Both series combines elements of slice of life and romance to fuse together a story of youth. The main male character from both series can easily be misunderstood. However through the relationship with the main female character, we see who they are really like. There is romance development in both series that is charming and elegant. Comedy remains genuinely charming that also contains realism. The supporting characters in both series also play a variety of roles to craft something to remember by.
The only difference is that:
1. The main guy in Horimiya is not intelligent. But you'll find similarity between Haru (Tonari no Kaibutsu-kun) and Miyamura such as being stubborn and quite airhead when it comes to things related to gender. Both smiles the same way when they are talking with their love interest (not sure how to call the girl MCs). Lastly, both are outcasts at the past.
2. Both girl MCs - Shizuku and Hori are also intelligent. Though, Shizuku is apathetic which is opposite to our helpful Hori.
3. Same level of comedy (at least, for me). But Tonari no Kaibutsu-kun focuses more

Tonari no Kaibutsu-kun, also known as My Little Monster, follows Shizuku, the school's top student, and Haru, the school's delinquent, as they develop feelings and grow to love each other. My Little Monster and Horimiya share many similarities. Both stories have likable and memorable characters, and both mangas are high school romance stories that will warm your heart. Tonari no Kaibutsu-kun is an amazing shoujo manga that is a must-read for those that enjoyed Horimiya.
