Hello there, fellow men(or women, I don't judge) of culture.
A bit of a late bloomer, tipping toes before but went straight in during the covid lockdown.
Started by having borrowed Neon Genesis Evangelion on 16 CDs in glorious 480p off a college mate in 2003. Shinji and the whole portrail of mentaly ill child soldiers traumatized me to the point I just droped the whole thing for 10 years, baring occasional Ghibli movie. Tried "the usual gateway shows", Death Note, Fullmetal alchemist, Attack on Titan and such, but I found them too "I'm 15 and I'm angry" for my liking. Naruto/ninjas/pirates/something was at its ~432 episode and I was like naahm I got a wife and a life to live.
I watched One Punch Man tho and I thought it was great for parodying the usual shonen nonsense and that was I think my first up-to-date seasonal. I was not hooked yet.
Then watched some robot teen stuff on Netflix and thought that school/slice of life parts were the highlight, not the space fights or robot samurai whatever.
Then I got divorced and I needed emotional diabetes pronto. Recomendations for wholesome emotional damage were Toradora and K-On and I discovered that I really like my anime toast buttered by CGDCT/romcom/slice of life/drama/tsundere-lolis
I started binging during the second year covid lockdown, 2021 fall season, because as a music bussines profesional(grinded to a halt by lockdown) I had nothing better to do. Hollywood was unwatchable and dissapointment from GoT was really fresh. I watched youtube anime memes for years, so I might as well dive in for real. Started on netflix with Komi-san and Blue Peroid, then found out Marin Kitagawa and in 2022 simultaneously started out binging everything CGDCT/romcom/slice of life/drama related for 20 years back and following weekly seasonals. Joined so I can keep up with what I already watched and what I still need to.

I usualy waaay overthink what I'm watching. I guess I kind of like searching for a hidden meaning. So no matter how stupid that isekai is, how trashy the harem, it is important to me what lessons it conveys.
However, I'm not above enjoying The Trash :D
