Slice of life, comedy. Minami-ke is probably better when it comes to comedy since the jokes are too obvious (the comedy in Lucky Star is related to anime and you need to have watched quite a lot to get all those). Oh yea, Lucky Star is much more slice of life than comedy (and vice versa with Minami-ke). In short, i enjoyed Minami-ke a bit more but they are both highly recommended if you are a fan of the genre .

While Ichigo Mashimaro was able to maintain its innocent humor across many releases, Minami-ke's first season was the only successful attempt at a funny slice-of-life anime of that particular franchise. They share the same humorous elements and can provide you with many minutes of laughter. I recommend you quit watching Minami-ke after the first season to avoid disappointment.

Same atmosphere and comedy but DKnN is with boys and Minami-ke is with girls. If you like one, you will like the other.

Both are from the same genre - slice of life/comedy, and both tell the story in similar ways, using short segments throughout each episode to explore different parts of the characters lives. Both are hilarious, and both are a must watch.
report Recommended by GeneralCox
Both are comedy, slice-of-life anime, with a focus on a family of 3 sisters. Each individual has a stereotypic personality, which you can pretty much predict their responses/interactions to different situations. Both series will make you laugh out loud.

Both slice of life anime with similar humour and pace. If you like one i suppose you would like the other

Both main female leads are very childish and similar in more then one ways. Also they both have mature sisters. Slice of Life and school type anime aswell.

Very similar animation style and humor , both have great characters

Both are as similar as Facebook to Hi5, or Democrat to Republican. The shows are brushed up with similar art-direction, almost pastel color choice, character design, pace, and genre. The real example of style-parody. When someone say in easy English "the art is similar" this is what they mean, mostly because both shows share some staffs. Style-parody is not exactly a right word, they are officially sharing art-direction. Genre similarity is also difficult to overlook. They are slice-of-life comedic show with heavy effort on showing the relationship of sub-character with the main cast (Minami family/ four main Yuruyuri girls.) The original manga presents them both as a circle,  read more

the randomness is somewhat similar and so is the humour

Similar setting and similar relaxed atmosphere, SOL and girls, though Minami-Ke has a longer cast.

Anyone can run a production system for bullets since they are made to be exactly the same. However, only gifted script writers can produce infinite amount of conversation that always do a clean shot at your laughing nervous system. Nichijou and Minami-Ke make jokes with words. This two shows are wordy I can't deny that, but they are still pretty funny even after translation. That make a potential comedy that can air anywhere in the world. While Japanese comedy anime have a lot of overacting used to deliver jokes (even the prestigious Gintama go overacting very often,) Nichijou doesn't rely much on them (there are still  read more

Both have a simple & slow plot that very easy to understand, and they're both about the daily life of the main characters.

almost identical laid-back atmosphere, concentrating on the way people life and their relations with each other. not much development in both, same kind of humour. also, nagi reminded me of kana

The similarity of these two series are focus on the three main characters revolving in their daily lives on just normal activities. Not much of a story, but is mostly around the comedy, and funny characters interacting with each other. Finding an easygoing comedy shows, then this will be your answer Minami-Ke follows the daily lives of the Minami sisters who are in different grades, age, and school. Yuyushiki follows the daily lives of three high school students who joined a club and interact with each other.

Both are simple anime where there isn't much of story to be told throughout the entire anime. They both have simple sketches in which they add humor in and usually every episode consist of multiple sketches. They both “something” in multiple scenarios. For example, Acchi Kocchi it’s Tsumiki crush on Io, and in Minami-ke it’s Makoto’s cross-dressing. And final (although most don’t consider this to be a reason to watch an anime) both anime have similar openings

Both series' humor is based on very specific traits and inner jokes of Japanese culture and often needs deep understanding of it in order to fully enjoy all references.
report Recommended by ChitOKun
Yoshiko (Aho Girl) has a lot of similarities to Kana Minami (Minami-Ke), both are what we can call as "idiot hero" tropes.
report Recommended by GiancarloLS
A few references in Minami Ke refer to Pani Poni Dash. Both revolve around girls in grade school. Hilarity ensues in both shows as well.
report Recommended by Ranivus
Minami-ke has a similar art style and the characters share similar dispositions. Chiaka hitting Kana reminds me of Riko and Maki. Riko constantly points out whats wrong with everything as Maki does something stupid. Kana and Chiaki do pretty much the same. Uchida and Makoto are similar to Tanahashi with their klutzy behavior. The theme songs are also similar. I think the main difference would be plot. Love Lab's plot is trying to understand love. Minami-ke is just the daily life of the Minami sisters, and is pretty much plotless.

Plastic Nee-san and Minami-ke are both comedy anime pertaining to three sister's and their sisterly shenanigans. Both are great laughs.
report Recommended by josenewtype
Both shows have cute girls and are pretty funny, they are also split into a few short stories in each episode, which reflects both mangas they are adapted from.

