Even though one anime is about bicycling and the other one about basketball it does have some similarities.
 • In both series:
- Main character seems weak at first.
- Some of the first years are strong and there are some admirable senpai's.
- There are other teams which stories are also shown in the anime. The teams already know each other and have competed before, they also come to research each other before the game/race.

Why chose between battle shounen and sport when you can have both?

Lazer vision, speeding blur effects, OP power-ups, shouting out attack names, and a very generous dose of nakama power. Kuroko no Basket has slightly higher production value, but Yowamushi Pedal makes up for what it lacks with truly outrageous/outstanding attack sequences. There is drama, there is laughter, and there is plenty of intense sweaty stare-downs accentuated by zoom effects.

these two are the best if you love sports. the characters in these shows take it to the extreme and play their respective sports as extremely and as entertaining as possible.

Both have mc's that at first seem weak and are unlikely star athletes, but come into their own and win against all odds. Both characters are the heart of the team, pushing their strong teammates forward with spirit, willpower, and love of their sport. Both shows have delicious rivalries and side characters/opponents that you come to care about as much as the mc's. The athletes in both have dramatic, extremely specialized skills that seem almost like superpowers at times. The characters also have fun little quirks that make both shows comedic and endearing, not just about the sport.

If you enjoyed the unique powers and characters, impactful and exciting animation, and especially the second half of he series’ smaller team battles then you’ll probably love KnB. Kuroko no Basuke is huffing from the same paint can as Blue Lock and I’d argue it does everything Blue Lock does better. If Blue Lock gave you a rush you’ll be jumping out of your seat at certain points in KnB. Give it a shot, you won’t be disappointed!

Blue lock is very similar to Kuroko. Blue lock is just creating 1 GOM but better. As Kuroko progresses it leans towards "friendship is power" trope while  blue lock is individuals getting better(becoming GOM's). They both demonstrate their moves like some super power but it looks super freakin good. They both are just super fun to watch. if u like GOM then you'll enjoy Blue lock (vice-versa).

I know, it is not the same sport.

Kuroko no basket can be old, but the levels of hype are equivalent to the blue lock ones.
It is close. With better development of characters Kuroko no Basket ends up being BETTER than Blue Lock for me.

Both are sports animes. Both anime has egoist characters. Both anime's rival characters are incredibly powerful. Both anime's characters have personal special abilities which allows them to win towards their rivals instead of winning only with hard work. If you watched Blue Lock with excitement and enjoyed it, then you'll 100% enjoy Kuroko no Basket as well. (vice-versa)

Both anime show the protagonist as an inteligent player, value the strategies they use during the game and show how this alternative ways to winning are stronger than the natural talent, such as being super fast or strong, type of skills that are really requested to be the best player, but that´s not all without a great vision of the entire game.

Kuroko no Basket and Blue Lock are sports manga. What makes those two similar is that both has some kind of "superpower" system that make those two unrealistic.

This show reminded me of Eyeshield from the start, and even from episode two with the model guy in both animes. Kuroko has less of the wimpy aspect though. Pretty crazy. Hopefully Kuroko will go big.

Underdogs challenging other high school sports teams to become nr. 1. They have individual "special moves" used in the games. These special moves, their tricks, is used to make the games interesting and stylish. The main character of both animes hides themselves while playing their sport and are seen as small, timid and weak.

Both published from weekly shonen jump, and get animated by Production IG, also have sport theme even though Eyeshield21 is american football and kuroko no basket is basketball of course,the tension and comedy on par level

The two involve sports, eyeshield 21 american football while kuroko no bascket bascketball, and the two of them include a main character who normally would suck at sports but they have this inner talent that goes evolving through the anime. If you liked one you would definitely like the other.

Very shounen type of show. The progress of the team from being average to becoming the best! Serious and funny with lovable characters. 
Eyeshield 21 was my first anime to ever watch and finish, so all sports anime I have been comparing it to Eyeshield.

