Both have the same romance, horror, reverse harem, vampire and the same setting where it is set in a school excursively for vampires, dissimilarities are that the female protagonist in one anime is not alone when dealing with vampires, while the female protagonist is all by herself and has to fend off them vampires.

Seeing how these animes are both contain vampire, the theme of the animes is to break down the wall between humans and vampires. Both animes also involves school life and daily activities. There is some comedy and love interest involved in both animes so if you like Karin, you will like Vampire Knight...

Romance, vampires, and lost memories for the female protagonist, who ends up having a more important role than first glance.

The characters in VK and Fruits Basket seem similar. Both Tohru and Yuuki start out innocent to what's really going on around them, but as the storyline unfolds, both are determined to do whatever they can to help with the situation. (Both characters also have the same voice actor.) Also, Kyo and Zero both have the anti-social, trying to be a tough guy and deal with my problems all by myself thing going on.

If you liked Ouran you'll probably like Vampire Knight too! The humour, artstyle and coloring of Vampire Knight kinda reminds me of Ouran, but also the fact that it's centered about a girl and many boys around her. Anyway, I can really recommend them both!
report Recommended by GeniusofIron
Both animes, are about vampires, but with a touch of comedy in one of them ( Rosario + Vampire) they really have a good history, specially Vampire Knight
report Recommended by DaMzHn
vampire knight and special A revolve around elite high school kids with the plot focused on romance and comedy both are reli good anime VKG is better than VK
report Recommended by Tidus
In his beautiful animation, many bishonens, in his style, in his kind of argument, drama, suspense, supernatural, romance.. same feelings.
report Recommended by Dixy
Both tell about the undeads... Vampires and Zombies. The leading female characters somehow trapped between two male characters.
report Recommended by Titan-Kikumaru
Hakuouki is like an Edo era version of Vampire Knight. The Rasetsu, humans (originally) that turn into blood-crazed demons possessing extraordinary strength and are after the heroine's "special" kind of blood at several points in the show, strongly resemble the Level Es of VK. Both are reverse harem anime produced by Studio DEEN.

-Reverse Harem -The relationship between lead-lead and lead-second lead is almost copy-paste. -Bishonen. -Similar overall design. -similar pacing. *Vampire Knight has better writting though.
report Recommended by Mahareth
Kuroshitsuji concerns certain uncommon interactions between butler and master. Vampire Knight does not concern demons/angels/shinigami. If you really enjoyed either this one or Vampire Knight then you will love this next series (if you're into vampires). Vampire Knight is more focused on dark romance involved with vampires and humans with a love triangle in the mix and a dark secret that will unravel itself later in the story.
report Recommended by memento_mori
Both have mysterious atmosphere and are about supernatural events. Mai resemble Yuki, and Kazuya - Zero. Relations between them are also very similar.
report Recommended by Shifu
The plot is quite similar particularly in the theme of vampires and people and further developments between them.
report Recommended by aievolsleep
the art style is similar to some extent. both main girls are "special" in some way and thats why 2 different guys pursue them(of course for other reasons as well). Yuzu is like Zero in that they really care for the girl but they act like a couple of tsunderes. both have an interesting love triangle where the girl loves (cares) about both men and that she knew both since childhood.
report Recommended by romcomlover96
Both involve a major conflict between vampire hunters and vampires.
report Recommended by Bakumako18
Both vampire anime with very similar looking main characters (Kaname & Rai). Rai is actually clearly influenced in his design by Kaname and it's even alluded to in the series. Both very handsome, extremely OP noblest of nobles (purebloods) in their own respective vampire societies. Both have very similar appeal and are essential viewing for fans of Vampire anime.
report Recommended by JVskunkape
Both are vampire romances - Vampire Knight is shoujo and Devils Line's romance is very shoujo-like. Both feature an angsty vampire guy who hates himself for being one (Zero / Anzai) and refuses to drink blood; in both he is in love with the mc girl who isn't bothered by the fact that he is a vampire. VK is has a love triangle, DL does not. Vampire Knight has a gothic feel whereas Devils Line has an urban and modern setting.

