Minami-ke

Like watching some eventful daily life of average anime girls? These two titles are for you. One is very laid back with extreme reference to today's real life Japanese society and the other is done in chapters-styled episode involving random activities. 

Both are slice-of-life, episodic comedies with mostly female characters (though minami-ke has more male characters).  

They're both comedies and slice of life shows and they're both very random and funny. Lucky Star is a lot more 'laid back' though, while Minami-ke isn't as 'laid back'. Also, Lucky Star has several references to the Japanese culture and to several anime. 

Both these animes are just random & hilarious. There isn't any plot for both of them but the story centres around daily conversations & interactions between the characters of the show. Lucky Star already ended & IMO the most worthy anime to fill the place left by Lucky Star would be Minami-ke. 

Hmmmmmm, Both Of These Shows Have The Same Insaness ^^ 

Both anime concentrates on a few girls' life. It's like watching the life of some random girls, only that it's not in real life. Both are funny and hilarious, and there's no plot for both of the anime.  

The two anime are quite alike in spirit and humor. However, Lucky Star is more childish while Minami-ke is more mature even though it shares the same weird sense of humor that'll make you smirk to the very last moment of the series. 

Both of these series are hilarious. One follows the daily life of three young sisters, the other follows the daily life of four high school girls and their friends. And there's no plot besides that XD Both are very random and fun to watch. Lucky Star does a lot of parodying of other anime and has a more slice if life aspect, but both series are still incredibly similar. I'm pretty sure if you enjoyed one, you'd enjoy the other XD

Slice of Life, Comedy, Minami-ke is a great and very funny anime with epic characters! great art style, very similar to Lucky Star because of its Comedy. ;D

Well, both are slice-of-life stories that center simple day to day activities. Both are very entertaining and fun to watch. 

They both portray the everyday life of girls They both are comedy's and they're both awesome 

Absolutely no plot other than the main character's everyday lives. 

Both of these anime are just to watch for something relaxing and for a good laugh,they feature multiple characters and have a soft artstyle and have a story mostly centred around a group of friends messing around. There's nothing extreme or serious going on and neither of these series take themselves seriously so both are good to watch when you just want to have a laugh.

The daily lives of the girls activities, either it is moe, cute, or random funny moments. The story is slice of life comedy focusing on the girls activity, usually an all female cast doing something fun. Not much of a story, but you will find them a likable cast until the end of the show. Lucky star, follows the daily lives of four high school students doing what they do best and basically a lot of popular culture. Minami-Ke follows the daily lives of three sisters who goes to different grade schools and often have a large cast.  

Both are SOL, comedy and school genre, and both are funny as fuck. Both depict the daily school lives of girls (mainly high school) and the unique "evolution" that comes after that. 

Similar characters. Both are very cute, funny slice of lifes. 

The two shows have a similar brand of humor that searches out the absurdity and silliness of every day life. There's just something about the timing and style of each that reminds you of the other in a good way. I was laughing out loud during both of these shows and would definitely recommend you watch the other if you liked one! XD 

Both "slice of life" with some similar characters (i.e: Miu = Kana), same comedy style and both very funny! 

Enjoyed the style of the humour from Ichigo Mashimaro and can't find something similar? Minami-ke is a series that works in a similar way, both of them are simply the daily lifes of a small group of people, in this case the Minami sisters. The presentation of humour is rather similar to that of Ichigo Mashimaro, nothing over the top, but enough to get a chuckle out of certain scenes. The Minami sisters are also quite similar to those found in Ichigo Mashimaro; Chiaki is very similar to Chika, though she's the youngest of the sisters. She easily gets annoyed by her older sister Kana who has major similarities to Miu. Kana likes to be childish and annoy her youngest sister and is usually a silly even at school, getting low grades and being scolded by Chiaki. Then there's Haruka, the eldest who practically watches out for the two quite similar to Nobue though she isn't exactly laid back. Each episode (so far) is presented with what the sister's do during there days, life at school, life at home and the interactions they have with people or each other which kind of works like Ichigo Mashimaro. If you've watched both Ichigo Mashimaro TV series and OVA and looking for something of similar humour and presentation, then I reccomend Minami-ke. read more 

Slice of life comedy series based around a group of still in school girls. (They lie about Nobue in the anime version she IS 16)... Just less loli in Minami-ke.

