Sono Bisque Doll wa Koi wo Suru

the female protagonist meets the male protagonist and ask him help to make her dream come true by making her clothes 

The theme of fashion/design doesn't appeal to me at all, but RUNWAY DE WARATTE managed to fascinate me and became one of the biggest surprises. SONO BISQUE seems to me to be a very good alternative, although it focuses more on academic romance and comedy than on being a “Fashion design Spokon”, as if Runway is. 

High School Boy with a talent of making dresses (The MC of Runway De Waratte focuses on modelling dresses while the MC of Sono Bisque Doll focuses on dresses for Hina dolls) meets a Totally Bishoujo High School Girl which looks kinda similar (The Girl from Runway De Waratte wanting to become a Top Model while the Girl from Sono Bisque Doll wants to cosplay her favorite characters) and thus begun the journey of the unlikely pair that have their paths crossed through their interests. 

Two shy boys are experts on sewing female clothes. Two blonde passionate girls about what they do. One is a failed model who gets success after meeting boy MC. The other is a wannabe cosplayer who asked for help to boy MC to do her outfits.

At one point they may have that same story plot about girl wanting to do something but can't until he meets an odd guy that helps her achieve her goal of being somebody.....However the situation plot were different, while one anime show that struggle that the two partner have to undergo, one was more like dress down, cu'z it wasn't something where the partners have to struggle do achieve some goal , it was more like a partnership of two weirdos whose goal is to make the girl's dream of being odd a reality. 

Both series have great emphasis on making clothes and outfits. The leads in each show also have similar dynamics which make for good chemistry. 

Both of the series revolves around the world of making & wearing clothes. The main characters are both introverts and lonesome until the female lead appeared. The fmc is a strong-willed character who influences the mc to expand their comfort zone. As they influence each other, they both learn and grow. Both story themes and journeys are the same and amazing! 

One focuses on modeling and another one focuses on cosplaying. But one goal of these shows is to show fashion. A common aspect that can be found is that a male character creates clothes for the girl to wear and to fulfill its purpose. 

Both of the male main characters are making their best girl's clothing. The story is kind of similar to Ikuto who has a big passion for making clothes and Gojo's passion for making dolls. Similarly to Marin being a passionate cosplayer and Chiyuki being passionate for being a runway model.

Both shows are wholesome with a more grounded attempt at telling the romance within the story. Both shows deal with characters who exist on the opposite side of the social ladder and while both take their unique spin on the outcome of this relationship, they both are driven by the characters that exist within the world and not by the fan service other shows need to survive. I recommend both indivudually but if you liked one you would definitely like the other. 

Both are the polar opposites attract kind of romance story and lots of fluffly and cute romance in it too. 

Horimiya: Guy side seem to be playboy but actually quiet and nice guy to be boyfriend with My Dress-Up Darling: Girl side seem to be gyaru that might use her influence to manipulate/force but actually nice girl that understand you and nice to be girlfriend with Horimiya: lack of uniqueness in story but fulfill with high tier art and top-notch relationship building instead My Dress-Up Darling: lack of uniqueness in story but fulfill with ecchi and top tier art instead Horimiya: Guy went from being boring, quiet and basically have no friend to actually have nice girlfriend My Dress-Up Darling: Guy went from being boring, quiet and basically have no friend to have very close girl friend (not girlfriend yet) Horimiya: Guy get to know that girl by incidental My Dress-Up Darling: Guy get to know that girl by incidental Overall, My Dress-Up Darling is basically Horimiya but took top notch character development of all character out, put all focus on main character and add ecchi in. read more 

The same plot in which girl finds out guy's oddity , but instead of being bothered by it , girl accepts him and from there romance develops.....however, the difference was in one anime the guy looks more like a Yankee but he wasn't one, while in the other has a guy who is a complete loner with a secret fetish....when it come to the girls, in one anime it involves an ordinary girl that can kick butt, while in the other anime's girl, has her being an achiever and popular but like her guy , she too has a fetish.  

Both shows are great wholesome rom-coms that show a shy loner and a popular girl slowly falling in love as they both start getting close (and eventually influenced) by the other. My Dress-Up Darling has a more traditional pacing and has a lot of great fan service, while Horimiya instead focuses on character development and is really fast-paced (in a good way overall). Both are some of the best shows the genre have to offer in my opinion and are very similar quality wise. 

Two main characters develop a relationship through similar interest 

Both shows are wholesome Romance shows that are entertaining and fun to watch. Kitagawa reminds me of Hori a lot, same with Gojo and Miyamura they both are the loner guys who are with the popular girl. Overall, both shows are amazing and I love them both, so if you like Sono Bisque Doll wa Koi wo Suru then you might like Horimiya.  

