These are both short films that rely primarily on visuals to tell their respective stories, both of which are about memories of a deceased loved one.

Both are very short, but have a very nice art style and music.
And both have a story about old love and memories about it.
I find the storytelling to be similar and I found it sad that noone else recommended this yet so I figured I would. Both follow a lonely main character and tell a story using visuals and memories alone. They're also both quite short.
Although there isn't much in common, but the atmosphere and circumstances are similar. That is to survive.
Unlike this short, "The House of the little cubes" flesh out the characters and the setting in the short time it has, it doesn't manipulate the spectator with cheap soap opera tricks, the art style is fantastic and the music is beautiful.
I consider it a must-watch if you love animation

Isolation, looking at what once was. Shelter and Tsumiki both follow two individuals with only a memory of what was prime time in their life.
Dwelling into their current lives, they look at their surroundings to reveal what was once theirs previously, a time when the abnormal was yet to be present. Following with a sequence of memories heartfelt, but looking onwards from the past.
Both are good stories that are short yet impactful in some way. Just stay for the music if nothing else.
