Both shows have a similar kinetic style of animation. Whereas "Redline" is directed and storyboarded by Takeshi Koike with some key animation by Hiroyuki Imaishi, "Dead Leaves" is directed by Imaishi with some key animation by Koike. Although Dead Leaves is shorter than Redline, both shows are not plot-centric, putting the main focus on the spectacular visuals. However, the premises of the two shows are not related.
Super crazy, fast-paced movies in a futuristic setting where humans and aliens coexist. Both have very similar high-contrast artwork, also both have scenes of reckless driving with gunfights.

I think that redline is probably one of the single most exhilarating experiences that you can have watching anime, the anime has a stunning amount of energy that is replicated in few other titles. For me one of those titles that manages to give me a similar sense of energy and creativity is dead leaves. So if you are looking for a bombastic experience with a digestible runtime, checkout dead leaves.
