, even for the studio being the same, the main characters are almost the exact same of the monogatari series. The Girl Who Leapt Through time did much better at executing the time travel and romance aspect, the romance between Nazuna and Norimichi basically consists of them falling in love in literally 1 day, and the romance between makoto and chiaki is very wholesome, they've known one another longer and makoto tries to deny chiaki and uses time travel for that, meanwhile norimichi uses it to keep trying to be with nazuna. Overall though the resemblance is there, however, the Girl Who Leap Through time is far better. read more 

Both deals with time traveling with a bit of romance mixed in. Both deals with the consequences of time travel. 

If you enjoyed Toki wo Kakeru Shoujo, you will likely enjoy Nerawareta Gakuen. Both stories deal with difficult concepts like personal connection and love and use time travel as a plot device to drive the story. Both stories contain average characters, who have difficulty understanding others let alone themselves. As far as visuals and audio, both contain beautiful visuals, heartfelt musical scores, and feature a wonderful cast of voice actors. 

•both have a time traveling sense •both are situated in schools and every day life, with the typical genres falling into place, comedy, romance etc. •both animation are individually spectacular and have their own uniqueness about it •both plots are absolutely different in a sense of 'flow' Toki wo..... is just brilliant within its confinements of story progression, where as Nerawareta just jumps from one topic to the next without any explanation whatsoever, it has alot of plot holes without being explained and you probably have to watch it twice just to understand alot of shit. •they are both similar with a character with time traveling purposes, also the genres. but to be frank i continued watching Nerawareta for its beautiful animation. you might like one if you like the other, but theres a big diff in the storyline/plot holes. read more 

Both deal with time travel and have gorgeous art. Both are brilliant for so many reasons. And both will make you laugh and cry. 

Mystery and Time travel was highly involved in the two movies which makes it similar in such a way that both deals with the importance of one's self presence. 

Both movies apart from dealing with time travel have a good number of plot twists that will make you ask what has just happened there. Although The Disappearance is a sequel that I'd not recommend to watch standalone. 

In both movies, the protagonists are teenagers who repeat their youthful days over and over again in order to achieve better result of their activities in life. If you like or want to taste more time travel stories, then these movies are for you. 

The concept of time and repeating things are a major point in both shows, as well as a romantic subplot between the main characters. 

The protagonists are given a mysterious power that allows them to repeat a portion of their life which is used for their own selfish desires. In the end though, they learn a very important and powerful lesson. Both shows even have a nice romance on the side! Though, Tatami Galaxy has a more unique style (both in the artstyle and execution of plot) while The Girl Who Leapt Through time is a bit more traditional. Also, Tatami is a bit more of a fun watch compared to TGWLTT which is a bit more serious throughout. Nevertheless, if you felt an intense amount of satisfaction after completing one of these series, the other will be able to provide you with the same amount, as long as you don't have a strong preference in the style of an anime.  read more 

Both share similar art style. You'll definitely like the unique atmosphere of these movies. They both have romantic storyline set in the background of supernatural events. 

The friendship between the 3 main characters in this reminded me of the girl who leapt through time, obviously the place promised is much more serious. 

A wonderful coming of age series for fans who enjoy watching movies on weekends; both of these two movies are good examples of such. Both of these movies have a great touching, compelling story that can be understood and be related in many people's views. With a well crafted plot, the feelings of both of these movies are also quite similar. There's also that surreal atmosphere mixed in with comedy, drama, and romance.  

These are both movies hinging around a main female lead using fantasy elements to alter their life experiences. Both movies also contain very similar-feeling romance plots, and the main characters feel similarly tomboyish. I get the same vibe from both of these movies, and highly recommend anyone who enjoyed A Whisker Away to watch The Girl Who Leapt Through Time.  

Young and dumb. Both A Whisker Away and The Girl Who Leapt Through Time follows a young lady who proceeds with taking actions without noticing the great consequences that result in doing these unnatural actions. Whisker Away does this with Muge having the power to turn into a cat, TokiKake does this with Makoto jumping through time. Both Muge and Makoto also go through understanding the mistake they have made in trying to escape the reality directly in front of them. Both are good romance anime movies with touches for drama too. Done mostly around a school environment.  

Both involve the idea of time travel, close friends in high school and a touching romance. I adored both plots lines and it always made you think can you change the past?  

Twist nature to your way. The Girl Who Leapt Through Time and Orange both follow protagonists who use time travel to change what once will be. Though TokiKake is based upon Makoto's use of this power for her own life, Orange follows the group of Naho and her friends in saving fellow student Kakeru from his untimely death. Both are really good anime with equal amounts of romance and drama in both of them. 