Both anime are about vampires. Some vampires wish to do harm and have some sort of evil plan but the main character tries to stop them. In Vampire Guilty it takes a while for the action to start also because this anime is about more than just the action and bloodshed. It also involves romance and therefor Vampire Knight is more a shoujo while Hellsing is more a shounen.

same Gothic atmosphere . both have comical relief while Kurishitsuji (black butler ) has a dark ambiance it very similar to vampire knight . i would also like to say vampire knight manga is way better than i anime !!
report Recommended by MrOri
Both anime's are about the fight for the establishment of peace between humans and vampires...with hopes that humans and vampires can coexist. But of course there would be hindrances to stop such an alliance. Both anime's also have their own share of humor that'll tickle your funny bone and of course a few drops of romance here and there to make the stories even spicier.
report Recommended by yUuRi_03
VK is a more shojo-ish, but both series have characters with painful histories, betrayals, rankings, wars, some romance and supernatural. Though CG is much more thought provoking and grim in nature.
report Recommended by as3
Studio Deen animated both of them. And they both beat around the bush in the beginning, but progress as the anime goes on. Oh yeah, and they both have a bunch of bishonens.
report Recommended by shuffleair
Gives you a similar impression of darkness and mystery. I felt like characters design in Pandora was very, very like this one in VK, and animation is quite similar too.
report Recommended by Eriis
If you are looking for a more subtle vampire story, then these two may do it. Note: Don't go into Blood-C expecting it to be like Blood +
report Recommended by Yemi_Hikari
They're both about vampires, but DVB is more focus on the vampire queen than pure blooded vampires. Even so, they're both very enjoyable.
report Recommended by lilbabixdevil
Both Vampire anime, both have main characters that are from the most noble of vampire "bloodlines" Kaname Kuran & Noblesse. Both have amazing art styles & characters.
report Recommended by JVskunkape
They both have lots of blood in it and the plots are very well thought out This would be a good series to watch if you liked Death Note
report Recommended by VampireMokaSan
Both anime has a main character living in a vampire dormitory surrounded by vampires. The main character is in love with a vampire, but her best friend are half human/half vampire who is one-sided love relationship who swears to protect the main character while hating vampires. Vampire knight is more dark as vampire dormitory is more light-hearted romance. If youre a shoujo lover, youll love one another.
report Recommended by iNinjeek
It's an another beautiful shojo anime. It's different to Kaichou wa maid sama, but it's romantic too.
report Recommended by ayuzawausui
the main girl is in love with two guys and those two guys love her. and some drama
report Recommended by bloody_kekera11
Both of these shows are about Vampires & both main protagonists don't remember their past because of erasure of their memories. Both are somewhat focused on romance. Both are great if you enjoy one then you will definitely enjoy the other.
report Recommended by TragicRomance
Altought the storise are not qute the same the characters and the whole idea is simmilar. Also the main characters are pretty much the same.
report Recommended by Nick-
Mainly I think the producers had the same target audience for these 2 shows - probably 14 year old girls- and are in the same general genre. Having said that they're are pretty enjoyable with pseudo-dark plots and complicated relationships.
report Recommended by eklie
Also about vampires and the differences between life and death and how fragile a human life can really be.
report Recommended by wakaba426
Dark gothic style future and allmighty vampires - great cocktail for fans of bloodsuckers.
report Recommended by susan00
Both contain vampires, enough said. The art in these to animes is absolutly georgous. Good plots, secret loves, full Moons, and sexy vampires, are what makes these two animes so similar. Very unique.
report Recommended by Moonstream360
Both anime deal with vampires and romance on some level. Both are at a school setting. Vampire Knight and Fortune both have some level of mystery to them as well. If you like one you'll def. like the other.
report Recommended by lovelydeath
There both hidden love between characters but there is no third person for a love triangle but strawberry panic made me think of yuki and komena sorry bad spelling
report Recommended by keyara
Any poor souls who have subjected themselves to something as trivial as Vampire Knight should really invest in watching The Case Study of Vaitas, it has vampires, hot men, and a speck of romance just like vampire knight does but better. The Case study of Vanitas has plot, good characters and decent comedy. The only issue is its not a dramatic love triangle like Vampire knight is but all well. Try it out, I cannot recommend it enough😙🥰
report Recommended by Nartashi_20906
Both have conflicts between humans and vampires. Both have a weak human girl and a strong vampire boy. Both have romance and a vampire-human school as environment.
report Recommended by Ines_Osman
The main characters both lost their past memory and are trying to recover them with bits of hints to help remember.
report Recommended by J-Pop
They have completely different setting but both have action and romance with similar female lead and two main guys. Art style is kinda similar too.
report Recommended by 5trawberry
Vampire Knight and Kyou, Koi wo Hajimemasu have two completely different story lines, and Vampire Knight isn't even an OVA. However, as soon as I saw Tsubaki, she reminded completely of Vampire Knight. Sure, Vampire Knight is all dark and vampire-bloody but the two protagonists of these anime look like twins. Seriously.
report Recommended by Satsuyo
they're both normal girls with supernatural crushes <3!!