What do you get when you mix a bunch of oddballs, superhuman abilities, and sports? Your typical shounen/sports series that's what! So how do these two differ from that? Well, not that much really but that's probably why they are so similar. While the sports themselves are different the way the team and the individual players play follow similar styles. "If they score then we'll just score 10x more!" are their team mottoes as they both play as offensive, high scoring teams. The protagonists Kuroko/Sena are pretty much the same character as their weak appearance and unique ability make them both the underdog and star player.This leads to games that are interesting as well as exciting due to it becoming a David vs Goliath scenario. read more

In terms of excitement, these anime are top notch. Both manage to keep you on the edge of your seat with interesting games and plenty of suspense. Each has a cast of interesting and diverse characters that interact with each other beautifully. 
There's also a decent amount of humor that lightens up each show while they compete against seemingly unbeatable teams. Their art styles both make the action seem more pleasing and impressive to view. 
Lastly, they are (in my opinion) two of the best sports anime there are, with the only occupying the same top tier as them being Hajime no Ippo. If you like one, you'll most likely enjoy the other. read more

I watched Kuroko no Basket and was looking for a similiar one, then i saw a recommendation for Diamond no Ace. These two shows are a little bit different, dealing with different problems but they are just great in their own ways. I was not disappointed at all!
Both are about teamwork and personal growth with lots of comedy scenes and very exciting games

They both have great characters with the same passion for their respective sports, although Kagami is more similar to the main character in Diamond no Ace than in Kuroko. So they have a similar feel to them in terms of characters... somewhat (though none can match up to GOM, Seirin, or BaKagami). My first recommendation but I think it'll work!

Both are quite lengthy in episodes and series', also the theme is SPORT and about the struggles in achieving their goals. They each focus on team work as well as each character being able to improve.

Diamond no ace is a fantastic anime. In comparison to kuroko no Baske it has the same competitive feel of wanting to surpass your rivals and learning from the past mistakes. It also has that alluring suspense of when you don't know what's going to happen next or if they'll beat the opposing teams.

Both are sports anime, and both mc strives to make their team the best, although at the course of doing so, they will compete with rivals who are doing the same thing. Both are pretty fast paced, although I would say KnB is more fast paced. They have similar type of comedy and also have the same producer.

In both series, there's a very competitive atmosphere among teams involving basketball. They take place at a school life setting and many of the players in the series makes their own spotlights.

Both series features comedy, drama, and some strategies among team mates to achieve success. The teams follow their dreams as well and hope to make them come true.

Both series' coaches also have similar personalities of being strict but also caring towards her teammates.

Stating the obvious first, both are about basketball. In this regard both deal with the theme of basketball played for fun opposed to the sole purpose of basketball being to win. Aikawa (of Dear Boys) and Kuroko (of KnB) are both characters that come from a school renowned for its basketball team and both essentially "abandon" their old teams to start anew in order to play competitive basketball which is also fun. Ignoring the stark personality differences between Aikawa and Kuroko, they're in similar positions that make them the same. They both are well respected by their former teammates and considered something similar to childhood friends who've seen different sides to them that their current teams haven't seen. Both are also set up to face their former teammates in order to succeed in their goals.

While the art of Dear Boys can't even compare to KnB's (considering it's an older anime) it's still enjoyable to watch and worth giving a chance.  read more

Both series has a Main Character that was in the best team in HS Ball but play in a different teams from their teammates 
Both play games and "does something in the end"
Both are both sports anime, so they go play, camp, and all that :P

But unlike Kuroko no Basket, Dear Boys isn't going to have a 2nd Season

If you're looking for a sports anime with awesome moves and extraordinary shots then this will fit your criteria.

Both animes are all about basketball.
Both contains awesome moves however dear boys is more oriented in a realistic way while kuroko is unattainable.
Both have comedy while dear boys has a little bit of romance in it
While kuroko contains the generation 6, dear boys contain the only "5 man team" with no subs all the way to the finals

All in All this is a great anime to watch especially if you're a fan of basketball or any kind of sports

Kuroko's Basketball and Big Windup are similar, not because of the sports they each portray but that each series has a pair of boys that team work is revolved around. In Kuroko's Basketball, the pair is Kuroko and Kagami and in Big Windup (baseball) it is Abe (Catcher) and Mihashi (Pitcher). Both Mihashi and Kuroko have similar personalities where they are not very confident in their skills at first but their dominant partners(kagami/abe) bring out their qualities for the good of the team and sports in general.

