Even though they are both different genres, and the themes are completely different, for some reason I felt that I was watching two sides of a story, like in Death Note, we have L who is the "good guy" who is trying to catch Kira from doing evil, and Kira masterminds a plan, so in the end he could still rule.
I felt that Vampire Knight play some of that, we have Zero who is not a bad guy but has a different agenda, to catch the vampires. Unlike L, Zero is not ahead of the game, nor he knows what Kaname true intentions are,