Boarding School Juliet and Vampire Knight share a theme of clandestine romance amid societal discord. In the halls of Dahlia Academy, the forbidden love between Romio and Juliet, representing the Black Dogs and White Cats respectively, mirrors the societal challenges faced by star-crossed lovers. The animal themed factions, akin to the day and night divisions across humans and vampires in Vampire Knight, serve as symbolic barriers, highlighting the struggles of love in the face of predetermined conflicts between opposing hierarchies. The black and white uniforms in both series act as visual metaphors for class divisions, with each shade further embodying the stark contrasts that their  read more

Both being dark and broody gothic themed stories, as well as having forbidden romance as its plot point as well too and a intricate and detailed art especially character design too.

Those two anime had a theme of mystery and romance also with a love triangle in Kindaichi Shonen no Jikenbo Returns had a love triangle between a high school detective Kindaichi, with his childhood friend Miyuki and Miyuki''s love rival to Kindaichi and the idol,Reika Hayami. While Vampire Knight also had a love triangle between Yuki,Zero and Kaname.
report Recommended by qKhayrin
Both feature a variety of blood based weapons & attacks. Both have lots of cool and unique character designs with a distinct visual appeal.
report Recommended by JVskunkape
Rather than a Mafia house, Vampire knight uses an academy, and Cross Yuuki is the daughter of the Headmaster, similar to Felicita. There is sort of a reverse Harem with two main guys fighting for the girl's heart. A lot of the vampires have personalities similar to the other gang members in Arcana Famiglia.
report Recommended by Mythical_Truth
Both anime cover the supernatural and contain vampires. Both have characters with conflicting creed and ideals. Both explore the theme of humanity and what it means to those with different perspectives on the issue.
report Recommended by JVskunkape
Both popular vampire shows with romance. Both shows have good comedy, beautiful art and amazing OSTs.
report Recommended by JVskunkape
Well there both sort of dark and depressing the only diffrence is that D.N.Angel is more of a lovey show.
report Recommended by Yoshizaburo_007
Ok before you call me crazy....trust me for some reason a LOT of people who like one of these like the other. They are not very similar in plot, except I guess with the love triangles you could make Amu=Yuuki Tadase=Kaname Ikuto=Zero Except Vampire Knight's tones are a lot darker than Shugo Chara's.
report Recommended by peacexlove
The main chracters are girls , both of them are in love between two guys and they have a power that they dont aware of it .
report Recommended by safena_ken
Both are romantic, love complex, cute.Nana and Yuuki are very sensitive girls and they don't know who to choose from the 2 guys that like them.
report Recommended by ErrorError
The main female character can't decide between two potiental love intrests. Just like Inuyasha. It has non-human characters too but, instead of demons Vampire Knight has Vampires. I don't know how but I get a similar feeling from watching Inuyasha as I do Vampire knight. Also everyone I know who like either Inuyasha or Vampire knight likes the other.
report Recommended by Kaito_anime
I recommend this, not because of the storyline itself, but because of the main characters. There's mystique around them and they both have a mission. It's hard to explain without spoiling, but Jigoku Shoujo is never a bad choice, so just watch it anyways ^__^
report Recommended by Bissen
Both series have many bishounens (so in a sense they're both reverse harem). Vampire Knight is darker and Hanasakeru Seishounen is... lighter I guess?
report Recommended by taro_jellybean
while the stories are very different the feel of them reminds me also both shows deal with the light and dark side of any situation I think if you like one you will most likely like the other