Two very funny "slice of life" comedies about cute girls doing cute things. 

One reason is random storyline but the main reason is between our main characters of miu-chan and kana. Total idiots, ruining peoples life throwing tantrum, can there be more a like characters? 

A comedic look at the everyday lives of a group of girls, delivered with excellent comic timing. 

Both have similar humor and are about lives of girls and whatnot. 

same concept, but with 4 elementary school girls and a older sister in college in ichigo mashimaro and 3 sisters and their friends in Minami-ke 

Both are great comedy shows with funny and interesting character and have a similar type of humour. Also Kana's antics kind of reminded me of Mio. 

Similar humor and characters, Kana and Miu both playing the role of the annoying funny girl that plays pranks all the time, never acting seriously.  

Both equally funny in terms of overall; Characters - equally cute and funny; And is also slice-of-life. (:

(These are often funnier then typical moe shows) -similar kind of humour (finding humour in every day life) -similar characters (If you liked Kana, you'll probably like Miu) -same idea of younger girl characters with an older sister type character looking after them Over all, I've seen so many other moe shows, and these two are the most similar to one another. They are both great in their own ways. They are cute AND funny. <3  

A particular brand of straight-faced idiocy that descends into madness after long enough. Both have similarities in their styles of humor, serious-faced cut ins, and tone of "daily school life of a bunch of people one step removed from sanity." 

Comedy, comedy, and comedy with a bit of slice-of-life of course. Both series will try to get the viewers to laugh through parody.  

They are both slice of life comedy themed animes. The characters are funny and each of them has different qualities which makes the show perfect in both series. The atmosphere is almost the same. In Danshi Koukousei, it's about three high schooler boys and their friends while it's three sisters and the people around them in Minami-ke. Both are likeable are both male and female watchers.

Minami-ke and Danshi Koukousei no Nichijou are just animes you want to watch for a pointless laugh at wide range of characters and the way they can turn simple every day activities into something hilarious Danshi Koukousei no Nichijou is only twelve episodes with one special whilst Minami-Ke has four seasons and one OVA. Both anime feel like a breath of fresh air after watching many serious anime or ones riddled with clichés. If you prefer a coherent story with lots of character development then neither of these are for you. If you're just getting into anime or you want to have a break from anime that take themselves too seriously then give both of these a go. read more

A similar spoof that revolves around daily lives of students; Danshi Koukousei no Nichijou=Males, Minami-ke=Females. Both series are fun to watch. 

Both series involve a group of 3 individuals of the same gender, going about their daily lives. Both series' are also more skit/episodic based, as opposed to story driven. The comedy is also similar in both series, as it can be heavily exaggerated  

Both are High School comedic animes. Danshi focuses on boys and school life while Minami K is more home life.  

Slice-of-Life with a bunch of unique school girls of varying hilarious personalities. Lazy writing means if you don't like one character you'll probably like another. Later on you can talk about it with your friends. "I like ____ more!! They are so much more funny!" Great conversation starters these anime are! 

Very similar style of the slice of life genre. Similar art, music, and characters. 

Minami-ke seems to draw stylistically from Azumanga Daioh in several ways. In short, if you loved Azumanga, then this enjoyable clone takes the formula of a character-driven narrative and throws in male characters. Kana (the middle sister of the Minami household) in particular seems heavily inspired by Azumanga Daioh. If you ever wondered what it would be like if Yukari and Tomo had a child this series is worth a watch. 

Humour is the same with school and life stories. Each episode is divided by different and small hilarious stories. 

Both doesn't rely on parodies or referencing other anime shows for comedy,they both usually depending on the wacky and eccentric characters. 

Both are slice-of-life comedies primarily about girls in school. They both rely on comedic timing as well, but Minami-ke's jokes tend to be a bit more mean at times. 

In short, it's the exact sort of crazy humour that is in Azumanga Daioh, but unlike other similar titles like Lucky Star (which I still think is really good) it doesn't actually feel like a direct clone. Sure, in a sense it's just sisters instead of highschool friends, but it's enough to make it feel fresh and allows it to have the same genre and style as Azumanga without feeling like a rip-off. I don't really see how anyone could enjoy Azumanga and not enjoy this really. 

