The main difference between these two show comes from the backdrop (Wotakoi is with adults in a workplace while Dress Up Darling is high school) and the catalyst for the relationship. Outside of this these shows are surprisingly similar in tone and overall themes. Both deal with a relationship that starts as a mostly transactional one that in time evolves into a deeper affection. And both work with characters who are basically just weirdos who for the most part embrace who they are.

Romantic comedies about people who live for their hobbies. Interesting characters with great chemistry, grown up vibe (compared to other more generic romcom anime).

Cute romace! The development of felings! The sharing of hobbies and interests! That's what both animes about. All of this is carried out while cute and endearing slice of life happens. The main characters are well written and their story arcs are interesting to watch
