They are romantic comedies about adult otakus falling in love. While in Net-Juu its mainly about game otakus, while in WnKwM you'll find a fujoshi, a cosplayer, a gamer. If you enjoy one, you'll probably enjoy the other.

I get a similar feeling when i watch wotaku, how the characters act, the humor, the music, the artstyle. so if you enjoyed nozaki-kun you will definitely love this show!

Gives off the same vibes as Wotaku

In both anime the story is focused on the dating part of the relationships instead of the chasing part. Both very wholesome and the characters are kinda similar

just think yamada-kun needs to be higher up in the recommendation list for wotakoi lol Both romances with nerds, in wotakoi both are nerds in Yamada-kun it's just Yamada. Both are super cute <3

Both the female leads are fujoshi, light comedy and had a really great time watching it... one of my fav romcoms ever <3

both series talks about Adults trying to explore love with the help of the things that they love, Wotakoi explores the romance of two Otaku adults while Rikei koi is also about two scientist explores love with the help of Science. Both anime has their own unique way of presenting love and both have solid supporting characters that are also fun to watch. both of these shows will be enjoyed by adults..i think

similarities: - main characters look alike (appearance-wise): a pink haired girl and a dark blue haired boy wearing glasses - both anime depict love with otaku characters - they're both a light romantic comedy - The female MC is outspoken and an extrovert while the male MC is quiet and an introvert differences: - 3d Kanojo is set in high school (it's a shoujo) and Wotaku ni Koi is set in a workplace (it's a josei) - in 3d Kanojo only the boy is an otaku but in Wotaku ni Koi all the main characters are otakus - in Wotaku ni Koi there are 2 couples instead of just one - 3d Kanojo deals  read more

Both portray love and friendship and have lovely characters . Office work environment. Both anime are romantic comedies. Both have a similar overall feel, are light-hearted, funny and cute.

Both are set in an office environment and center around young adults. They both have a rather slow pacing in term of romance but are nonetheless very funny and entertaining.

In contrast to all the characters in this show who are office workers and otakus, Danna ga Nani wo Itteiru ka Wakaranai Ken focuses on the relationship between an otaku husband, and his working office wife. The shows are similar thematically. Both shows explore relationships in a comedic light showing the transition of the character/s as otakus into young professionals, how they maintain their old and new identities, and the meanings of growing up. Wotaku ni Koi wa Muzukashii fits a standard 25 minute slot, whereas Danna ga Nani wo Itteiru ka Wakaranai Ken is a 3 minute per episode slice of life based  read more

Romantic comedy shows involving a group of friends. The main couples share similar personalities with a quiet-stoic guy and a cheerful-friendly girl, making the dynamics of both pairings similar. Both shows also have more than one possible pairings. Even though Tadakoi is set on high school, and Wotakoi is set on working age, both have similar atmosphere, in which it leans on the comedy but have a lighthearted way of presenting the romance aspect.

Well if you like anime that focus on a group of people that like video games and stuff then both of these shows work. Wotakoi is a more mature romance with like, actual adults. Gamers is set in high school and uses the character's screwed up relationships and misunderstandings as its main source of comedy. If you want shows with a likable cast, above average comedy and nerdiness then both of these shows are worth checking out imo

The main difference between these two show comes from the backdrop (Wotakoi is with adults in a workplace while Dress Up Darling is high school) and the catalyst for the relationship. Outside of this these shows are surprisingly similar in tone and overall themes. Both deal with a relationship that starts as a mostly transactional one that in time evolves into a deeper affection. And both work with characters who are basically just weirdos who for the most part embrace who they are. If you have seen Dress Up Darling first then I highly recommend you jump to Wotakoi. Both take place in an office job with characters in their mid 20's. Both also have a somewhat relaxing atmosphere and off beat comedy.

These two animes concentrate on being yourselves whether you’re an Otaku or a competitive gamer. It’s fun to experience the couples romantic moments in their own ways.

Both romance comedy, both produced by A-1 picture, both has stylistic and catchy opening and both of them really high rated

Both focus on otaku culture and how young adults who are in it relate to it.

It's Otakus dealing with reality, and not to mention Kawaii girls! Both shows are very enjoyable to watch just for fun, nothing more nothing less!

Otaku. The otaku culture is known to all who watch anime, a little more so than the average bystander. This presentation of the otaku, alongside some real behaviour and interactions is something of an element Koikimo and Wotakoi plays into. As it says on the tin with Wotakoi, basically otakus falling in love. Koikimo is a little different and is more of a sub-element that gets mixed into the iffy love affairs it plays with. Both are good anime, although Koikimo gets a lot of slander for reasons the synopsis can inform you of (you can make out why from there). Compared to a more down-to-earth and  read more

such a underrated romcom anime!! me love it <3

Kobayashi is fantastic while Wotaku is above average. Both shows are exciting departures from genre tropes. Kobayashi is slice of life from an adult perspective (still lots of moe though), while Wotaku is an adult rom-com where the relationship begins in episode 1 (and is free of any nonsense drama). In both the way that the adult relationships are handled result in heartwarming moments

Wholesome non-toxic romance! People dating from the start of the show! Actually talking through problems! No manipulative nonsense! Humour not based around cruelly making fun of people! Healthy friendships as well as romantic relationships! Wholesome shoujo rom-coms light on the melodrama are not easy to find.

Otaku. The realism of being an otaku in anime is sometimes misrepresented. Blend S and Wotakoi feel very real in presenting such a case, however, not being too slapstick about it or just poking into it. Both anime are based around time at work, Blend S being a maid cafe, Wotakoi being an office job. Character relations are similar here to or just very real feeling. Both are good comedy anime brought to you by the same studio A-1 Pictures. Blend S focusing more on comedy than the sometimes more realistic and romantic Wotakoi.