Not only are both of them slice of "school" life anime but both focus more on the tiny aspects of life rather than the characters that lots of other slice of life animes seem to do. The difference is that minami-ke only deals with tiny aspects of life (in a hilarious way), whereas Azumanga Daioh is less realistic.  

Both of them have the same outlook of the story. the slice of life genre and comedy :D anyway, watch it and see the the similarities .  

Both are High School girl animes. Both are quite the comedies. Minami K focuses more on the home life while Azumanga Daioh is more School Life. 

Comedy, slice of life, scenario based and can be adventerous are a trate both anime's share, aswell as the character types; the fact that both revolve around three very different sisters for a start: - The oldest is a ring leader; in Minami-Ke, the oldest is said to be an ex gang memeber, whilst in Mitsudome, the oldest 'leads her class' and can be quite sinister - The middle sister in both series's is hyperactive - The youngest is quite intellectual, yet socially awkward, wears a aloff expression and is fairly quiet  

Both have similar styles of humor. Mitsudomoe goes more along the ecchi line of things whereas Minami-ke follows a more straight up Slice of Life humor. 

Linked by a name and a common environment, separated by the rest. Masahiko Ohta directs these two animations that portrays the daily lives of three so different sisters. "Minami-ke" is well-behaved, familiar, slow, a true "slice-of-life" that if it doesn't generate many laughs, at least can give the viewer a good amount of light and warm stories. In turn, the restless "Mitsudomoe" is often inconvenient and controversial with his heavy and questionable jokes of sexual nature, made ​​around sixth grade students - but it is hugely funny at the same time that is so wrong, "Mitsudomoe" and "Minami-ke" are so opposite that in the end this recommendation may fail in what is its purpose: create a link between two similar works. Mitsudomoe and Minami-ke centers around the everyday life of three sisters, all of them with totally different personalities. Mitsudomoe is MUCH more twisted and dirtier than Minami-ke. Minami-ke has much more depth both in plot and carachters. 

Both animes are slice-of-life comedies about three very different sisters.  

3 girls and 3 girls both are siblings.. talks about everyday life and hilarious jokes.. 

A sister trio that only knows of making life fun as a trio. There's no boring day for the Minami or Marui sisters. Everything is filled with some kind of wild event, trying to make the most out of life. It's all the same business in both anime. School is funny. People coming over is funny. Interacting is funny. Mitsudomoe however is more surreal and crazy with what it pulls compared to Minami-ke's relatively tame and real life of sisters living with one another. Take what you will, they are still both goof school comedies, quite episodic too.  

Atmosphere. Character design. Comedy. Light-heartedness. Characters with strange and interesting personalities. That's all I can really say.  

They are both slice-of-lice anime. Characters in both anime are such a "character," and you can predict how they will interact in certain situations. Both anime have relaxing atmosphere. 

Same art style, animation. Random personalities and lighthearted comedy. when i watched very first episode its remind me Minami-ke. both are very good series. 

Both anime series have an element of comedy and randomness in the episodes, following the daily lives of the characters and their relationships with each other. Both have a similar pacing: comfortable, without any fast pacing. Minami-ke basically focuses on the three sisters while Working!! on the part time workers at Waqnaria. In both all the characters have varied personalities with defining features. The visuals are also similar with both having bright colours. If you like one then it is highly probably you'll like the other as well.  

very funny, revolves around several main characters and doesn't really follow a set storyline 

Similar lead characters, both school based comedies, though School Rumble is closer to the romance comedy spectrum. 

You may find the characters very similar (Kana ~~ Tenma). The comedy in School Rumble is a little bit..wilder..but nevertheless fun and hilarious. 

The same kind of humour =D There are many anime that make me laugh, but with Minami-ke you're laughing all the time, just like School Rumble. 

Both shows are very humorous in a very similar style. The art style is somewhat similar. Also, Kana from Minami-Ke and Tenma from School Rumble are very similar characters (cheerful, loud, dense and absolutely hilarious). There are also similarities in the sibling relationships (Tenma + Yakumo and the Minami sisters). 

