I've been watching anime since arund early 2011, when a chance meeting with famous American anime personality Scott Spaziani got me into the genre. I traveled to Japan in 2014 to study abroad, and my adoration for the field of anime to take me back to those wonderful days has remained strong.
While I lost access to my old account, I hope to continue to provide anime insights and to comment on my favorite shows.
When I review anime, I don't judge it by comparing it to other anime; rather I judge it based on how well it lives up to the goal it is trying to achieve.
I usually rate anime anywhere from a 6-8, with 5 and below for things that are particularly bad, and 9 and above for things that are excellent. A holistic rating means one that takes every facet of the show into account, rather than rating each facet individually (e.g. animation, sound, story, characters). Bad stories can have great animeation, and excellent stories may be crudely animated or drawn. It is all about understanding what the anime is trying to achieve and reviewing it based on those standards.
9s are reserved for anime I consider some of the best in their category or genre. 10s are rare and reserved for a transcendental piece of work. It may not have the best animation, graphics, story, what have you. It is an instinctual score, and when I'm watching a 10, I know.
While my old account was heavily trafficked, I lost the password for it, regrettably, so I am here with this new account. Hopefully, if you have somehow found this page, that you enjoy your time here.