Minami-ke and Mayo Chiki positively express both comedy and relationships. These anime share very similar genres and energetic characters. Along with that, they are both fairly light-hearted comedies with more emphasise on comedy.

Same Laid back Daily Lives with Lot of Comedy and Slapsticks..

If you liked Minami-ke, you will probably like Kimi to Boku. Both stories don't really have a plot, they're just about several characters and how they spend their time. While Minami-ke is about 3 sisters, Kimi to Boku is about 5 male friends. Both are very humorous.
report Recommended by kyochan03
Both are heartwarning stories about cute siblings living together with a lot of comedy involved.
report Recommended by DankSgt
both pretty much have the same thing going on: sisters only having each other to depend on, money issues, arguing and making up, and younger siblings worrying about the oldest leaving them. each are enjoyable series that will make you either laugh or feel sad depending on the situation.
report Recommended by momosemomo
Milky Holmes actually does have a plot, no matter how wimpy and lame. Both contain a sort of moe theme as it is the relationship of a group of girls who make bad puns, and get locked into stupid situations that just don't make sense. While the anime themselves are fairly different, the comedy is very similar.
report Recommended by Mythical_Truth
Both are slice-of-life comedies focusing mainly on the lives of those living in one particular household. Both have a predominantly female cast though with a few important male characters. Also there is a male character in both shows who must cross-dress in order to be allowed into the household where the women live. A difference between them would be that Kuragehime actually has a plot and romantic progression, while Minami-ke focuses more on day-to-day activities and never advances the romance aspects.

Sisters. I suppose, I for one, cannot directly relate, but if I had to compile the features of what life was like for sisters (in a fictional perspective), Nekopara and Minami-ke would tell me that they are mostly made up of fun, joyful, and funny moments, because that is what the two anime are. With ramifying routes as Nekopara is set in a maid cafe with literal catgirls, compared to the fairly standard quality of life in Minami-ke, they both still know how to make for a good s.o.l type show, ticking off all the boxes in a relaxed atmosphere, funny moments, other characters doing stuff  read more

It might seem like an odd recommendation, but considering how both are centred around an eccentric family and their comedic moments in what is their daily life, I thought I'd relate the two. Whilst Hinamatsuri for sure isn't anything like Minami-ke in realism, they both have an understanding in the chill atmosphere that can sometimes have its sporadically hilarious moments. Hinamatsuri doing this with psychics and yakuza, Minami-ke with a life a lot like yours and mine. Good anime for those looking for a pretty good comedy of their generation.

Trio. Although Minami-ke and Eizkouen have their major differences, both do follow a trio of girls in their lives together filled with funny and interesting moments to spare. Minami-ke does that with the Minami sisters daily lives, Eizouken does this with the Eizouken club forming in order to create an anime as a goal. Both are pretty funny s.o.l comedy anime I would give a go, I recommend Eizouken more but Minami-ke is still pretty funny in it's own right. Another thing to add is that Eizouken does have a main goal to it compared to a semi-episodic Minami-ke. All in all, a fun trip with both.

Minami-ke and Konosuba both feel similar disregarding physical separations. They both are centred around a group of people who go on with their daily antics and frolics and other mayhem they may encounter. Minami-ke does this with the real world setting consisting of the Minami sister trio. Konosuba does this with the quartet and their "quest" to defeat the demon king. All of the main individuals have a trait unique to them, making for some loveable and memorable characters for the long run of both anime. Both are good comedy anime with Minami-ke being a s.o.l, with a school as a sub-setting, Konosuba being a parody on  read more

Leisure time as a student is always one that gives around good laughs and joy. Minami-ke and Airua both follow this same concept with friend circles going around and causing all types of different fun things to do with one another. Minami-ke also uses the family of Minami sisters compared to Aiura, just a group of friends. Both are good s.o.l comedy anime that I would imagine bring a laugh to many of those who watch them.

It's simply about comedy and slice of life as well!

Both shows keep a very mild and relaxing tone, occasionally making jokes and misunderstandings. If you liked how calm Flying Witches was you should definitely check out Minami-ke.

Both are school comedies that primarily feature female characters but also include a couple important male characters. Every time I saw Kotone in Softenni, I thought of Kana from Minami-ke because they have a very similar character design and are also both very energetic. Minami-ke focuses more on daily life, while Softenni is more concerned with tennis. Softenni has much more fanservice, but it is often used for comedic purposes.
report Recommended by ccorn
Both are comedies that are directed by Masahiko Oota. They evolve around the daily lives of the cast, and the situations that occur between the characters. The main characters are female, and much of the other cast too. There are similarities in character design, and traits. Some bullying is included, but not to the point it made me mad. I even laughed about it. If you want to watch cute girls doing cute, mean or funny things, both titles may be for you.

