A group of friends, living out there youth having fun, and falling in love. Although Horimiya is noticeably darker then Nijiiro Days.

In these shoujos, the girl and the guy both have very different appearances and personalities in school or public places than they do at home or in private and they get to know each other in both settings by accident. So they share a secret side of themselves with each other that others don't know about.
reportRecommended by inzaratha
They remind me of the other mostly because the characters are slow to realize their feelings for the other. It's somewhat slow-paced, but not in a bad way. The girls are both quite desirable among the boys in their high schools, while the men of both manga are socially awkward.
reportRecommended by lostinlalaland
Both Horimiya and Kaguya-sama are rom-com that touch topics very mature for a shonen-like manga. In both mangas are a really good cast of characters that are very differents but get along well. Also there are several chapters dedicated just to deepen in the characters' past and how they become the person they are.

Fate connects two main characters unexpectedly in both series. Bonnouji and Horimiya may seem like your average slice of life series but has some creative ways around it when it comes to storytelling. The main male protagonist has similar personalities as well as being the typical Average Joe. His encounter with the main female protagonist highlights many experiences in both series. And as given comedy goes, both series retains a lighthearted tone with clever timing with its humorous moments. Recommended for fans of slice of life with realism.

Both are about a boy and a girl who have a fake personality in front of others/school. Both are really sweet.

Both series are known for their slice of life elements and slow pace in storytelling. Despite this, they also have a colorful cast of characters and romance that develops subtly over the course of the story. Both series also adapts relationships of different nature that are explored. And with these relationships, we can see a good amount of characterization focused on the main protagonists. Recommended for fans of lighthearted drama.

3D Kanojo and Hormiya are like your everyday drama stories with realism, humor, and even bits of romance. They explore youth in a school life setting as well as situations that many people may experience in real life. Until of course, the main female protagonist meet a guy that really brings out the best from them. The relationship connections of both series are developed well and in general, we see their progress each chapter. Both series also deals with certain social affairs with a clever way of storytelling.

They both give you a warm, fuzzy feeling. The characters are so lovable. The couples are so cute.

They both have characters that hide their identiy in one way, like in this manga is the guy who has an alternative side They both have as a protagonists an unlikely pair They both are really funny manga to read One famliy member of one of the protagonists in both mangas shipps the paring And in both mangas one is a popular kid and the other one is the quite kid

Both center on the relationship between two high schoolers who share a connection they hide from those around them. Both have very realistic, relatable characters/plots, and very like-able protagonists. While Sasaki is in many ways polar opposites with Miyamura, both have similar journeys when it comes to realizing their feelings. Both stories have colorful supporting cast, although Horimiya expands on side characters much more than Sasaki to Miyano. They're sweet, they're funny, they're stunning. If you like one, give the other a look.

Both show the daily life of highschool students and the connection with friends and lovers! :)

Taking on a ordinary story with a slice of lie tone, Horimiya and Taiyou no Ie displays a sense of innocence with its story and characters. Relationship dynamics became a key focus although the pacing remains slow. The main male protagonists from both series also have similar personalities. And on top of that, expect some romance that blooms as their story progresses with a charming elegance.

looking from the outside they aren't simmilar at all, but when you actually read them you start to notice that they have a lot in common. First of all both have that exciting and sweet atmosphere and it's really addicting so you just can't stop reading them. Secondly they have interesting, outstanding and sometimes even crazy in their own way characters and I think that it's because of them that the storyline doesn't seems so cliche. Besides, their art is beautiful, especially Horimiya which has my 2nd favourite art. PS: another good thing is that their storylines is more about their lives and not that  read more

The setup of both Kare Kano and Horimiya are similar: a boy and a girl who act one way at school, and lead very different (and far richer) lives outside of it. There are personality similarities between the mains as well: a somewhat high-strung female and a calmer, more emotionally collected male. Both series are humorous but display a level of emotional sensitivity when dealing with relationships.

Both series are romantic comedies with rough, "violent" girls and a quieter, "gentler" guy. The main couples in both series each have secrets they do not want revealed to others and they will sometimes go to ridiculous (hilarious) lengths to keep them. In both of these series, the main couples get together fairly quickly and the series revolves around the development of their relationships (and those of their friends) afterwards. If you want a nice romance with a slice-of-life feel and comedy all around, then I would recommend both of them.

Despite Horimiya being categorised as a shounen title, it is strongly typified by shoujo elements such as those in Kimi ni Todoke.

Both series combines elements of slice of life and romance to fuse together a story of youth. The main male character from both series can easily be misunderstood. However through the relationship with the main female character, we see who they are really like. There is romance development in both series that is charming and elegant. Comedy remains genuinely charming that also contains realism. The supporting characters in both series also play a variety of roles to craft something to remember by.
reportRecommended by Stark700
Both series revolve around the main character and their friends' daily lives. With comedy and the youth of teenagers. Bother series are also web series (RELIFE is a web series and Horimiya was based off one) If you liked the art style for RELIFE, Horimiya definitely won't disappoint.

