Horimiya and Inu x Boku SS are both shounen manga that center on romance and are told from a haeroine's point of view - typically shoujo themes. Neither story is told with the usual shoujo episode, character, and plot formulas. Both stories focus on romance happening in the midst of the main character's lives rather than dominating their life. Neither story reads as a romantic daydream. Neither hero is a flawless feminine ideal, either.
Inu x Boku SS is supernatural while Horimiya is School Life, but both are a good read if you want to experience a departure from your typical shounen or your typical shoujo.