The trio. The loveable trio. Each trio consisting of characters of, whilst generic, fun and loveable personalities, Minami-ke and Hanamaru both use this to their advantage to create some pretty funny and playful moments in their respective worlds. That's all there is to them, I suppose Hanamaru takes this further with it being in the "learning fundamentals" period of life, in comparison to the varied school life of the 3 sisters, going through what youth is really all about and the people they spend time with doing such feats. Good comedy anime, I suppose they aren't the best thing in the world but do not let that  read more

Both Mimami ke and Ouran will make you laugh time and again. They are funny, can be poignant at times, are mostly random though Ouran does have something of a plot. Though they are not entirey similar (no anime can be), if you like one then there is a high chance you will enjoy the other.

Minami-ke and Kaguya-sama: Love is War are comedy series that derives its humour from the main characters interacting with each other. Minami-ke is more a comedic, casual slice of life. Kaguya-sama: Love is War is more a romantic comedy using sketches. Neither series have a real storyline so everything depends on the comedy. You're sure to enjoy.

Minami-ke and Asobi Asobase are comedy series featuring three girls and their antics. Minami-ke is more a comedic, casual slice of life. Asobi Asobase is more of a sketch comedy with some pretty crazy takes. Physical comedy is a big part of both series, but you'll also have a laugh from the different personalities interacting with each other.
report Recommended by lancelot200
The art style is completely different, but apart from that the series are quite similar. Both are about the daily life of 3 sisters, only in the case of Uchi no 3 shimai they are a bit younger and rather than friends and other family members it's their parents "suffering" from them. Both series are really funny and light hearted imho.

Both slice of life, random stuff anime. And they both revolve around a group of girls. The humour is also very similar.

Verbally abusive and virtually illogical dialog visualized in the cutest way possible (respectively). Japanese-style animated talk shows you are looking for.

My Neighbors the Yamadas and Minami-ke are comedic, casual slice of life anime centered on the family dynamics. Many viewers will relate to the Yamada family with their multi-generational household. This realism is an important component of its comedy. Minami-ke is a more standard anime with popular character tropes compared to My Neighbors the Yamadas. What ultimately matters is you will laugh watching either anime.

If you've watched anime like Minami-ke and Lucky Star, then Manabi Straight would be a good choice to watch for another "slice of life" anime. Seiyuus of Konata popularly known from Haruhi (Lucky Star,) and Kana (Minami-ke,) as well as many other well knwo VAs are in this comedic anime.

Okay... this might be a wacky recommendation, but I kind of think you'd like one if you like the other. They're both slice of life comedies that focus on absurd and hilarious exaggerations of mundane events in clever and surprising ways. Sure, one is about sisters and the other is about delinquents, but still... maybe you'd like it?
report Recommended by lowell
Similar style of humour, follows the lives of high school girls in an every day setting, albeit Hyakko focuses more on school than home like Minami-ke does.

both very funny, good characters, and thecomedy is smart/clever/fun/

Gintama is also randomness but with less innocent cute humor...much less actually, but humor is humor, nevermind how dirty it is XD if you can laugh at it you're having fun.

Fluffy random slice of life comedy. Kana and Ichika also have similar chara design. But the most important point is triangle/water-drop-shaped mouths. So if you like waterdrop-shape mouth you should try these anime.

similar on how the art is drawn in the characters. Minami-ke is better quality though, and dosent have a similar plot line.
report Recommended by Nikoru-san
Both are slice of life animes and really good too. Minami-ke focuses a little more on comedy and nothing bad ever happens but when you watch it you still get the same feeling. It's like watching ordinary people in their every day life.

Comedic daily life of a family of sisters living by themselves.
report Recommended by myrrhman
Both are about three sisters with parents missing, family happiness, sisters and brothers, boys and girls. Then connection seemingly ends, with "Minami-ke" being mostly a school comedy, much lighter and cleaner, but the two are somehow congenial.
report Recommended by Xenesz
Both series has a lot of comedy in them, both has a "baka" character in them, one of the main characters has someone liking him and he/she doesn't realize it(kana&fujioka, akhisa&himeji), both has school in them, and main characters in both are living withought their parents. If you like comedy, and like one of the series, you should enjoy the other one.
report Recommended by Exold
The similarity is the main characters personality: the perfect words to describe Minami Kana (Minami-ke) and Onimaru Miki (Muteki Kanban Musume) is: 'totally idiot!' They always come up whith crazy ideas. And the idiots gather more idiots, it's doesn't matter if it's a young boy, who want to buy a bra or a dog with high fighting skills.
report Recommended by chiaki-sama
Several of the characters are very similar in looks and in personality. The teddy bear is in both, Kana is like the high-energy Mikan, Touma is like Natsume, Chiaki is like Hotaru, and the list goes on for similarities. Mikan and Hotaru are best friends and fight exactly like Kana and Chiaki. Aside from the characters the only other thing similar is that they are both comedies.