*Both are a great romance comedy manga. *Both female MCs act strong and have high leads throughout the story. *Both male MCs have their flaws, they aren't really similar, they're unique in their own ways. *despite Dump Perfect(names too long) still ongoing, both series have some part which properly executes the 2MCs relationship more deeply but not in a somewhat forced or rushed way.

Houkago- A romance consisting of two characters, each with sides that contradicts outer appearances, with the boy enjoying a job at an antique, older-styled cafe while being unapproachable and often cold during school and a girl who seems to be a normal girl at first, but is actually a passionate fan of older-styled retro cafe. Following the story with a lighthearted tone, Horimiya and Yasashii Sekai no Tsukurikata are realistic series about relationships. The main male protagonist has similar personalities and builds meaningful relationships with other characters. Along the way, they also find a bit of romance. There is considerable amount of realism with character interactions and realism. Relationships are also slow paced with purpose.

The romance feels similiar. Horimiya is all highschool based while Yamada-kun to Lv999 isn't.

Ever imagine what it would be like if Nisekoi wasn't a harem filled with misunderstandings? Do you like romantic progression in a story? Have you wondered what would happen if Raku wasn't so clueless and became a nonchalant male lead? Well if you've thought about any of these while reading Nisekoi, Horimiya is right for you. Both series are episodic and the comedy is very similar. However, the romance is portrayed very differently.

If you've read any bit of honey at all, Onise is kinda like miyamura. onise is suppose to be a bad guy by turns out he's not. Well in a kinda similar way miyamura kun is known as the good guy but has like a bad guy look under the disguise. I think it's similar! I definitely think so I love them both.

The story is set in high school, and also a romance slice of life manga with humour, drama and funny moments. Both manga have multiple characters with depth and attention without distracting reader on the main couple. The art style in Blue Box is much more distinctively expressive drawn style to shoujo genre, while Horimiya art style tried to resemble more to the original web comic strip without being too all familiar to other generic manga art style.

If you enjoy Horimiya(i know you do) then you will also enjoy Takane to Hana, because they both are hilarious and has romance. The characters are not very similar but nevertheless they are very interesting and unique.

Main character are female that are very hard-working. They both have lots of duties after school. For example Misaki has to do a part-time maid job, while Hori has to take care of her brother. The females are also popular somewhat. They aren't masochist at the most. The male characters are just bodacious. Both male characters find their secret about their duties/jobs after school. Two character driven slice-of-life stories with hilarious expressions. The "chibi" artstyle that appears in some panels are really similar. Tsurezurebiyori focusses less on romance and more on the daily life of the characters, but there is romance nonetheless

These don't exactly have the most similar stories, but I feel like the characters are kinda similar. They are both adorable and funny! Miyamura and Fuji both have long hair. (Even though Miyamura cuts his) Hori and Sengoku both are strong women. The art in these mangas are very alike, and I know if you enjoy this anime, you will enjoy Mizutama Honey Boy!

Just like how in "Horimiya", Hori and Miyamura are complete opposite of each other but still date same is the case in "Soushi Souai" In"Horimiya", Hori and Miyamura's friend circle played a huge role, in "Soushi Souai" Megumi and Wakamatsu has a similar friend circle. I think while reading "Soushi Souai" y'all will remember "Horimya".

The opening is very much like Horimiya yes, with the perfect girl (Hori/Kashiwagi) and the not-so-popular guy (Miyamura/Yuuto). Tonari no Kashiwagi-san features the 2 officially becoming a couple at a much later time than say Horimiya, but both do involve the 2 growing to become more familiar with one another.

The similarity between Bacouple and Horimiya is not awkward and complicated romance between the protagonists and in their "different" reactions. As it has few chapters (only 12) it's a quick and fun read about an idiot couple.

Good romance

While the two are inherently different (Horimiya is a school romance, while Tonikawa is a marriage romance), they are similar in the fact that there is no huge drama (both are lighthearted), and the romance is very wholesome and heartwarming.

Not similar regarding dungeons/fantasy, but if you want a good laugh and some wholesome content then Horimiya is for you. Both share the same kind of humour and will leave you with a smile on your face.
reportRecommended by Average-Ghost
Very similar male MCs alongside both relationships feeling slightly unorthodox. Hananoi-kun has a lot less humor but explores each character's weaknesses and strengths in relationships way better than Horimiya. Its as if the story put more points into introspectiveness instead of aggressive/forwardness. While Horimiya has characters that are generally only positively aligned aside from Miyamura, Hananoi-kun does a good job at having characters that have done bad/regrettable things and try to move past them. Another way to see it is Horimiya does extremely well with its side character dynamics, while Hananoi-kun does extremely well with its main character dynamic.
reportRecommended by Ritinal
There's a great chemistry between the two main couples. The comedic undertone in each is great and both mangas don't have any triangles or rivals trying to butt in. Their friends are supportive and develop at least a semblance of romance as well. Furare Girl does have ecchi in a couple chapters, but it doesn't hinder the story.

