I'll give you a recommendation as well! when I first saw your favorites, they absolutely gave me a feeling you'd love Nana for your focus on character-based drama and realism! It is definitely one of my favorite shows of all time, and the way it is written is downright masterful. The anime is 47 episodes and does a stupendous job leaving nothing out of the story from the original manga, but due to this, it only covers about a fifth of the manga. The manga is rather fast moving though, many insanely important developments happen every chapter so it's a thrilling ride! I'd recommend watching the anime first though because the music from it is amazing, and I imagined the songs from it when I moved onto the manga x) Also I felt like the manga kind of skimmed over the beginning a little to move onto the story and the anime feels weirdly more fleshed out in those parts. Of course, Nana's already on your plan to watch, and I didn't know if you wanted me to give you something truly unique or not, so I have a backup! xD

Princess Tutu is another one that I think is also very character based. But instead of dealing with realism, it's almost the stark opposite, taking place in a surreal, dream-like fantasy world. I absolutely love how it uses surrealism and fantasy elements to push the emotions and metaphorical themes of the show even more, but does so in a way that doesn't feel pretentious like psychological anime tend to be with thousands of paragraphs and lofty senses to read- It's straightforward and just an enjoyable experience! Kind of like Ping Pong in that way!
