Both stories tell a man's life without dialogue in imaginative ways. Perhaps the greatest aspect of both is how a story of a person's life can be told in such a short amount of time. Furiko clocks in about 3 minutes while Small Cubes took about 10 minutes. With a twist of creativity, a normal life is told within minutes that creates a lasting impression on anyone who appreciates simplicity and art.

Both are from the same producer, relaxing scenes, no talking.

These are both short films that rely primarily on visuals to tell their respective stories, both of which are about memories of a deceased loved one.

Bittersweet short movies that leave your insides warm and fluffy by the time you finish. These min-movies don't have any voice-acting, instead it chooses to tell the story by using beautiful art and music.

Both give off a very general realistic feel, and have strong emotions packed inside!

Without any narration of the character the anime is about, these two animes manage to be truly beautiful.

Space and Time, two abstracts that can't be felt or touch. In this series the elderly man practically goes back in time in term of his memories. As his is remembering all the joyful memories, it can be said that time separated him from him family slowly. While in 5 Centimeter per Second, Akari and Takaki are slowly separated by space, with their constant routine of moving from town to town. Slowly growing farther and farther apart from each other, it made it harder for them to meet each other face to face. Time and space might be moving at a pace that we always overlook,  read more

If you want a heartwarming story about a family with a strong theme behind it, try watching Tsumiki no Ie. While Clannad is an anime series and Tsumiki no Ie is a 12 minute short, I believe that Tsumiki no Ie presents a uniquely potent story of a caliber similar to that of Clannad After Story.

Tsumiki no Ie and Shashinkan are both silent short films with beautiful art and are about the passage of time.

While quite different in substance, both share a theme relating to family. Summer Wars is more action-oriented while Tsumiki no Ie is about cherishing memories while at the same time learning how to move on. Also, Tsumiki no Ie is 12 minutes long. Despite its short run-time, Tsumiki no Ie portrays an incredibly potent story and is easily a masterpiece.

Both of these thought-provoking shorts talk about human life.

Though Millennium Actress' narrative continuity - albeit quite jumpy - contrasts with La Maison en petits cubes' lack of narrator, the two are uniquely similar in that they are framed narratives communicated via the melancholy reminiscences of an elderly protagonist. Both stories unfold as Impressionistic splashes of recollection; the audience follows as the past leads to the present, drawn into each respective protagonist's current despondence.

La Maison is an animated short whose premise and feeling both reminded me of YKK. Both animes feature a future in which the world has flooded and in both cases this leads to deep feelings of nostalgia and longing for the past.

If you enjoy surreal world and thought-provoking yet somewhat confusing plotline of La Maison, then you'll find a lot more of that in Angel's Egg. You can not only give your brain a 90-minute workout, but you can look at some nice eye candy as well.

They are both "Think Pieces"; each feels reflective in its own way, on its own subject matter. Overall it is the tone of Kunio Kato's creations that are similar to Mushishi to me and I would recommend one to a fan of either.

- Poetic - Rich with metaphors. - Thought provoking. - Tsumiki no Ie has no dialogue and more of beautiful music.

Both are set in a world that you don't know much about, with minimal world-building (in a good way) and not a lot of characters. Both have a very relaxed / laid-back tone, and both get very serious at times. Tsumiki no Ie is a lot more densely packed than Girls' Last Tour, but beyond that difference I think these two shows feel quite similarly.

Both are extremely short love stories and very heartwarming. Even though they are short in length, they pack each show with a lot of symbolism, themes, and other deep meaning that make both equally enjoyable. Tsumiki no Ie, however, has a feel of nostalgia to it. Check out both shows when you get a chance - there is a reason why they are both so highly ranked :)

Both animations are simplistic, imaginative, and set to a beautiful soundtrack. There is no dialogue, but the emotions of the characters are strong and easy to distinguish. Each short leaves the viewer with a bitter-sweet, melancholy feeling.

Both story's point out the world has emerged vastly and main characters evoke there past lives memory's and thoughts to keep whatever semblance with them in the ever so different environment they seem to be living in now.

-Reminds me a lot of the same animation style -Both tells its story through showing not telling -Light at first but then becomes more and more deeper and meaningful

Kin. La Maison and Kaigo to Ikiru are stories that tell a story of one and their family, their current standings, their current struggles. They are both quite sad stories, with how they show, not everything is all happy days. But as that may be true, one must not overlook the good in life and the memories made along the way. Good shorts that are very time efficient as well as having good attention to audiovisual.

Tsumiki no le is Short with Music and Timeless a Music Video but what they have more in common that they deal with time and aging in a emotional, beautiful, and charming way.

Tsumiki no Ie and On your Mark are two non-speaking anime that succeed to bring a emotional story to the viewer even if they are both very short.
report Recommended by hubertpivert
Both are short anime which focus on a main protagonist reminiscing about their past while doing their daily activities. Both have a very similar atmosphere and give off a very similar nostalgic feeling, which makes the two anime quite similar.

Both have similar art style.
report Recommended by Idan
Both of these shorts are done in similar styles, one being a colored version of the style and the other having sepia tones. Both deal with life issues.
report Recommended by Yemi_Hikari
Same surreal style though La Maison en Petits Cube is somewhat more depressing.
report Recommended by slenderfall
Very similar art style. Both have old characters and a big big house (and great storyline of course).
report Recommended by SotN
The main reason I recomend these two, even though they completly are different is because the art styles have some simularities to them.

By the same production company. Similar animation and storytelling, and both enjoyable watches.
report Recommended by Krugo
Short films with highly stylized and unique visuals, makes special use of color and environmental storytelling rather than explicit exposition, both also animated by a limited amount of staff leading to very personal and intimate feeling movies
report Recommended by KousakaK
Short allegoric stories about people hanged in time , original art and imaginative settings
report Recommended by Rychulubicz
Both of these are shorts that revolve around a specific place/item. They both focus on the passage of time and the main character's shifting relationship with this particular item/space. Although their art styles are vastly different, their respective atmospheres are quite similar and feel somewhat nostalgic.

Both are: - Short stories (about 10 minutes) - Simple but heartwarming - Beautifully animated and touching Those two titles teach that even if an anime is short and without any dialogue, it can be a masterpiece.