School Rumble, like Minami ke, will make you laugh time and again. It has characters with their quirks, randomness, and is overall a light hearted series. However, unlike Mimami ke, School Rumble does have a semblance of a plot. Both are funny and interesting.

It has a similar animation style, same quirky humor and great characters. 

Minami-ke seems to be the twin sister of Today in Class 5-2. The most striking similarity is the "serious face" - i.e. when something weird/shocking/appalling happens, the faces aren't animated in the usual moe/loli (or whatever) idioms. There's plenty of witless humor to go around, and a lot more pedo-fanservice as well. The Minami-ke fan may be disappointed since there isn't really a Class 5-2 equivalent of Chiaki (there is a Chika, though), nor is there a Haruka, or any high school persona at that, but the cast is "diverse" enough to fulfill all the general archetypes as to not leave the viewer in rage at all.  read more

Same director.. similar feel, good humor.. a bit shoujo-ai theme but its not serious stuff.. mostly for comedy aspects.

Yuru Yuri is is what Minami-Ke would probably be like if Kana was an only child. 

Kids say and do the funniest things. In both series, there is tons of comedy, some of them completely random while others pops out of nowhere. Both series has a similar feeling of humor, as Koharu Sakuraba is the creator of both series. Both series are lighthearted comedy with some fan-service but mindless entertainment for those who wants a good laugh. 

Hilarious facial expressions and comedic daily life situations. While Minami-ke is more mature at points and Kyou no 5 no 2 is a bit more childish, both feature the same kind of humor. Minami-ke's events usually center around the Minami household while Kyou no 5 no 2's events happen mostly at school but each show has events happening in daily situations as mentioned earlier. 

Very resembling main characters. SoL, Comedy, School Renge resembles Chiaki Komari resembles Kana 

Minami-ke is basically the city-version of Non Non Biyori. Both shows are about siblings and friends having fun in their daily lives. 

Both are Girl High School animes. Both are comedic animes. Minami K is more about home life while Nichijou is more about school life. They both excel in exaggerating daily occurences 

Same animation, slow story, peaceful music and very personal detailed characters. 

Same feeling. they both center around life and have pretty much the same humor though Minami-ke have more comedy themes than Kannagi. 

Both shows deal with a group girls going through everyday life. Both feature characters that follow through on their own twisted logic to make everyday occurrences absurd. Both alternate between low and high energy moments. Though overall Yuyushiki is probably a bit louder. 

Both are similar in the sense that they're rather funny but they don't overdo the humour. Both are interesting and funny in their own right and the 2 anime involves romance ( although not so much in Minami-ke 

Both are simple but interesting comedies. The 2 anime do not really try to force the laughs and the gags are original and interesting. 

As a fun fact , while watching Minami-ke , Kana reminded me heavily of Yoshiko from Aho Girl , so I just had to dig up some similarities and make a review . Well , here ' s the similarities I found ! ♪(^∇^*) Starting off , they both have stupid yet funny protagonists ( Kana && Yoshiko ) , however I find Yoshiko to be stupider . There ' s no real plot to either of these , they ' re both just (( as I like to call them )) comedy gems created for a good laugh every episode . They also both have 3 female characters , however in Aho Girl there ' s also a male protagonist , && instead of all 3 of the female characters being protagonists in Aho girl like there is in Minami-ke , 2 of them are supporting characters , however they still contribute a considerable amount to the story . Generally , if you enjoy comedy , I ' m sure you ' ll enjoy Aho Girl && / or vice versa . They ' re both hilarious gems && as someone who usually watches / reads horror , I found myself loving both of these animes , hell I even ended up reading the Aho Girl manga due to how much I enjoyed the anime ^_^ read more 

Comedy with fan-spread characters relationship. Center of attention get most airtime, characters from outer scope of interest get relatively lesser and lesser appearance. Minami-ke focused on three sisters, and spread out to respective friends of each. Pretty much the same for Pani Poni, the show focused on main character in 1-C and there are characters from other classes a little bit away from center of attention. Character appearance distribution is pretty handy because all characters get to show off their uniqueness sooner or later, and not all audience are rocket scientists, they don't remember all characters at once.