If you like one, im positive you'd like the other as they are both brilliant! XD

After falling out with his middle school team, the protagonist enters high school hoping for a fresh start. Physically weak, and not all that valuable as a player individually, he's gifted when it comes to the technical aspects of the sport, and functions best when conspiring with another player to bring out the best in each other.

They both have a protagonist who seems weak, but in fact has an exceptional abilities. Both of these anime focus on the strategy to win by analyzing opponents and finding their weak points. Also in both cases there is a team that is considered weak and often underestimated, but they manage to overcome many of the obstacles thanks to strategy and hard work. The relationship between the two main characters is also similar - one of them helps the other one to become the best, but they soon realize that they need to be independent in order to overcome their limitations. Both Kuroko no Basket and Ookiku Furikabutte share a message that you shouldn't give up just because the opponent seems much stronger, because you never know whether or not you're going to win unless you try. read more

both are sports anime and both of their main characters seem average but in reality have a special trick that make them vital parts of their sports team. They also have a certain feel to them when they win or lose. they didnt portray most of the teams as evil or anything, just another team trying their best.

This is my first recommendation, so I apologize ahead for not going much into detail or for any failures in my English.

Both are anime about sports, even though one is about football instead of basketball. In both of them you have a very peculiar and funny main character (Kuroko & Tatsumi), while exploring very well the difficulties of a rather mediocre team to stand up against all the other "sharks in their tank", trying to become the best in Japan. However, the thing that stood out the most for me and that really brings this two anime closer to each other is the spotlight that many of the supporting characters receive in them, despite their differences in roles and personalities. Each of the players get his space and highlights as both anime go on, delivering all the desired aspects of a team environment and giving the feeling of proximity with its viewers. Even though Giant Killing is not as captivating as Kuroko no Basket in regards to story depth, it compensates with awesome graphics and non-stop action. read more

Both have a team that is doing poorly recruit someone new (2 people in KnB's case) to help turn things around for their respective sports, and both have great animation.

However, aside from the obvious difference of what sport each anime is about, KnB is a high-school sports anime, whereas Giant Killing is set at a professional level.

Bleach and Kuroko no Basuke have a lot of similarities, even thought they pretty different in concept. Both of them have some sort of supernatural elements, every character have his own uniqe ability and it all filled with similar type of humor. Some characters personalities and even their design sometimes looks really alike. Both features bishonens, so if you watch it solely for pretty boys, you won't be disapointed.

Both series are essentially, battle shounen meets sport, to the extreme. Unreal powers, super speed, move names, they are both so much ridiculous fun that I implore you to watch one if you haven't seen the other!

- Popular Shounen animes
- Kuroko and Takumi have similar personalities in that they are really blank and deadpan most of the time. They don't show strong emotions and generally act spacey despite being the protagonists. 
- Focus is on the action, so you get plenty of court time in KnB and plenty of street time in Initial D. 
- Little character development yet they have many solid flat characters that are still able to contribute and further the story. 
- Badly written female characters that will make many women cringe. 
- Good clean fun between competitors. Even though there is a lot of smack talking in both, the challengers are people who love the sports and take it seriously. So you don't really get petty antagonists.  read more

Kuroko no Basket and Days have similar MCs

They are both centered around team sports, one is about basketball while the other is about soccer. Teamwork is important and the teams are strong in both animes. While the MCs in Kuroko no Basket had a different and specific goal, the two shows are very similar to each other in their essence and atmosphere. They are both sports anime with comedy, maybe more so in Kuroko no Basket.

Both shows are unrealistic but that doesn't necessarily mean it's a bad thing. They have a similar story in the sense that both teams were average and became strong. Both shows feature themes like friendship and team play. If unrealism is not an obstacle for you, you should definitely try it.
