The anime actions, the crazyness that you dont understand but makes you wanna watch it anyway.

Same feel, both have extreme non-sense action scenes, dirty humor and stylized art. The Protagonist are similar, Retro reminds Panty and Pandy reminds Stocking.

Same director , similar crazy style, full of dirty jokes and action-packed, in both main characters are fighting against some kind of opression - in DL it's the prison daily life, in KLK it's totalitarian school

Both of these animes just have plain crazy-messed up storylines, but delivered in a nicely comedic package with lots of uncalled for violence. Enjoy! =)

Over-the-top action, mostly unexplainable knowledge of technology when it's really needed, and characters that are instantly lovable (Kamina from TTGL, and Retro from DL).

Though settings, drawings and intentions are completely different both movies match in some ways: they're colourfull, noisy, mindfucking and completely out of the ordinary.

Both are action-based shows with lot of randomness, pretty similar art style and twisted character designs. The plot development pattern is also very alike - a constant action scenes following into each other with main characters having little idea of what's actually going on. The main difference is that Dead Leaves is more rough in terms of action and humour and also is shorter, so while Hells Angels sometimes takes a break to reveal some story (and even moral), Dead Leaves just throws it all at once and then suddenly ends.

Both anime are very fast paced, sci-fi themed and comedic. They resemble in style, too.

Both share the same director, have bright poppy art, high energy animation, wacky characters and both feature interplanetary authorities and criminals.

Both shows have a similar kinetic style of animation. Whereas "Redline" is directed and storyboarded by Takeshi Koike with some key animation by Hiroyuki Imaishi, "Dead Leaves" is directed by Imaishi with some key animation by Koike. Although Dead Leaves is shorter than Redline, both shows are not plot-centric, putting the main focus on the spectacular visuals. However, the premises of the two shows are not related.

Both share an edgy and stylish animation, artstyle and also visuals too as well as a spunky female lead and also lots of gory action in it as well too.

It's in the same genre of awkwardness though not as fast paced. It has it's disturbing moments as well so those who like either of these should definitely check out the other.

Birth is pretty much Dead Leaves of the 80s in that it's intended to be non-stop, creative, fun and stylish action. Considered irredeemably terrible by many 80s anime fans, it's one of the most underrated OVAs of all time.
report Recommended by busterbeam
Over the top action,Stylish visuals,Frentic pacing,Flashy characters and similar animation style as well too.

They both go for completely over the top insane action. Dead Leaves has 100% action and is never boring even for a minute. Needless has a lot of fanservice but too many dull parts and lame attempts at story telling and a lot of DBZ-type stuff where two guys talk about their power levels for hours before fighting. They're both good though.

Ultraviolence in technicolour. Gratuitous and indulgent. Devilman for more of the ultraviolence. Dead Leaves for more of the technicolour.

- Similar fast-paced comedy - In both English dubs you can tell the VA have a lot of say with how they're translating the humor - Pretty out there with the ecchi jokes
report Recommended by cornonacob
They both have crazy plots.

Two stranges animes, with humour/violence. A chara design very differents but with great animations works. One with a delirious prison story, the second with a delirious TV reality show >_<".

The director of Dead Leaves (Hiroyuki Imaishi) directed the first episode of Re: Cutey Honey and it shows, even in the two episodes made without his involvement. The action in both shows is fast paced, humourous, very colourful and involves lots of exaggerated movement. Both shows also have a lot of sexual humour, though Cutey Honey is more cheesy and fanservice-oriented whereas Dead Leaves tries to be crude and disgusting.
report Recommended by Noontide
Both are fast-paced and rather crazy story-wise. The animation is also similar.

These two anime have fast paced energy and have a surreal feel to them. Both these anime are wild, silly, and can be rather promiscuous at times. These two anime have enough moments to make go "WTF?!" at times. You'll love both of these two anime if you enjoy surreal random type of anime.

Both are OVAs, and both are REALLY fu**ed up. But differences matter in WTF moments. Puni Puni Poemy has many WTF moments in which you have to watch the series to find out the explanation to these moments, while Dead Leaves itself is a WTF moment in the form of an hour-long OVA. Puni Puni Poemy has heavy sexual content, while Dead Leaves has really gory content, so its heavy content is a way to connect them.

