Kakushigoto

A single caring father raising up a daughter  

Both tell a story of a single man taking care of a child. Wholesome and cute character designs.  

Both shows share similar themes revolving around father-daughter bonding, with lots of precious and feel-good moments between them  

The show is similar with respect to the same single parent(father) and daughter relation which "Usagi drop" is about. The instances of with the girl at small age delivers the same kind of wholesome vibes where the father is trying his best to give her everything and trying not make her fell the lack of her mother. The whole series will be relaxing and wholesome and is a must watch watch for those who like 'Slice of Life' genre  

Kakushigoto explores the familial relationship between a dad and his daughter, while Usagi Drop explores a similar relationship (except the dad is not actually the father). Both are about single, working dads who have to balance out their lives and who love their daughters very much. Both also have some sort of quirk in the families. In Kakushigoto, the father is an erotic mangaka who has to hide it from his daughter. In Usagi Drop, the daughter is actually the "father's" grandfather's illegitimate child. As it looks like, both are designed to be heartwarming, though Kakushigoto is more comedic. 

- Both are about single parents and the struggles/triumphs of parenthood - Both shows manage to weave in heavier themes effortlessly without impacting the uplifting tone 

A single man raising his daughter (I'm refering to the anime, not the manga) Hime reminds me of Rin, especially her playfulness Similar visuals although Kakushigoto is more minimalistic 

Both are heartwarming father-daughter animes. While Usagi Drop centers more on the relatinships and interactions between parents and their kids, Kakushigito contains more comedy and content. If you want a anime that will make your heart melt, then these do it just right. 

Kakushigoto and Usagi Drop presents a daily life of a father and daughter. Both with their own calming experiences, we can observe growth and love as they live together on the same house. It doesn't matter if they are not related directly by blood, as long as they are family, the storytelling for both are touching and heartwarming experiences. 

Both of them tell about the life of a father and his daughter who live without a mother. And both anime plots also focus on the drama of their lives. However, I prefer the kakushigoto. Because, Fell in watching this anime feels more like usagi drop. 

Both explore father-daughter dynamics (though Usagi Drop is slightly different) Both girls have similar temperaments, are a mix of mature and childlike (i.e. VERY easy to like and not annoying at all, even though they're young) Both have an underlying message about parenthood and each have a different take on 'growing up'  

both are single dads raising a younger child. Ive been told not to read the Usagi Drop manga haha. But they both have amazing lessons.  

Both are comedic and light-hearted though Kakushigoto reveals more underlying themes/secrets throughout the anime while Barakamon inches to the end of the plot. Barakamon's MC is a calligrapher while Kakushigoto's MC is an erotic mangaka. Both are nurturing a child, in Barakamon, the child borders on being mischievous and is overly playful whereas in Kakushigoto, the child is the biological daughter of the MC, is reliable, and obedient. 

Similar themes, light-hearted but yet some super serious moments that hit you in the heart. 

- Both have an older guy raising and caring about a young girl - The guy is some kind of artist in both - Similar fast-paced type of humor - Both have dramatic and tearjerking moments 

Wholesome, warm and tearjerkers. Both animes display a fatherly figure and love for audiences and boy do they both have a good ending.  

- Both main characters are artists and they want to be better at what they do - Both main characters have a little girl on their side - Both main characters start learning new things. - Both animes are slice of life and comedy - Both animes have interesting side characters - Both protagonists have their secret, but in Barakamon it is not a very important. - Both protagonists learn something about life from their younger girls  

Both are about an adult trying to bond (in a normal and not degenerate way) with a young girl wich ways of enjoying life will change their view of the world. Slice of life about adults character nowadays are kinda uncommon, since most of them revolve around high school characters and school life: in those two anime, you have a fully grown adult with a career and a life: in those cases, they are artists trying to live a normal life in a world where art-related career are both loved and hated. Both anime have a nice art style, a slow-peaced plot and absolutely nothing out of the ordinary, so they are the perfect embodiment of a slice of life. read more 

Both of them are a good slice of life anime where a struggling artist is helped by people around them, especially children.  

Both raise a younger child. Both are comedy-focused too. Both have writing in similar. Kakushigoto the dad is a manga author trying to hide it from the daughter while Barakamon the guy us a calligrapher but instead he openly shows it and teaches it to the island.  