The dynamics between the characters are similar. They're both humorous, while Raise does become a bit darker as it focuses on gangs. They both are school stories, although Horimiya definitely focuses on school aspects more. Horimiya and Raise wa Tanin ga Ii have masochistic characters; Kirishima in Raise and Hori in Horimiya. The female leads in both manga aren't bland characters, and tend to have atypical characteristics; Yoshino from Raise isn't ridiculously strong, but can defend herself, and Hori from Horimiya becomes a different person when she's at home. The male leads also aren't typical, and become polar opposites of how they seem at first.

Horimiya, focusing more on its romance and comedy, all the while developing its characters, is very similar to my favorite manga of all time, Fruits Basket. Now I'm sure there are much better manga than this one, but it was a series that came to me during hard times. In fact, I had never felt lonelier in my life, but Fruits Basket cured me of depression with its relatable characters and fantastic development. The plots are different, but to me they seem very similar. For one, the guy is judged by how he looks (Leo looks scary in Beast Master, Miyamura looks like... a.... shady otaku with glasses?) but turn out to be completely different then expected (Leo turns out to be an animal-loving cutie and Miyamura turns out to be an awesome little spaz with earrings and tattoos... I love these characters~) And the girl quickly befriends the boy and the romance commences!!! If you like one, you'll like the other.

Both are refreshing modern romance stories that touch on realistic expectations about first loves and high school relationships. Both subvert shoujo stereotypes and clichés that make for very funny and heart-warming stories. Character design is similar as well (quieter dark-haired boy and upbeat light-haired girl). Character development is stronger in Horimiya, even with its supporting characters. Mairimashita, Senpai has a more sensual tone.

They both give off the same feeling, like, the two main characters don't have too much conflict and are honest with each other (sometimes). -the guys are hiding their true self, but are actually popular if they show themselves, and it happens to be the girl that accepts them for it. In Usolily, En is a cross dresser at school, and hinata accepts him for being a cross dresser. In Horimiya, miyamura is seen as gloomy and depressing at school, but hori accepts his gloomy self and they form a connection. -art is similar

Pastel is Horimiya with more ecchi and a little bit of harem. Mugi, the mc of Pastel, has lots of other girls liking him but he stays with the Yuu (female mc) throughout the story, just like Miyamura did with Hori. The first half of pastel is more romance-heavy, specifically until the male and female MC got together. But after that, it becomes more comedic/slice of life, just like Horimiya. Pastel tells lots of story and character building of Mugi and Yuu's friends, just like Miyamura and Hori's gangs. I think that Horimiya has better comedy contents but Pastel has better slice-of-lifey contents. Pastel creates this warm-nostalgic feeling,  read more

Not a 4-koma, and the art style is very different, but it is similar in its story. Both are a cute romance story about main characters and friends experiencing the developpement of relationships, from the first few steps to meeting the parents, etc. The main couple is also kind of a weird pairing at the start. Horimiya's main female lead is more bossy than ojojojo's, and is not a tsundere. the main male lead is a bit mysterious at first, but opens up pretty quickly compared to ojojojo's. Horimiya and Namida Usagi both start out with a girl and her classmates judging a boy because of his appearance and social awkwardness. As the female protagonist gets to know the male protagonist her opinion of him begins to change and they become close friends. Then there are hints of romance... The art and the story in Namida Usagi are not as polished as that of Hormiya, but the characters are interesting, and there is enough to make you want to read the next chapter. Both series feature relationships with intrinsically intriguing/mysterious male characters who are outside the social norm. I would say the tone and relationship tension are very similar, despite one being slice of life and one being supernatural. If you enjoy one, odds are you'll enjoy the other.

Though, the genres may be somewhat different, as one is supernatural in one way or another and the other not so, both mangas present a refreshingly adorable relationship between the two main characters. But those that look for a simple slice-of-life with a bit of supernatural, may come to like this.

Most of what reminds me of the other is how the main character's love interest gets along with the family. ...Or maybe the main character's family in general. Both families have their own way of doing things which freaks out the love interest. Within the romantic plot, both are slow, sweet, and not only circled around the main couple but also pulls in elements of other love stories, school life, and relationships with friends. Because of their alternating POV, both series appeal to both a shounen and shoujo audience. The story also involves two parties getting closer to each other because of a secret that they have to keep. Although Shishunki Bitter Change involves the male and female lead switching bodies, the supernatural element is almost negligible and is centered on school life and family like Horimiya. The main characters get along with each other but tend to argue from time to time.

Horimiya and Inu x Boku SS are both shounen manga that center on romance and are told from a haeroine's point of view - typically shoujo themes. Neither story is told with the usual shoujo episode, character, and plot formulas. Both stories focus on romance happening in the midst of the main character's lives rather than dominating their life. Neither story reads as a romantic daydream. Neither hero is a flawless feminine ideal, either. Inu x Boku SS is supernatural while Horimiya is School Life, but both are a good read if you want to experience a departure from your typical shounen or your typical shoujo.