If you are looking for a romance anime, these two are perfect for you, they perfectly do what they promise, the two female protagonists are wonderful, the story develops in an easy and peaceful way and keeps you hooked for the entire episode 

-Both are romance, slice of life, and comedy genre taking place in high school -Both have a main character/couple dynamic of popular girl and quiet/loner boy -Fluffy, feel-good animes that have you dying hoping the main couple will get together with some...more mature moments (only hints) too These are two of the only romance animes I've seen that I've actually enjoyed. The animation and art is really well-done since the animes are on the newer side and if not for the plot then watch for the attractive characters, pretty art style and animation 

They both are about highschoolers who become friends by some crazy coincidence then fall in love. 

Both cover a relationship between an unpopular guy and hyper, gyaru-ish girl, with some teasing and bonding over a hobby. 

Popular gyaru girl becomes attached to a lonely boy with an unpopular hobby. The protagonists have a very similar dynamic, with the outgoing girl constantly pushing the lonely boy into uncomfortable social situations. The shows are chock-full of fanservice and embarassing/cringey situations and as a result can be somewhat uncomfortable to watch. 

- they're both romantic comedies in a school setting with enjoyable content - the leading male and female characters having opposite personalities, but still fall in love - the main MC is shy/awkward and friendless, but suddenly gains lots of female friends - the leading female teases the main MC (in Nagatoro there is a whole lot more teasing) - the leading female is great inside and outside 

Both have a shy MC with basically no friends and a gyaru girl that teases him. There are also more girls that while follow the MC aren't in love with him. 

Popular girl follows some lonely boy around because of his hobby. Both are filled with wet dreams and fan service, MCs have similar dynamic. 

Both anime have : - a male protagonist who is introvert, have a hobby which is unsual / unpopular, have lack of self estime and don't have friends. - a female protagonist who is popular and really outgoing, but is really kind in depth and show interest to the male instead of others who seem boring to her. Both anime share the same chemistry, with both male being really shy and both girl playing with that (even if the teasing is a bit more direct in Sono Bisque Doll) and helping them to go out of their shell and supporting them. 

Nagatoro is basically My Dress-Up Darling to the tenth power. Nagatoro really ramps up the teasing. If you're into that part of My Dress-Up Darling, then you will love Nagatoro, and if you enjoyed Nagatoro, I think you'll love My Dress-Up Darling. 

Marin and Nagatoro both teases the guy MC. The guy MCs also both prefer to be alone and have their own interests (Senpai/Naoto being a painter and Gojou being a doll artisan). The difference would only be that in Nagatoro, the teasing is straightforward. 

Romantic comedies about people who live for their hobbies. Interesting characters with great chemistry, grown up vibe (compared to other more generic romcom anime). 

Cute romace! The development of felings! The sharing of hobbies and interests! That's what both animes about. All of this is carried out while cute and endearing slice of life happens. The main characters are well written and their story arcs are interesting to watch 

Are you looking for an otaku-themed anime where you can definitely relate your passion and craziness to? 

Both anime are about daily school life of a plain dumb boy, who somehow gets an idol-live girl to like him and go ou with him.  

both have a beautiful and strong female love interest who is written well and don't just exist to act all cute and pretty all the time. 

Both involve a strong female character which take care of the men they love. Even if Gojo from Sono Bisque Doll wa Koi wo Suru? have a deeper personality in the writing, he shares in common with Izumi to be a shy but very kind person. It's really pleasant and refreshing to follow their relationship because it change compare to the usual "only cute girl and strong boyfriend". 

Both shows have a female main character whose passion is cosplay. The male main character also helps the female main character to become a better cosplayer and is very supportive. There is also a hint of romance in both shows. If you like one of these, you might like the other one. 

Each female lead has a very strong interest in cosplay and the male MC's in both series get brought along for the ride to help them out with methods such as photographing them and positively influencing them for their passion of the hobby! 

Both treat about cosplay, and both are very good. This is a mixed feelings. The cosplay thematic is very competitive and, dramatic. In particular, theses two animes caught my attention, and it is very popular. Both with good animations and beautiful Waifus.  

Similar main characters. Komi is more funny while dress-up is more focused. I prefer My Dress Up Darling since it's I find it less formulaic.  

Both are based on a similar settings but have a very different MC. Komi san unlike marin who is extremely social, has a social disorder which makes her unable to create friends and she might seem cold (she isnt and the show tells u a billion times how she wants a friend group desperately). Both the shows are quite wholesome and have a tinge of romance, albeit my dress up darling has alot more  

main character is kinda boring/generic, most of the character comes from the female 

- features the unsociable to sociable pipeline - romance between a unpopular person and fashionable, popular person - features modeling and clothes-making - Ending song uses simplified, cartoony character animations 

both are fashion theme stories of aspiring models as well as nice art and character designs to look at. 

Different stories but in the same time very similar dynamics. Bisque Doll maybe a bit more coherent and carefully written, but levels of haremness without harem per se, fan service and self-indulgence are about the same. 

At its core, it's essentially the same story, a socialy inept reject gets adopted by a hyperfriendly gyaru and is broken out of his shell during mutual shenenigans. *No cosplay or any hobby, but "normal" friends and activities SOL stuff *Much much more emphasis on social circle *ecchi is up to 11 *relationship is on from ep 1 *Yukana in kind of proto Marin Watch if you want to see what would happen if Gojo never laid eyes on a hina doll, but eventually befriended Marin anyway :)  

Both are popular girl + unpopular guy type of romances, while 3D trying to be more dramatic and relationship oriented show, Doll is more comedic, dynamic and suggestive. 