Both short, insane and stylish animes. They both have a cool feel about them.

Probably makes just as much sense. You understood Dead Leaves when you weren't high? One step up yourself with 'Welcome to Irabu's Office'.

Both are a fast paced frentic action stories with a striking edgy artstyle and lots of chaos happening at anytime.

It might be just me, but Dead Leaves feels kinda like a more adult Soul Eater to me. The art styles are kinda similar and Retro and Soul have similar personalities. The vibe is also similar, and there’s a lot of action and comedy in both anime. Soul Eater’s not as strange as Dead Leaves, but I think both anime are somewhat similar, so check them out!

- Wacky characters, animation and story - Surreal Sci-Fi - Battles that dont always end well for characters
report Recommended by Kareblis
Both are over-the-top, hyperactive, comedy anime where the outcome to each problem is what you expect the least. Both Dead Leaves and Inferno Cop focus on high-speed jokes, leaving you little room to catch your breath between them.

Aside from the fact that both of these anime’s titles begin with the letter D, Dead Leaves and Dorohedoro are pretty similar anime. Both anime have a similar tone, with the cast of both anime being very…strange characters. The storylines are kinda similar, with Pandy and Retro in Dead Leaves and Kaiman in Dorohedoro both not knowing who they are, and decide to search for answers. Both are pretty gory as well. I find Dorohedoro to be better, but both are worth taking a look at for sure.

Dead Leaves is a crazy ride with bright flashing colors and eccentric characters. Digital Juice feels like a weird trip with outlandish visuals and offbeat stories. These two pieces of media are both bizarre and a bit uncanny. I find them intriguing and unique. I think the idea and the overall mood are more important than the storyline when it comes to these anime. The visuals play an essential role in this. Little worlds are created through stylized and one of a kind animation. Especially the episode Table and Fisherman in Digital Juice has a very similar energy to Dead Leaves. In this episode, a  read more

Both movies contain a frantic, cartoony style with R rated violence and sex. Both movies are super fast paced about a pair of people on the run fighting the authorities who chase after them who are conducting secret evil genetic experiments. The characters designs are random eccentric amalgamations of things that only vaguely resemble humans.

Oval x Over has some serious Dead Leaves vibes. While watching Oval x Over, Dead Leaves is the first that pops out in your mind. While the story itself is different, both have lot of action and the most important thing - the animation. The animation in Dead Leaves is really special, and Oval x Over has pretty much the same style of animation. They were also made by the same director. So if you liked Dead Leaves, check out Oval x Over.

Masterpieces of animation involving crime and rebellion.

Both shows are all about non-stop action when a lot of stuff is going on and a little is explained. Also, though they look pretty different, the art is kinda grotesque in either of them.
report Recommended by RustyNailz
Off-beat sci-fi with unique art and character design, you can't get more than a few episodes into Deca-Dence without being transported back to Production I.G.'s bizarro sleeper hit, Dead Leaves.

Want a taste of non-stop action and over-the-top chaos? Try one or both of these classic anime movies! The ridiculousness of either movie is non-stop till the credits roll, as the main characters engage in some of the weirder fights and battles seen in the anime medium. Project A-ko is more on the meta side of the equation, as it references/parodies various other classic anime made in years prior to its release. Meanwhile, Dead Leaves looks and acts out like something one might expect to see on Cartoon Network's Adult Swim instead of a typical anime block in Japan.

-Dead Leaves and Nanbaka contains a small cast of unique and zany characters. -Both shows revolve around being sent to and busting out of heavily guarded prisons. -Both are very comedic.

Same design, similar story (where people owns other strange bodies)

Over-the-top comedy is abound in both works, as well as over-the-top animation. They're both pretty short (To Be Hero is a collection of 11-minute episodes). Both Dead Leaves and To Be Hero like to bring up plot points and bombastically get rid of them within a blink of an eye. To Be Hero, however, is approximately 3 times the length of Dead Leaves in terms of both of their overall run times, so if you're worried that you may get burnt out on the excessive speed and crudeness of Dead Leaves, To Be Hero might leave you a little drained by the end of it.

Extremely over the top and same type of brightful and colourful animation.
