Thanks for participating in my group's minimalist list design contest! Please have your design ready on your list before midnight tonight US Pacific time (a little under 24 hours from now).
Both your lists are set to private, so they are not eligible. They must be made public and present a list within the rules by the deadline tonight or they won't be included.
All entrants must keep this in mind before voting begins:
The member's vote is not a user popularity contest, its to see what designs club members like best overall. Don't rally your friends to come vote for only you and friend-stack the contest. If I see proof of this, then you and your friends will all be banned from the group and future contests. Its ok to ask your friends to vote for the person they like best.
The votes of suspicious accounts (like ones made that day with no anime/manga and whose only post is a vote in this contest) won't be counted and may be requested for investigation by staff, keep in mind if they catch people using multiple accounts to cheat in contests you can be banned from MAL. If a post seems suspicious, I'll point it out, so it will be clear who didn't get counted.
People will be displayed in the voting thread in the order that they registered.
If you have complaints about cheating or unfair play, you can report to me on my profile during the contest time.
Okay, so I finished Hana a little while ago. I loved it for the most part...it had the usual stunning visuals, and the music was fantastic. Kanbaru's own personal problems hit pretty close to home for me, so it got me emotionally, as well. I also liked that there was relatively little fanservice and it never went overboard, which I've been wary of since Nise. There were some parts in the middle where things dragged a bit, though. Just gotta bear with some slightly repetitious dialogue.
Overall, I'd say the delay was worth the wait for the apparent polish SHAFT put into it. The animation is a return to form after Nisekoi and Mekaku City Actors were a bit undercooked and lazy in that regard.
Sure thing! I'm going to bed soon (I work overnights), but I've got the Commie release downloaded, so I'll probably watch the rest in the next day or two. The whole -Monogatari franchise is probably my favorite series overall, so I might be a tad biased.
Other than Ginko and Natsume being able to see supernatural creatures other people cannot (mushi and youkai, respectively), there's really no similarity at all, IMO. Ginko is a professional who makes his trade by resolving mushi-related issues; Natsume is just a weird kid in the eyes of people who know nothing about youkai, which is practically everyone. Mushi are also extremely varied and alien in their nature and appearances, and they often have effects that are readily observable even by normals. While plenty are unaware of mushi completely, most of the characters Ginko run into will accept their existence eventually. The youkai in NY, by comparison, are mostly goofy, garden variety takes on traditional spirits from Japanese folklore. Their presence is a lot easier to deny or ignore than the mushi. Finally, Mushishi has almost no recurring characters, with Ginko stumbling into new clientele every episode, while NY looks like it develops a strong supporting cast over time. Really, night and day.
So far, I'm loving Terror in Resonance. I still stand by the 10 rating. I think some of the moe bits with Lisa in the last few episodes feel tacked on, and that Five's textbook cartoon villainy distort the sense of realistic immersion somewhat, but these are very minor complaints. Unless the plot goes completely off the rails, which I don't see happening, this could reach classic status soon. I'm hearing lots of Death Note comparisons...I haven't watched seen the series, but I know the story, and both have the detective/criminal cat-and-mouse element...yeah.
aww, that's too bad, I don't know what to tell you there. Mushishi is not action-heavy...at all...but it's certainly very pretty and definitely worth your time.
What do you think of Natsume Yuujinchou? I've sat on the first cour for almost a year it seems like and still have two to go. All the following seasons are downloaded and ready...I enjoy it very much...but for some reason, I have to be in the right mood to put it on because each episode manages to hit me in the feels way too hard. I'm so emotionally drained by the time the ED starts, and that just *kills* me.
The Slice of Life Club will be hosting a Cute Competition for the next seven weeks. It's pretty much going to be the same thing as our Moe Competition, except for the fact that characters from overly popular series weren't allowed in the contest (since they always win). It's time to give other cute girls a chance to shine. There are four different groups with 32 girls in each group. One girl from each group will go on as a finalist to face off against each other in two championship rounds. Our winner and finalists will get a special card edition in their honor and a spot on the club's layout.

As you can see, we have quite the long lineup of girls for our first round. Half of them will be eliminated after this round, though, so please vote to help us decide who stays and who goes!
P.S. Due to the club having so many members, we aren't able to send out newsletters to all of our members. If you would like to receive newsletters from the Slice of Life Club, post here.
Our newsletters include notifications on when our competition rounds start, club event information, information on our monthly banner contest (new feature starting in September), news about updates and changes to the club, etc.
P.S.S We are in need of active card makers!
We do a few monthly editions and we really need some more card makers to help out with those. If you are interested in applying, click here.
Yeah, I agree, she is pretty cute, although Touka can get aggressive with Kaneki at times. And she is pretty scary at times, seeing her torturing Kaneki at the end of the first episode.
What would you do if Rize was real and she tried to turn you into a ghoul?.
Yeah, I heard that it would be 12 episodes, I am really dissapointed, I will have to read the manga after that.
Well, what I thought of Tokyo Ghoul was
The first episode was intense, though a bit predictable, but the part where Kaneki becomes a ghoul was predictable, I liked the part where rize makes kaneki turn into a ghoul, that was a bit scary, and the part where Kaneki goes crazy at the crossing street looking at humans was disturbing and the ending was sad where Kaneki resisted to eat humans at the end, poor kaneki, toka is pretty hot though.

Which female character did you like better, Rize or Toka.
I say Toka cause Rize scares me. :(