These two great stories share many similarities - supernatural aspect, some comedy, romance, dark atmosphere, and two great stories. Watch them!
report Recommended by as3
These two great stories both offer supernatural, love-triangles and drama. VK is lighter, but has a somewhat similar mood to Ayashi...
report Recommended by as3
VK is darker than Shana, but both series have supernatural, action and romance and school-life aspects that will keep you hooked until you get to the last episode!
report Recommended by as3
Both anime are about vampires. Some vampires wish to do harm and have some sort of evil plan and, of course, the main characters try to stop them. Hellsing Ultimate definitely has more action than Vampire Knight. Besides that does it take a while for the action to start in Vampire Knight. Vampire Knight also involves romance and therefore Vampire Knight is more a shoujo while Hellsing Ultimate is more a shounen.

It has both dark stories. not to mention that there's a boy who want to protect a girl no matter what.. they are both marvelous!
report Recommended by sayuuriixxanime
They are both rather dark, and reverse harem - girl surrounded by a bunch of very hot guys. Yamato is more comedic, and a better story. Yamato doesn't have vampires, but the female lead is a girl who loves scary movies and looks like the girl from The Ring.
report Recommended by Magdalen
Both deal with supernatural beings ( Vampires and Oni ). Also, all the Oni look very much like Zero and the main characters have a relationship
report Recommended by KoD
The plot isn't very similar but the drawings are very alike and the relationship, when the main characters become closer, reminds of the one which Yuuki and Kaname has. Even though they aren't close from the beginning, when time passes by, the guy protects the girl.
report Recommended by BlackBell6
Both have lots of good looking bishies :P The plots are very different, but you should find yourself getting sucked in the story and enjoying both, although KHR is a lot longer than VK.
report Recommended by Mitsuki-chan101
they have different story line and theme but both anime is School, Romance Genre and here are the other similarities: Both anime have 2 different class/branch in 1 school, the Normal Branch and the Music Branch for LaCorda and the Day Class and the Night Class for VP Zero, Yuuki and Kaname love triangle reminds me of the love triangle between Ryotaro, Hino and Len where both Ryotaro/Zero who's the same class/branch with the girl MC is quite cold yet protective with them, while Len and Kaname are both cold, cool, but also care for the girl MC

I think UtaPri is more light-hearted than Vampire Knight but they are both reverse harems set in a "special" school and have similar characters.
report Recommended by XxOtakuChiceexX
It has a love triangle, but its two girls and one guy, the guy, Kyoshiro reminded me of Kaname in a way, and he is also struggling with his feelings becuasse he has to destroy the girl he loves, its very good, if you liked Vampire knight im pretty sure you'll like Kyoshiro to Towa no Sora
report Recommended by dreamgirl204
The two main characters of STY are similar to Yuki and Zero of Vampire Knight. The dark atmosphere is the same, and while one show is about vampires, the other is about ghosts.
report Recommended by sevenay
Both are love stories with a sad atmosphere. Unfaithful love. Probably sad ending too. The protagonist cannot be together due to some circumstances.
report Recommended by Kyo_Kagami
Both are very dark series. They are about supernatural people who can kill people (diclonius and vampires). Still though, Vampire Knight is more romance like. Elfen Lief is more about killing people. Both series have flashbacks to the past. Plus, they contain a LOT of drama. They are both very enjoyable!
report Recommended by Nerdo
So many things about Vampire Knight feel like they've just been ripped straight from Nightwalker.
