Yeah right, the pacing is the biggest offender so far, I also have Hazy Memories, but the current arc has moved at lightning pace for no reason, which leads to certain conclusions lacking the adequate impact. And the latest time skip felt really off.
I really hope the quality improves later on, otherwise, it will be a big shame.
Having witnessed 7 episodes of the current second part of the anime, I really don't have hopes for this adaptation anymore.
Setting aside that the animation isn't that good (it's decent for the most part, still miles better than Biscuit Hammer), the visual direction was quite jarring for last week's episode despite having some genuinely good animated bits.
And for today's episode, holy shit, I don't recall the time skip on the manga to feel so damn abrupt, like, wtf. It doesn't help either that it feels like they're cutting content, as stuff often feels a little rushed.
This is a shame, because I love part 2 a lot, but the way things are going so far... well, let's say that each week my motivation for watching this nosedives a lot.
Yeah I agree, it has been good. This week's episode was good I agree, so far they have nailed most of the scenes I remember reading on the manga, most specifically Shinsuke.
It's kinda sad this anime has a score lower than 7, but I remember talking to you a while back then, that these works wouldn't be comprehended by MAL users of all things, so it's to be expected. xD
Nice seeing you, hope you're doing well.
Ok Sengoku Youko's anime might be even better than I expected
I've got some good news and bad news.
Good news is that Sengoku Youko is getting an Adaptation
Bad news is that it's white fox and I doubt they'll be able to handle this.
I do hope White Fox has enough budget and talent for this
it's sad, because character dynamics and Satoshi's humor is still there, but everything else is lackluster. They did him dirty.
Does this mean we're one step closer to getting our Sengoku Youko anime adaptation!?
Man, this might be one of the best anime ever lol, I don't want to overhype it, but if the adaptation makes the source justice, then it will be amazing!
True that, Mizukami has a thing for making every character deep, and their endings are pretty strong. I want to reread his works too, been needing a bit of wisdom lately, and yesterday I talked about emotional quotes from visual media, including some quotes from Mizukami's works.
After the god damn joke that AoT's manga's ending was, I looked back at Mizukami Satoshi... man, I really miss reading through his manga, specially Sengoku Youko and Shinsuke's development, specially that freedom speech his sword gave him. Ah... good old times. I'm feeling like rewatching Planet With lol.