Both anime deals with office romance between colleagues, cute love story.

Both are comedy with adults who struggle with everyday adult life problems - work, loneliness, relationships with other people. Also, main character is mostly unemotional. I also feel the type of humor of this shows is somewhat similar.

Both are workplace comedy/slice of life series. However, Aggretsuko has more comedic elements and focuses more on workplace dynamics and issues that come up when you're in your mid twenties.

Similarities - Both Male MCs are introverted/antisocial - Both Male MCs are dragged into social gatherings - Both female MCs are extroverted (to an extent) - Both series relate to moderate romance/comedy and dramatic elements Differences - Wotaku has more mature comedy VS uzaki chan is mostly ecchi comedy/misunderstandings - Wotaku is about workplace colleagues VS uzaki chan is about university senior/junior

Both series are a romance between two "nerdy" characters. Be it nerdy about otaku things and/or videogames, they give off very similar vibes.
report Recommended by hahachickem11037
Both somewhat light hearted romance anime, although Wotakoi deals with romance much more maturely than Welcome to the NHK (I know, ironic seeing how immature but hilarious it seemed in Wotakoi). Both deal with Otaku’s (kinda Otakus) trying to reform back into society.

it can be difficult to find another anime to top kaichou wa maid-sama!, especially since season 2 is near impossible. thankfully, i believe i've found an anime that may seem extremely different but happen to be a lot more similar than anticipated. this series is titled wotakoi: love is hard for otaku. GENRE the main reason as to why these are similar would be the simple fact that they're both classified as romance comedies that also tie into the slice of life category. SETTING that being said, it can be seen that they both take place in very common/basic settings. wotakoi's plot is seen throughout a basic desk-type office  read more

Workplace comedy series that have multiple romances and dont focus too much on the work aspect, rather the character's relationships with one another.

Both stories are comedies that share the same dynamics of a pair of couples interacting in a slice of life manner.

You are an otaku, alright. So you are struggling with love life, right?

Both are slice-of-life/comedy animes that focus on otakus and geeks falling in love. Tonari no Kaibutsukun is more lighthearted compared to Wotaku ni Koi wa Muzukashii, which delves deeper into geek culture and focuses more on romance than comedy; however, both have their fair share of funny moments nonetheless!

The OVA focuses on Kabakura's and Koyanagi's past (The Green and Orange haired people if you forgot the names). It has all the characters that you love the original show, same humor, and animation. It feels just like another episode of the show, so if you liked the original show, I would definitely recommend watching this.

even though they are quite different both shows have similar vibe, both make you feel warm inside both have socially awkward characters both are quite slow paced which works for their advantage to create a more relaxing atmosphere if you enjoyed one you'd probably enjoy the other as well

Wotaku and Osake both revolve around working adults and how they interact in private. In Wotaku, the MCs are connected by their love for gaming and anime. In Osake, the husband and wife are connected by their passion for alcoholic beverages. The tone of these two anime are not the same but they do feel similar. They both deal with adult situations and relationships without really delving into the usual ecchi territory. Even though there is some typical charactization tropes and suggestions, there is a sense of maturity to their interactions.

Both of these shows revolve around coworkers. The casts are sweet and colorful while being grounded and relatable. Wotakoi focuses more on the characters romance life outside of work, while in Sakura Quest the characters get to know each other better while on the job.

Otakus, who know more of anime romance than actual romance, falling in love - or having people falling for them. Those are shows about otakus that find out what the feeling of love is like. In Love Stage the love blooms between two boys, and in Wotakoi, between a boy and a girl. The comedy of the shows are really similar as well, and the side characters relationship are equally cute as the main one's.

A new start ruined? Chuunibyou and Wotakoi both follow protagonists who wish to keep their secrets under the blanket only to be ruined by their respective partners. Yuuta's normal school life and Narumi's normal work life chances are both ultimately destroyed by Rikka and Hirotaka alike, drawing the two parties in each anime to become close to one another and build a relationship on something they had once dashed away. Both anime are great rom-coms with Wotaki being a very relaxing anime about otakus, whilst Chuunibyou is about chuunibyous with a much-crazed atmosphere.

Bottom-Tier and Wotakoi both follow those with similar interests coming together and socializing about the things they take joy in. The main difference between the two is that Wotakoi is only about otaku culture and how that is a major influence on those in adult life, Bottom-Tier is almost there but it focuses more on social aspects like going out, gossip, and other high school activities, with everyone seeming to love this one game known as "Trackfam". Both are good rom-coms that are lighthearted, generally inoffensive, and simply just fun to watch.

There are a lot of things that you hear over and over as an anime fan, one of those is the constant clamoring for romance shows that don't exclusively take place inside the walls of a highschool. Wotakoi is often heralded as one of those down to earth romance shows that does a halfway decent job of presenting a real mature relationship. However if that is what you are looking for, I wouldn't have pointed you toward wotakoi, I would have instead said that you should watch Planetes. You may be thinking that these two shows look quite different, and I would have to concede  read more

Work is fun… Well, maybe not always, if ever, but Ganbare and Wotakoi follow the lives of office workers making the most of what stale adult life can bring. Drinking, playing games, or just messing around at work. There's also a bonus of love-life getting mixed into the formula too, why not try and see some wholesome relationships form between workers? It's sweet. One's short and the other is a full-length TV anime, but they both provide the same service in their own ways.