Both are you're typical Otaku romance story main differences are: 3D Kanojo: -MC is a Huge Otaku -Main Girl isn't an Otaku -Has a subplot with other couples My Dress-Up Darling: -MC isn't an Otaku, makes dolls -Main Girl is the Otaku -So far no other couples introduced 

In both anime there is an introverted character who locks himself into his tastes hiding it from society, and then an extroverted blonde character arrives and helps him to be able to accept himself while understanding that it is not good to hide what you like and be encouraging him in something that society likes. The prota has the illusion to change, the roles are changed but the plot is very similar, in Kisekoi the prota inside wants to stand out making doll clothes and discovers over time that she likes to make clothes, while Kuragehime fashion makes her be more open with what she likes. 

Although these two shows are very different in many ways, the main point of the two are similar. Both are about two people coming together in a once in a lifetime friendship over there love for clothes, fashion, and dressing up. Both have beautiful heart-quenching scenes that just make you squeal for joy and even a little splash of drama (more for princess jellyfish) The absolute love and devotion that is given to a special interest and how others react to it is a big part in both shows. Both main characters are finding people they can be themselves around and show off their true passions.  read more 

If you ship Jirou / Akari you are probably going to love this anime. I love the relationship Jirou and Akari have, and the relationship in this anime is very similar but even more sweet / heartwarming imo. - Marin and Akari are both gyarus with similar personalities - The male MC's are somewhat similar, where they are both unpopular but have a romantic relationship with the popular female lead - Don't let the hina doll hobby of the MC drive you away, I didn't like it at first but ended up loving this show 

Do you like your romance anime with a sprinkle of ecchi in it? Then watch this show. Also, a plus point for those who liked My Dress Up Darling as well. Both show have a similar plot that the main lead and female lead have to deal with a new circumstances that involves both personal exploration and affection 

OK, let's go. I know saying "it's a gyaru" is stupid. But the similarities are enormous. We have a gyary who is blonde and super nice who likes the protagonist and makes lots of teasing and cute jokes. But the protagonist is the problem, the protagonist of "Hokkaido gals are the best!" is a flat, boring guy. Gojo Wakana is a sweet boy, with incredible dreams and deserves romance. Hokkaido girls would live much better if they dated each other. So if you saw "Hokkaido gals are the best!" watch "Dress-up Darling" because it will be much better.

Both are wholesome slice of life anime which have the theme of being true to yourself. The characters are very likeable and feel real, and are very passionate about their hobbies. Otaku related hobbies (anime, manga, cosplay, eroge etc) are featured in both. Marin sorta reminds me of Ohno.  

Both are you're typical Otaku romance story main differences are: Saekano: -MC is a Huge Otaku -animes about making visual novels My Dress-Up Darling: -MC isn't an Otaku, makes dolls -animes about cosplay 

- Both main girl are outgoing, extravert and very kind character - Both involve a man who is nice 

I recommend both of these shows individually, but going from one to the other is a great jumping off point. Both shows are geared more toward the wholesome part of the RomCom spectrum, but it should be no surprise that Dress Up Darling still dips its toes into fan service given the nature of cosplay and what that entails on social media. Despite this, Kaguya and Dress Up Darling are top tier RomComs. One aspect of this recommendation that must not be overlooked is the English Dub for both are really good. I would argue the English Dub for Kaguya is better than the subbed version but that is another argument entirely. The fact is that if you are looking for a good RomCom and also want a series that has an english dub completed, then jumping from either one to the other is an excellent suggestion because they are quality series with quality dubbing jobs. read more 

Similarities - An awkward guy hangs out with an extroverted girl. - The girls are pretty weird in both cases. - They both gradually get to know each other. - Both of the girls also did modeling. - Chemistry is natural and great between the duos. Differences - The girl in Bokuyaba does weird childish things, whereas the girl in My Dress-Up Darling is an otaku cosplayer. - The girl in My Dress-Up Darling realizes her feelings sooner, while Bokuyaba is still slowly developing it. - The guy in Bokuyaba is kind of a nobody, while the guy in My Dress-Up Darling has a skill that makes them meet each other.  

I would recommend this because both follow a story of a boy with a strong passion to create their own forms of art. 

Both of these animes are perfect examples of good otaku romances. Both of these animes feature hints of cosplay as well as discussions over specific animes, but there are a couple of main differences. In Nogizaka, both of the MC's are Otakus, whilst in Dress-Up doll, only the female MC is. Nogizaka also features other segments of the otaku culture, such as Akiharbara and anime conventions. Nogizaka is 28 Episodes, Dress-up doll is 12 episodes. 

They're both romance between a dude who is obsessed with a single hobby (they even look similar) and a hot blonde gyaru girl who's into cosplay and is obsessed with the guy.