In both series, we watch the story of father and daughter whose mothers are dead. Again, in both series, the father attaches great importance to his daughter.

both shows have a father and daughter as the main focus and they're both pretty wholesome and cute. the mom is also not present in both of them.  

Both fathers are widows and have a child, plus another unmarried friend who helps take care of the child. 

Not only are the protagonists similar, both voiced by Kamiya Hiroshi and with almost identical designs, but some of the side characters in Kakushigoto also look a lot like characters from Zetsubou-sensei, often sharing surnames or having names that are anagrams of the names of Zetsubou-sensei characters. The style of humor is pretty similar, and Kakushigoto also has some drama. 

Shares the same original creator and voice actor for the main character. They have a similar style and tone, both being gag manga.  

Same author, same voice actor for the mc, same art style, same commedy. One is cute and melancholic, other not so much. Its possile that if you have seen Zetsubou Sensei first, Kakushigoto could be a bit creepy for you at first. Just imagine, Zetsubou Sensei but cute and colourful... ugh, super creepy. 

they're both made by kumeta kouji so the jokes and humor are fairly similar, but the biggest difference is the fact that zetsubou sensei was done by shaft, so zetsubou sensei is a lot more abstract 

Definitely was inspired by this one: protagonist (appearance, VA, behavior), art style (at least I can see some resemblance) and humor in some ways (in Kakushigoto it's a lot more tamed tho). I mean they even joke about it in one episode. 

Similar melt your heart Father Daughter love and general comedic wholesomeness. Watch them both if you want to reignite your hope in humanity and want to purify your hearts.

Both are shows in the semi specific "single father raises child and bonds with them" genre. More than that, both are very cute and heartwarming in the main story but have hints that tragedy lurks around the corner.  

Heartwarming yet painful series that focuses on the premise of a paternal bond between a father and his daughter, the daughter who yearns to learn the world while her father has something to hide that is a bitter truth. If you are curious about it, then go ahead and discover it for yourself. On the other hand, the ambiance between the two differs as "SomaliMori" focuses more on drama, world-building, and fantasy aspects, whereas "Kakushigoto" is a standard slice of life anime consisting of both drama and comedy. Nevertheless, both are fun and interesting to watch as they primarily present the same concept. 

Both follow the story of people pursuing manga careers. Bakuman focuses on high school characters while Kakushigoto focuses on adult male. Both are fun to watch and are more comedy based. 

Both stories that show case the lives of manga creators with an emotionally resonant story. 

Both have that same father and daughter themed anime, where the dad is in the business of writing publication that were just too mature for youngsters to read and a daughter who has to dot on their father with the everyday chores. 

Mangaka. Kakushigoto and Monthly Girls' have peculiar mangaka, they are in no ordinary position too. With one man in the centre of the comedic chaos that erupts, life is a very interesting story to tell for these two men. Kakushigoto follows the life of Goto-sensei and how his perverted manga must be hidden from his innocent daughter, Hime. In comparison to the more mischievous world of Monthly Girls, Nozaki finds himself in a wide array of people associated with him as he tries to make his manga. With a serious undertone to separate the two. I would still recommend both Kakushigoto and Monthly Girls as good comedy anime. Monthly Girls is borderline parody compared to a sincere Kakushigoto.  read more 

Both about single father raising a daughter, both has a top tier comedy, both are wholesome. 

Sometimes the comedy element is almost the same when in the story they carry out their work. Both are very supportive if you're curious about manga or anime making, as each series focuses on one of them. 

Safeguard. Kakushigoto and Higehiro follow a "mature" old man trying to safeguard that which is important to him. Kakushigoto does this with Goto-sensei lying his way through life to keep his daughter Hime safe from the dangers of his reality. Higehiro is a bit more controversial, but it follows Sayu, a runaway high schooler, who ends up living with Yoshida due to the dangers of the outside world and how that poses a threat to her. In a world where the innocent are of no exception to the forces of evil, the two anime go around what it means to have to protect someone else and how far one with said actions. Life is no joke. Obviously, Higehiro is the more controversial contender between itself and Kakushigoto. One must also understand that by disregarding those controversial themes, the two still do well to some degree in pushing forward to the viewer their ideas and execution. Many would recommend Kakushigoto over Higehiro though. Still, both are good dramas respectively.  read more