Both tell about time traveling and the purpose of it is to make up some mistake in present time to avoid some horrible event. Even though TGWLTT is about daily life and Erase about some criminal event in the past. 

From the future, I can help. Erased and The Girl Who Leapt Through Time both follow a protagonist who gains time travel abilities, in which, they use those abilities to help those close to them. Though TokiKake's Makoto uses this power for her own accord, she later begins to use it for the wellbeings of her friends and people around her. Erased, around the same path, has Satoru miraculously go back to 1988, where he must save his friends from the serial killer, and find out their identity. Both are good anime with TokiKake being a light romance about how time travel can cause consequences, Erased being an unsettling murder mystery of school kids. read more 

Time travel. Time travel can be utilised in a magnitude of ways. Protagonists Makoto and Subaru are the same in that with this new time travel power that is suddenly received, naturally, the two use this ability to try to take out mistakes from the past so it can no longer exist in the future. TokiKake's Makoto uses her powers for her own convenience in the little things that happen in her life, while Subaru uses his compelled power to change the horror that awakens before him. Both also learn to suffer the consequences of these powers too, one does so indirectly by effectively lying to themself, the other with a multitude of awful pitiful deaths. Both are good anime about the consequences of the power that can break through the natural order, with TokiKake being a light romance, Re:Zero is an unshining psychological anime. read more 

Time. The Girl Who Leapt Through Time and Mirai both follow individuals who go through the power of time. Through this, these MCs understand how their selfish wants aren't don't give the best outcome to a particular situation. TokiKake follows energetic Makoto through a series of time leaps to make sure things go her way. Mirai follows a covetous Kun trying to understand his sister and his family through time travel. Both are good anime movies about how a naive MC ends up learning from some fantastical force. Both also have the same director Mamoru Hosoda.  

Life doesn't go your way from time to time. And while some people understand that, others loathe this with every bone in their body. The Girl Who Leapt Through Time and Clannad follow each other well in telling a story about how experiences, namely, that of love, can change those views in a person forevermore. TokiKake's Makoto has time travelling abilities that enable her to jump through times in order to create this world of everything she wishes to be. Clannad's Tomoya wastes his life until his fateful encounter with Nagisa, having nothing better he helps her with her goals. Both are good romance anime which tell a story of the reality around you, may not be as bad as it seems to be. read more 

Ordinary school life of the main characters and time traveling, both very interesting. 

"Kabukimonogatari" and "Toki wo Kakeru Shoujo" are both about time travelling. Koyomi saved Mayoi with Shinobu's help but transformed the future world; Makoto used her ability of time travelling to change some trifles but hurt her friends. We can see the butterfly effect brought by time travelling in the two anime. 

I agree with the original recomender on this one. The two have a very similar air about them and chances are if you like one you will probably enjoy the other. 

Love what you had. The Girl Who Leapt Through Time and Angel Beats! both follow students who hate what they have at first, and when given the power to try to change this life, they attempt so. TokiKake is about Makoto's time travel powers used only to her convenience. AB is about Yuri and the SSS's revenge against God and Angel. These characters, however, go through a magnitude of events which bring them to understand slightly more about the life that once was. Both are good romance anime with the misunderstood ironically ending up teaching the protagonists about what is good in life. 

- Both of the mc's time travel without having any knowledge about it. - They are both talking someone from the past not knowing that theyre from the past. - They both have very deppressing theme which i like a lot.  

both are romanced themed stories as well as both sharing sci fi elements in it and also nice to look at art and character designs.

I felt as if Kiki's Delivery Service and The Girl Who Leapt Through Time both shared a character that underwent the same kind of reconfiguration from start to finish. Kiki and Makoto are slightly naive about how things operate, and without going into too many spoilers, they both end up sharing the same fate in some way. Both are great anime movies with slight touches of romance, though TokiKake follows a sci-fi route in comparison to a magic route followed in Delivery Service.  

I'm sure, that there are far better recommendations for Kakeru Shoujo, but still, Ef does share some similar appearances. Both Animes, have got a very deep touch that moves one very easily (at least I found both very unique and maybe even a bit "philosophical" in their own way), and perhaps even lets one or two tears shed. Ef has got a more intensive romance aspect, then Kakeru Shoujo, but somehow they both explain how precious time and life is. Ef gives a feeling like "I'm so happy, that I'm fine." (applied on the amnesia), where as Kakeru Shoujo more shouts for "I wish I could time travel!", though even that one would question after watching the movie. Of course Art and music is nothing to compare, but both Animes are superior in that aspect. To be honest, there's not so much they do share, especially in the storyline. But definitely they've got that special and unique feeling one searches for in each anime. read more
