You're the only person I've seen with an actual good explanation for giving sonny boy a bad rating nice

The scores for season 5 are low because it adapted a dull arc and went really lazy in animation with the better arc

Hello, I’m glad my review helped you push Gangsta. further up your watch list! I’ve actually tried watching 91 Days but eventually dropped it lmao, but i’ll definitely try watching it again. Thanks for the recommendation :))

Sry, little late everyone is on vacation and i got all the shifts on work >:(

I usually have nothing against these typical characters who are rather calm. The problem with Haru for me was that he didn't even look like the protagonist. Everyone from his group and the other swim teams had a lot more charisma, dialogues and personality than he did. He, on the other hand, often pissed and pissed at someone for various personal reasons. I watched the anime with my girlfriend and from then on we had an insider gag by constantly saying "Betsuni" or how to write it out of context because he couldn't get anything else out of his mouth.
His goal for the next few seasons also had hardly any impact for me, I'm still not sure whether he wants to win or not after season 3.

Ahh the storm episode ahhh, the Sharknado part of the anime scene. I love the structure of this episode! Suddenly you learn from Makoto's background (I think it was his name) that he is afraid of the sea. His fear is somehow understandable because he was a child at the time, but could hardly really convince, was overdramatized. But as soon as you found out about the background, I said "let me guess, they're going to the sea in this episode" and WOW, they're going to the sea! And what does he do? He goes swimming in the middle of the night, coping well with trauma. But wait, the plot storm has suddenly announced itself. Didn't you check the weather forecast? And then another strong storm that Makoto didn't even notice how the waves got stronger? When you noticed the storm and everyone woke up, there were waves 1-2 meters high and he was dying. It was only a slice of life episode, but I would only accept such a sequence in a parody, it was almost as if the author had tried 1. to kidnap him by suddenly spawning a storm. 2. He wanted the scene behind him quickly.
That was one of the longest double episodes of my life, although mostly only the first part was written catastrophically, the second when they got stranded was average.

I will really have to watch the films, is it actually finished by now? Quit Free a year ago, some films hadn't come out then.
This anime is at least very relaxing, I have to give him that. You can look at it well by simply eating something on the side and you're done, it's not a deterrent. I just wish they had been more bothered with the dialogues in season 1. I watched all 3 seasons one after the other and noticed how it got better. Season 3 was written far differently than the first, each character looking so much more natural and realistic.

Nice Toradora review, The majority of your issues with this show were the same as mine. You're about to get the gang on your case about how the show is perfect romance when the MC does a 180 at the end.

I'll thank you for the compliment. If you want to start a conversation, it's better to do it without a nail and hammer.

"Blue Spring Ride" is actually unknown to me. Maybe I should take a look at it to broaden my horizons in the romance genre. Still, I saw an enormous handful of these well-known Shoujou titles that were rated quite subtle. In comparison, Toadora seemed at least like a more realistic melodramatic romance. The characters weren't anything worth mentioning except for the protagonist, but the way the relationship was built was really worth mentioning, even if, as you said, it was extremely obvious.
To be honest, in the end I didn't find this ship real enough. The two characters liked each other ok, but I barely felt any real connection between them. They might as well have been best friends.

I understand, you just like some works a lot more than others. At first I am also very impressed by some titles and only notice their shortcomings after months. A good example would be "Oregairu" since you know him too. It's by far one of my favorites in the Slice of Life genre and I like the characters, the conversation and the atmosphere. After a lot of thought, I had to box its rating down from 9/10 to 6/10 after finding so many mistakes and idiotic behavior patterns among the characters. Honestly, it hurts me to criticize this anime in the first place, but it has so much irrelevant content in the end. And seasons 2 and 3 drag on and just don't want to get to the point.

With Free I was on the right foot from the start, probably because the Free had nothing apart from the animations that blinded me so that I overlooked the negative properties. First and foremost, I hated "Haru", really hated it. Except "It's nothing -Betsuni-" or as he always said it, until season 3 he had hardly any dialogue unless he was back through puberty. And that 50% of their conversations consisted of "I want to swim with you" - in different versions, almost knocked me out after 3 seasons. I got it, they like to swim. But wanting to share it for 24/7 is scary.

And what killed me the most was the storm episode. You may still know them from the first season when they were training by the sea and a storm separated them in the sea? This episode could be Sharknado in anime format. It had by far the worst structure I have ever seen.
But to be honest, I actually didn't think season 3 was that bad. It was average, but it had more personality and detail than its two predecessors. I haven't seen the films yet. The problem is that with such sports titles you should focus more on the characters when there is hardly any story. "Kuroko no Basket" made the same mistake, but there the implementation was at least still acceptable.

Sry for all the text.

About your "Toradora" Review, which Romance Anime would you call actually good? I don't see Toradora as amazing, but it was decent. I watched many known Romance Titles and this one had still some character and the build up was fine. It was obvious and cliche, but they did the Genre well enough. Maybe I still miss experience with "Romance" Genre after all, but I for myself can consider Toradora to be one of the best Romance Titles yet.

Also another topic, I am really curious.

How did "Free" end up so high on your List, since you were really critical with Oregairu and Toradora. However I see it, the Animations are beautiful. But Free hat probably some of the worst wirten scenes, dialogues, and characters in overall. They turned out better in Season 3 but S1 and S2 was almost painfully. When we watched it, I had to pause each Episode 5 times to talk about what we actually watched.

Excellent review on Oregairu, the show is criminally overrated and is seriously pretentious for the crappy, not deep whatsoever, one-dimensional character filled bundle of terribly written high school drama, drama that in itself is SO unnecessary. I had to drop the show midway through the second season because it felt like it was written by a forty-year-old man who decided to throw in a bunch of his personal fantasies (WOW! Another boy that looks JUST like a girl!) and tie it up with a pessimistic, self-deprecative main character that most watchers have gobbled up and decided as the best romance/comedy/slice of life protagonist because he's "so realistic."

Really?

"Oh, well it's because we want to see him succeed since he always puts others first before himself."

Yeah, he's a poorly written masochist that tries to FORCE us to sympathize with him.

"Oh, well the show isn't really a romance. LOL have you not read the title?"

Ok, fair enough. Then what is it? Comedy? Hell no. Drama? A shitty one, yes. A waste of time, also yes.

Sorry for the rant, your review reminded me of how much that show sucks. Have a good day ツ
