both are reli good anime
VKG is better than VK
I think Kei resembles Kaname in many ways, as well as Hikari also resembles Yuuki, like her kindness and always wanting to help people.
Both series are about a special class with special students, and the other students admire them. The female lead characters are both tough girls.

Although VK ist Vampire Setting and SA is normal High School:
Both has: Romance, main male seem to have feelings for main female (do they? watch it! :P), both revolve around special persons in their way. Both main females are clever girls, not wussy.
VK(G) has sometimes a bit darker mood, while SA has sometimes more comedy.
I Just Thought That They Are Similar Because For Special A They have The Special Academy Where the Normal Students All Admire.. Same Goes For Vampire Knight Where there Is Night Class Where The Day Class Students Admires.
Both Also Have Romance But Not Exactly The Same Type :)
